    Prices are insanely expensive
    Hunter P.

Prices are insanely expensive. A total of $51 for 2 adults and 1 kid to go in to feed about 6 animals. Most of them don't even eat because they're so full from being fed constantly.

    Intro to heavy machinery opperation.

We are 2 seniors ($13 each). My friend had residual motion sickness from our train ride, but the host went & brought some water for us. Staff very friendly. They are very strict about the temprature range for when they bring out the small animals. It had rained the night before & so the electric rides were not yet open (a bit of standing water). I was told that the owner is a lawyer, so hence the necessary detailed entrance waiver. Petting & feeding the various guinea pigs was very therapeutic. They stay in a tray next to you, not on lap. We enjoyed feeding the larger animals as well. Watching the varieties of chickens scurry about, as well as children's reactions, was amusing. Deffinately a place for small kids, & older adults as well. We stayed more than 1 hour.

Tractor riding. $5/each ride or 3 rides for $12

Perfect place for exploring playful kiddos. It was our first time and River Street Ranch and San Juan Capistrano. Such a gorgeous city! Waiver: required for each person. Complete online to save time. They will confirm that the waiver is completed using your phone number thats listed on the waiver prior to purchasing admission tickets Tickets: $16 for adults and kiddos under 3 were free. You have in and out privileges all day. So we were able to play for a few hours then walk across the alleyway to the River Street Marketplace where there was so much food options. Activities: so many to choose from but I'll start with what we experienced. Feed basket is a MUST! $6/per basket and we were able to feed all the different animals (goats Guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, emu (Yassss an emu!!) etc. There was also "gold" mining, riding an excavator and tractor, best of all a nice playground where the kiddos can climb, slide and all that fun stuff kids love. Parking: we parked on the street with the max of 4 hours. You pay through the passport app and the space number is painted on the ground so make sure you enter the right space number. The staff was super friendly and patient especially with the younger kiddos. Overall, RSR was great and we spent all day here. Trust me the kiddos will love it!!

Such a beautiful experience for the whole family lots of neat things to do and pets to see great restaurants nearby!

I really enjoyed my time at River Street Ranch with my kids--there's a great variety of animals, and the overall vibe is fun and family-friendly. That said, be prepared for a lot of à la carte pricing. The pony rides, train rides, diggers, electric cars, and gold panning are all charged separately, which means you'll end up making multiple trips back to buy more tickets. They also have a hard 4 PM closing time, with no flexibility--even on weekends. One note: while the guinea pig area is a hit with kids, it would be even better if guests could hold them, not just pet them. Still, it's a solid day out, and worth a visit--just plan ahead budget-wise.

Took the kids here and they had a blast! It's not too big but they had plenty of animals and you're able to go on where the goats are. The kids really enjoyed feeding the animals and even asked to come back when we left. Definitely worth the trip. It's also a plus that there are many eateries within walking distance, an ice cream place, a well as a park.

Overpriced $16 adults, $13 kids 3-12, everything to do is extra
    Terri K.

Overpriced for really nothing. $16 for adults, kids ages 3-12 are $13. The entrance fee only covers seeing the animals in the pens as everything else is extra money. Animals include an emu, pigs, rabbits, alpacas, goats, sheep, guinea pigs & chickens. We spent just under an hour there. They have a playground but you can go to the free one right across the train tracks by the big parking lot. The waiver they make each adult fill out by scanning QR code asks for a ridiculous amount of info so get ready for the spam that will come along. A positive note was the young man operating the train rides & getting the guinea pigs out was very nice.

River Street Ranch, AKA "Zoomars" is a fun place for both young children and their relatives. With a basket of vegetables, children can feed all sorts of animals ....what fun for the kids and for those watching their enjoyment. Several kid friendly activities like a train ride on a small track and panning for "fancy rocks" are among other activities kids like. These, along with a small playground, should keep a small child's interest for well over an hour.

Such a cute little spot for all ages. So many cute stores, food options, and other activities. This was my first time here and I wish I knew about this space when my son was younger. There's a petting zoo, little train to ride on, and a park. You're able to have your birthday party there as well! It was really charming and cute!

I surprised my boyfriend with a date here, and we both left completely obsessed. We learned more about ostriches than we ever imagined possible, got unbelievably close to them, and even had them nibble on us -- which was equal parts hilarious and unforgettable. Every second of the tour was incredible. Now, to keep it real: this is a small farm. It's mostly ostriches, some desert, some fencing, and at first glance you might think, "okay... giant birds in the dirt." But that's kind of the magic of it. The beauty of this place sneaks up on you the same way a really good book does -- at first it's just paper and words, and then suddenly you're emotionally attached and questioning your entire existence over an ostrich egg. Lou absolutely made the experience. He has such an amazing life story, so much wisdom, and a genuine passion that shines through in everything he talks about. But honestly, the real tour isn't just about the birds -- it's about the way Lou sees the world. One minute he's explaining the mechanics of ostriches like some kind of desert bird engineer, the next he's pointing out California quails you never would've noticed on your own, talking about nature with the kind of excitement that makes you start paying attention too. He'll happily talk with you for as long as you're willing to engage, and you leave realizing there's so much life and beauty packed into what initially looked like "just some land." Also, this man talks about his wife with such genuine love and admiration that it honestly restored my faith in humanity a little bit. It was so sweet hearing someone speak so splendidly about their partner after clearly building a whole life together out there. The entire place feels full of heart because of it. And the honey!! Don't skip the honey. Absolutely delicious. We also bought an ostrich egg for $60 and honestly... worth every penny. We painted the shell afterward and made the world's biggest deviled egg, which is still one of the funniest things we've ever done. Such a unique souvenir and experience. There's also so much more here than just the tour -- Lou's son teaches archery lessons, there's a small campsite, and despite losing their cherry trees from the fire and flood, the farm still has this incredible spirit and resilience that makes you admire them even more. If you go, just keep an open mind. It might not look like much from the get-go, but if you really listen -- really let Lou show you what this place means to him -- you realize you're somewhere genuinely special. It's funny, heartfelt, fascinating, and weirdly grounding all at once. Must see. So glad we went. Stop by -- you won't regret it.

From the very beginning, the owner Jennifer was incredibly responsive to all of my texts and questions. She was so kind and helpful, and she made the whole planning process feel easy and stress free. That alone was such a relief when organizing a big party. The animal handlers Crystal, Alicia, and Jessica were absolutely wonderful. They were super friendly, patient with the kids, and incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals. You could tell they genuinely love what they do. They did not just handle the animals, they truly engaged the kids and made everything educational and fun. On top of that, they even helped us set up the party and our food, which was above and beyond what we expected. The party is hosted on the side of the ranch that sits between the animal pens and a playground, along with a picnic area and bleachers for the educational animal presentation. The setting is so unique and fun. It truly feels like you are right in the middle of the ranch experience. The birthday package includes up to 40 guests, and that number includes the birthday family. Guests 2 years old and younger do not count toward the guest capacity, which is such a helpful detail for families with little ones. You also have the option to add more guests (which we had to do) for an additional fee per guest but you are capped at 60 guests for birthday parties. If your party is over 60 guests, it will need to be hosted on the wedding venue side of the ranch and will cost more due to additional fees and a required deposit. Just keep in mind that the wedding venue side obviously does not have the same play structure area, and the playground added so much fun to the birthday party. I truly feel it would not be as exciting for the kids without that space to run and play between activities. The party also included drinks and plenty of pizza for our guests. They estimate one slice per child and two slices per adult, and it was the perfect amount. The pizza is catered from Vincenzo's Pizza of Noho, and it was delicious. If you need more food, you can also order additional items directly from their menu, which is really convenient. As part of the party, we received a full tour of the ranch where the kids were able to pet tortoises, lizards and a variety of farm animals. The animal presentation was such a highlight. They brought out exotic insects, a chinchilla, guinea pigs, different birds, and several kinds of lizards and snakes including a boa. The kids were completely amazed and so excited. At the end, we even got to take pictures with Herbie the hybrid camel, which was such a fun and memorable moment. Overall, the party was an absolute blast. The kids had a wild time, and parents kept asking how we found this place and saying it was the best birthday party they have ever been to.
