For $25 you can get a behind the scenes tour that introduces you to a variety of turtles, snakes, and lizards that call the EcoVivarium home. They also have birthday party visits, host events, and as I learned from my friend Trish, can help teachers get set up with a reptile in the classroom. My first conversation with Susan at the EcoVivarium was heartfelt, as I was calling to see if they might be interested in the donation of our decommissioned aquarium. The setup was only four years old and housed our previous beloved 26 year old fish named Puff that had recently passed away. Susan was kind, expressed her condolences and shared that they would appreciate our donation. Chun P and I met Rachel and Donald on a Sunday and after we brought our items in from the car were treated to meeting some terrific reptiles. Many of the inhabitants at the EcoVivarium have sad stories, some had suffered abuse, some were abandoned, and others were victims of trafficking that were confiscated and brought in by the department of fish and game. Susan has created a safe space and her staff and volunteers give their all to make sure they live a better life. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon and supporting this worthy endeavor!

We recently had a very disappointing and concerning experience with this horseback riding company. Unfortunately, the horses provided for our group did not appear to be properly trained or well-managed. Several of the horses were extremely difficult to control, and their behavior raised serious safety concerns from the start. During the ride, two horses became particularly unruly and ended up bucking, throwing two members of our group off onto the ground. This was a frightening and potentially dangerous situation that could have resulted in serious injury. While we understand that working with animals always carries some risk, this level of behavior suggests a lack of adequate training, supervision, or proper matching of horses to riders. After this negative experience the Owner refused to reimburse us. She offered us a credit to come back and take another ride with them. After this experience, the ladies are terrified to get on another horse. I would strongly encourage the company to review their safety protocols, horse training practices, and staff preparedness to ensure a safer experience for future guests. I leave you all with the horses are beautiful and you can tell they are well taken care but you should be a very experienced rider if you book with this company.

They have 2 rigs and an adorable property-plenty of space for my husband to safely let my 2 year old run around while I flew. The staff were all happy and fun and encouraging. They helped improve my swing and taught me two new tricks! The class had a range of experience levels and they made sure each had individualized instruction at their level. You can literally land in any position (arms outstretched, neck first, etc) and the net is designed to make all landings soft and injury free. You can feel how much she genuinely cares about every child and parent who comes through. She made everything feel so thoughtful, intentional, and special for the kids. Every little detail felt considered, and it created such a warm, welcoming environment. All of the animals are clearly so loved and well cared for, which made the experience even more meaningful. You can tell this isn't just something she runs, it's something she pours her heart into. The next day, she hosted my group of friends and it was just as incredible. I remember last year I barely got wet and/or dirty and I dried off fairly quick. This year was BANANAS!!! Mud, puddles, foam, water, inner tubes, slides, color, and then some. I was happy I got thru the monkey bars without falling into the water/mud pit. I was not happy that the next obstacle (foam inner tube) I was shot with foam in my face going down the water slide and I almost drowned by getting ran over by another inner tube into the water pit. WOW! Thereafter, you have the revolving balls. You have to get across by walking on the tubes without falling into the muddy water. FAIL!!! Almost drowned in 4 ft of water. Then the injury with going up the ladders. I sustained a deep cut on my knee and started to bleed. I ran pass a First Aid booth asking for a band aid and got shut down with a "we're not first aid". Then whyTF were you in the first aid booth?! My fave was the big gigantic slide at the end of the course! You dive head first down the slide. YIPEEEEE!!!!!!! I have to admit, some of the challenges were pretty intense and nuts, but it sure was a LOT OF FUN!!! By the end, we were soaking wet, muddy, foamed and colored. CRAZINESS!!! Our team started together and finished together thru all the moans, groans and pains - hand in hand crossing that finish line!!! Team Yelp represented well!!! Switching up to WIPEOUT form is so much fun when you wear a costume! I dressed up as Alan from the Hangover as best I could and surprisingly the facial hair and wig stayed on through the race thanks to some well placed super glue that burned like a MFer! The ROC obstacles were a blast! Adult sized slip and slides, wrecking balls, tarzan swings, and huge slides??? Who can ask for anything more? It's just a shame you can only go through once...officially. But the vibe from your fellow ROCstars is awesome...none of the I'm bigger, faster, stronger than you attitude. It's the ultimate fun atmosphere from start to the awesome afterparty. Speaking of which, Lucid Dossier totally rocked and took the party to the next level! Only downer for me was the free beer...Miller 64? Really!?!? I'd rather drink my own piss after a keg of Guinness!
