Update: I was called a fake reviewer by the owner. This is not accurate. I am an actual person who has been to this restaurant multiple times in an attempt to give it multiple chances. I would beware an owner who would refer to a customer as fake because they didn't appreciate the meal or the service. Walking in, the sports bar has a "cold" feel. The staff doesn't feel welcoming and don't appear to enjoy their jobs. The food is mediocre at best and I do feel I could get better quality cheaper elsewhere. We ordered a Skinny Margarita and it was so poor we couldn't even stand a second drink. We really prefer local restaurants and bars but this is not worth visiting. read more

Let's be clear I still really love the local, but was SO BUMMED when I was told they no longer offer any sour beers. It's one of the reasons I enjoy coming here. They did have a cider in a can, but again totally bummed. Service still great, good yummy! Burgers always good. We opted just for appetizers this go round with potstickers and chip, salsa and guacamole. I get that sours aren't popular with everyone, but I wish they'd kept at least one. My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to watch football and she wanted to go to the mall afterwards. We absolutely loved this place. Their burgers are excellent as well as their cheesesticks. The service was great as the waitresses were polite and friendly. It's definitely a local spot. We loved all the ASU memorabilia. This is going to quickly become our go-to spot for burgers and football. We will definitely be back! We returned and were disappointed. My burger was good, but my partner's hot dog was so salty, only half was eaten. I ordered a second beer, but the waiter was too busy to even bring it to the table. The worst part was the noise! I like going to a noisy sports bar & grill to celebrate the end of the week, but this place is way too loud. I wonder if they know they can be held responsible for employees who experience hearing loss as a result (check OSHA limits). And draft beer selection is very limited. Beer is always nice and cold, service has always been great. The food was always awesome, we went on Wednesdays for the wings. Probably the best cooked wings. I've ever had always crunchy, not soggy, but not overcooked. The only downfall and loss of a star which actually would have been a star and a half as they no longer have wing wednesday. They're wings, sixteen bucks too expensive.That holds true anywhere though. I love the location, a mix of indoor outdoor but it's nice and airy roomy. They just need to bring back wing Wednesday. Saturday 12/20/25 we checked before we traveled to The Local, open till 11pm. Live music on till 10pm on Facebook. Arrived around 9pm. More of our friends arrived at 9:30pm and were told by staff that they were closing at 10pm. The musical performer even said at 9:55pm "let's keep this show going. Order drinks and tip your bartenders." The staff had already said that no one could order more drinks. Strange to hire someone to perform live music and then close early. Been going here for 2 weeks for trivia. Love going for that. However, Nikki is not a good server. She ignores clients and you have to hunt her down to reminder of an order that never got placed when she does take orders. She completely ignored my sister, took my nieces order and ignored my nephew, then walked off. Nikki kept doing this to the point that my crew and I ordered just straight from Kristen. Kristen was working trivia and taking orders. Kristen actually busted her back end off while Nikki slacked, flirted with my brother's table and didn't do her job. My partner and I moved to AZ a little over a year ago and visited The Local when we first arrived- and we LOVED IT!! Service was quick and attentive, food was fresh and quick to arrive, and overall atmosphere was welcoming. We visited again this evening and it was extremely disappointing. They were very busy (as expected for a Friday evening) but they only had one waitress working. My partner and I both come from serving backgrounds (if you're a server you know what I'm referring to) and we are typically very patient for servers who are having one of those busy nights and being the only one working. We ordered our drinks and food (1 beer, 1 Dr Pepper, Cesar salad with chicken and wings). A man brought our food over and we were pleasantly surprised the waitress finally had some extra help! He brought us the Cesar and it was delicious- fresh, chicken was moist, dressing good. Around 10 minutes later we see the guy who served our food sit down with a 6 top table that was seated in the restaurant. This confused us because... was he a worker not working the busy shift to help his coworker? Or was he a random guy that just served us our food? Another server did show up and clock in to start helping with the rush. However, her help wasn't much since she was focused on the handsome men at the bar the whole time and only helping them. Still waiting on our wings we see they are sitting up in the window. They sat in the food service window for 15+ minutes, to a point where the kitchen crew was ringing the bell every minute or so trying to get the waitress's attention. My partner and I decide now we want to cash out. Once we tell our waitress, she finally decides to go grab our wings that now look soggy and well.. like they been sitting in a restaurant food window for almost 20 minutes. We tell her we actually don't want the wings we'll just take the bill, her attitude about the whole thing was dismissive and sarcastic. We truly enjoyed this establishment when visiting in July 2025. I typically despise being this person who takes the time to write a review talking nothing but bad things about a restaurant. However, I'm writing this hoping the management will see this and start supporting their employees more. We overheard the waitress tonight state they have a new owner for The Local effective 4 weeks ago. To the new management: start supporting your employees and making sure there is coverage on busy nights (Fridays, weekends, etc). Overall, get a grip on your business. Similar to other reviewers experience, the food takes forever, and the service is subpar. I went in on a Friday night about 7:30 PM, and it took until about 8:15 to receive a burger. I had to inform the waitress it was sitting on the counter ready to be delivered. The bar lacks expediters to help and the bartenders were busy. Not an optimal way to run their business. The fries were completely cold and the cheese on the burger had congealed as if this burger sat in the kitchen for quite a while before I saw it move to the counter for delivery. The bartenders solution was to go reheat the meal and it came out marginally warmer, but still gross and congealed. I was also very surprised that upon sitting at the bar outside, where I could not see the taps, bartender could not provide a list nor rattle off the beers on draft. The quality of the beef was good however a cold bun and some hair doesn't make a good burger. It's (rimes with ducking), gross! This was the third time I've been there. First time it was their opening and one of the owners was just a (well can't say the word here) but sounds like pick. Arrogant comes to mind. The place was sterile and not a single sport on the TVs. Sign said to seat ourselves but I don't trust that a server will see me when I do that and waited until I notified the older male bartender that I would be sitting outside. No hello from him, he just mumbled something. My kids and I sat on the patio for about ten minutes. The younger female waitress saw us but still no one came out with menus or to say a word. So I went inside, asked the older male if it was just him and the waitress working, he said yes. So we left. Came here after the Cardinals game hoping for some Sunday night specials and was very underwhelmed. We ordered the happy hour egg rolls, which the menu says comes in a quantity of 4. Once received, it was actually 2 egg rolls cut in half. Super greasy too. Update your menu to say 4 PIECES, not 4 egg rolls. Drinks were okay but when we used the wet wipes before leaving, BOTH were completely dry meaning they were old or opened prior to using them. Yuck. I liked Hero's better. read more

I'm not sure we'd ever come back. The food is just so so, they look at your empty drink and don't offer to refill it, you have to ask. When you request a to go box it's because you're done but they don't acknowledge that and then make you wait for an unreasonable amount of time, still needing to ask for your bill. A good server would be on that. Lastly, the volume of tvs etc was extremely loud, it just didn't need to be that way. Save the hassle and go down the road to the other sports bar. read more

Had lunch from the local sports grill and I'm not impressed and will not be back, my entire medical office got overly dry food and burnt / over cooked. Chili dog sauce looked like the wetness was sucked out of it. The hamburger was so dry it was crunchy and the onion rings and French fries were dry and tasteless.
