There were many different varieties of birds, and each one added to the experience. My partner and kids had a wonderful time, and we especially loved the beautiful koi pond as well. It was a peaceful, fun, and unique outing for the whole family. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys birds and wants a more interactive experience with them. One thing to keep in mind is that visitors are not allowed to hold or pet the birds. However, you can feed them, and if they choose to land on your arm, that's perfectly okay. One of the birds even hopped onto my son's arm, which was a highlight of the visit! Overall, a fantastic experience that we would happily do again.

Located in Del Mar near the festival, if your eyes are peeled open, it can be quite easy to miss. There's a few parking spots available. I came at 10am to see if I can register and walk in right away. They told me to come back at 11am. So I went across the street for a drink and then returned. It was a neat experience. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). Memberships are available if interested.

(see back muscle pics LOL) Haven't been to indoor rock climbing in a minute but this location is what got me started. This is one of the bigger climbing gyms in San Diego with tons of wall space for both top rope and bouldering. First timer or seasonal climber, you'll fit right in. The staff are awesome - helpful, motivating, and great at walking you through the basics. We opted for belaying lessons and I recommend that for first-timers! The front desk was polite and efficient but may be a bit corporate than warm. Tip: sign the waiver before you arrive. The gym is clean, routes are reset often, and there's a slab wall full gym, sauna plus a small shop with gear and snacks. They also have a Mission Valley location closer to my work! Tempted to check that one out! Overall: 4 stars - solid climbing, great workouts, even yoga, and good vibes. I'd recommend a membership if you really want to commit. They have several options on their website. HSA/FSA eligible too! Great for a group event and birthday outing in my opinion! Just be ready to get humbled (and sore).

This park is hidden and meant to be a neighborhood park for the people who live in the area. We came around noon and there were a few families playing on the playground. Not at all crowded or rowdy. There are 2 separate play areas - one for toddler and another play area for ages 5 and up. There are 2 play structures, a few swings, 1 basketball hoop, frisbee golf goal, a large grassy play field, and a walking path that goes around the park. It's not a very large park and no there are no bathrooms, which is the only downfall for this park. There are picnic tables and covered tables for eating and benches by the play structures to watch the kiddos. My kids enjoyed the park. Super low key and not busy. This is a nice play area for a couple hours to take the kids, do some exercise, or walk your pets.

The park is beautifully maintained with lots of mature trees, landscaped gardens, and plenty of shaded areas. There are several covered picnic tables, making it a great place to enjoy lunch or spend a relaxing afternoon. There's also a large open grassy field that's perfect for running around, tossing a ball, playing with your dog, or just enjoying some open space. A paved walking path loops around the entire park, making it great for walking, jogging, or pushing a stroller. The only downside right now is that parking can be a little challenging due to nearby construction, but we were still able to find street parking without too much trouble.
