Great neighborhood bar..Great service and great food..Love all the girls that work there.. I highly recommend this place

So, I live right around the corner from this place and have tried to visit a couple of time. The service is absolutely terrible. The food even more so (what they actually had, the first 3 things I asked for they were out of). Not to mention the sewer smell that's ALWAYS there. The restrooms are always dirty, making it so you don't want to use them. I would NOT recommend this place. You want a fun dive, go .5 miles down the road to Willies. Now they have great service and a clean establishment, and zero sewer smell. read more

First time here today and it was great! Cannot remember the bartender's name but she worked the lunch shift and she was over the top awesome. So friendly, efficient and on top of it. Food was wonderful as well. Had the buffalo chicken wrap and the boyfriend had the cheeseburger steak. Delicious! Low lighting, nice temperature, TVs everywhere.. Sad day for me. I've been going to Cheers since about 1989ish? Wayyyy back. Burgers and wings were always consistent. Excellent. Today's visit, sadly, sucked. I ordered a short Titos and cranberry, all the short glasses were broke, so I got a tall. The cranberry is outta of gun and is super sweet so she has to water it down a little to be tolerable. There are doing something new with their kitchen and leasing it out so the food and drinks are separate. So I have to pay twice. Super inconvenient. Next, the food. We ordered a new item, the street tacos. He puts this really sweet pickled purple onion on them, had to pick those off. I was not expecting that on a street taco and I've ate tons of em. Then we ordered regular wings, mild, extra crispy. I've been eating buffalo wings the same way forever, that's,the way I like em. These had a slightly sweet flavor to the hot wing sauce. Again, not expecting that. And did not care for it. My husband thought they were good. You can go and form your own opinion. This is just my opinion but I have been going there for their burgers and wings forever. I did not try the burger so I can't speak on that. But I didn't like the wings or the drinks. Also, staff needs to check their language. I'm not a prude, but staff shouldn't be swearing out loud in front of customers. read more

We've occasionally gone to Cheers for 20+ years since we live nearby. It's changed over the years mostly in a positive way, but one bad experience sours our decision to quit patronizing it. It wasn't too busy Saturday night 4/19/22 and we decided to spend the evening there with friends celebrating my wife's up coming birthday. My wife and I only ordered 2 large droughts (Bud Light and Miller Lite) and an appetizer over about a 1.5 hour period. It got real busy when the DJ and karaoke started and service deteriorated quickly so we decided to tab out. We waited about 15 minutes to get my credit card and receipt back before I ended going to the bar to ask for it. That's when I noticed we were charged $14 per beer. It took me another 10+ minutes to get someone at the bar to verify it, and they said it was correct. After we left others in our party said they were charged $7.00 per beer. The only thing I can imagine is they don't want people in their 60's to come on busy nights so they over charged us to detour us from coming. Burned once, shame on them, no way will I get burned twice! read more

First time! So I know this is my first time at this place but 1st impressions are everything! I have no idea what the person meant about the rocking back n forth In The stools to reach his or her drink I'm assuming that person was probably 2 drinks over the limit cause we were a large group of people and none of the stools did that. But any ways I thought the place was very clean the waitress was super attentive the prices were on point. The karaoke guy was great over all it was awesome. Been here a few times. It's a pretty solid place to play darts and relax. Lots of nice dart boards. Good atmosphere, too. The lighting is dialed in just right, and they play cool music videos on several non-sports screens. Overall, the place is clean and well maintained. Service is good; bartender really hustles behind the bar and does table service, too. Drink specials are OK, nothing out of this world, and I'm not a huge fan of plastic beer mugs. Cocktails seem to be light on booze. Food looks pretty decent from what I saw other people getting, and the specials are damn good. However, as is becoming a cancer all over Phoenix bars, this place seems to think that vaping is OK to do indoors. When playing darts here last week, we had to walk out it was so bad. My eyes were watering and it smelled like the inside of an ass mixed with cotton candy from all the douchers with oral fixations sucking on alcohol and oil smoke. Seriously gross, why not just allow smoking? If you don't mind the possibility of vape stench, this is a great bar. I will come back, but I guess it'll have to be earlier in the day before the goombas come out to stink up the place. read more

I really miss the OLD Cheers. I loved the old bartenders, regulars, and dive-y, chill atmosphere. Since they have reopened, I have given Cheers Tavern several opportunities to make me a regular. It seems that this place has no desire to keep the old clientele. It's disappointing that I have lost a place to hang out -- at least there's still Tony's. New Cheers is too pricey for a dive bar. I don't see why this place is ever busy because of the prices. Although, if this place was slightly enjoyable, I would gladly pay for their over-priced drinks. They are competing with the other bars in Glendale, for the douchey-ist bar in the valley. Which is sad because there are so many bro-friendly bars on the westside. None of the old regulars come to this bar and, from what it seems, new Cheers doesn't even attempt to retain the old regulars. Also, the owners' responses to the once-regulars' reactions on the changes are crass and appalling. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Although, one plus-side is their bathrooms are no longer disgusting -- hence, the one star. I miss Sunni, Missy, Jess, and, MORE IMPORTANTLY, everything about the OLD Cheers. Once again, they have lost another paying customer, who was once a loyal regular. read more

Cheers is hands down the best local neighborhood bar and grill for fun, great food, and stellar service. The entertainment ranges from interactive experiences such as pool, darts, and karaoke to spectating live music, comedy acts, and sports. In addition, their food is the best I've ever had at a bar. The Philly Cheesesteak is my personal favorite! I love that they offer a vast variety of options, and most items and ingredients are made in house resulting in high quality food. The entire staff is also exceptional and tries to make every guest feel at home. The amazing bartenders often remember guests' names and drink orders, and I am always greeted with a smile. The more you go, the more you will feel like a part of the family. In fact, the owner has been known to say, "There are no strangers at Cheers, just friends we haven't met yet." I've been coming here pre and post new Cheers. The environment now is so much cleaner, more open and much more welcoming to patrons. There are several TVs playing all sports, beers are cold and a great selection of food items. Karaoke and music on the weekends makes for a fun night out! The owners, Tim and Lisa, make it a point to know their customers. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone. read more

After coming time and time again and putting such a good word for this place and their food I'm so disappointed with what happened today. I went over for lunch and spent about $18 ALONE for just 6 wings and 5 onion rings. I was so surprised on how expensive my lunch that I didn't have enough for tip so I truly felt bad but I'd figured I'd come back anyways since I always order wings and leave a good tip. Next thing you know .. My co worker and I were told " what was wrong with the service ? I didn't get a tip " in the 40 years of my life I've NEVER EVER had someone ask for a tip I find it extremely rude. Weather the service was great or not it's my personal choice to leave a tip or not and I shouldn't have to explain why I didn't leave a tip or not. Went in tonight to play darts, have some drinks, and some food. Waited at a table for over 15 minutes and no service. My wife then goes up to the bar and asks for a pitcher of beer and inquires about food. Well, on a Saturday night the kitchen is closed and after 20 more minutes of waiting for our pitcher and 2 rounds of darts later we left since we couldn't manage to get a drink, oh and it wasn't even that busy. So according to my group this isn't the 1st time I'm here must have been a hell of a time because I don't remember ever being here. Nonetheless my review is on the one I remember Thursday 2pm fairly empty but by 5pm it was starting get some steam. Dart board are top knotch. Do not plan on coming to this place anytime somewhat early. I pulled up at the door at 1:40 AM. The website clearly states they're open till 2 AM. I called the phone number and asked to speak to a manager, I am pretty sure he was not the manager. But he claimed to be. I asked them why they were locking their doors at 1:40 AM when they claim to be open untill 2 AM. He said it's because he wanted to. I told him I wanted to have a beer before 2 AM. He said no. I told him I was going to write a review. Then he hung up on me. I can pretty much guarantee he's not the manager. Love this place! We go to relax and play darts and the staff is super friendly. The food was good but now there's new food that we have yet to try, will report back. It's easy to get too, karaoke on the weekends and super old regulars that are really fun to shoot the shit with on the patio. All in all a great place no matter the day. read more
