I used Chef Amanda to cater a 30-person party last Summer and I can't say enough great things about her! The planning process was so easy, her pricing was extremely competitive, and the food was amazing! My guests gave her rave reviews, and I do, too! Amanda came to our house while we were in Park City, set everything up (she rented dishes and silver for me) and had it ready to go when we arrived home. Her timing with the appetizers, main dishes and desserts was impeccable, and she moved around my kitchen and operated my challenging oven like a consummate professional. She cleaned up afterwards, including rinsing and taking the dishes and silver back with her. She made the whole event so easy for me, and for once, I was able to enjoy my own party! We cannot say enough good things about Chef Amanda and her delicious food. Chef Amanda was easy to work with, accepted any food request, and created a beautiful menu for our two family dinners in Park City. We have to give her an extra shout out for delivering perfectly cooked food while adapting to an ill-equipped rental house kitchen with an old electric coil range with faulty burners that sit on an angle. Did I mention the kitchen the size of a postage stamp? Seriously, someone that can perfectly cook filet mignon for eight in this kitchen can cook any four course meal anywhere. We will definitely hire Chef Amanda again and highly recommend her for your next gathering. She appealed to a wide range of ages and tastes. I am not a chicken wing fan but ordered her ginger soy slow cooked sticky wing appetizer for the wing fanatics in our group. As a gourmand, the aphorism, "Life is a journey, not a destination," applies well to food and eating. Eating good food is so much more meaningful and exciting than achieving satiation. But this story does not begin with a happily full belly in mind; it begins with wanting to see that radiant and alluring Smile, shiny teeth and all. For that, I was willing to suffer any and all trials, but I was confident that I can endure, considering that it would involve eating delicious food. So, this journey started with a morning drive, and the first stop was one of her favorite morning places for breakfast and good coffee. First meal was timed to end just as the bakery next door takes their "crack bread" out of their ovens. The drive continued while we pulled off pieces of this semi-baguette bread basted in olive oil and sea salt, which is when I first saw a small glimmer of that smile. As we drove, Amanda pointed out various spots that were the best place for certain foods, ingredients, and the purveyors of those establishments. When we got back, I happily languished for the next several hours in food coma, and when the stupor slowly wore off, it was time for another meal. Not forgetting my initial objective, I recalled seeing that Smile often in photos of her preparing meals, so I offered to help prepare the next meal in hopes I would catch it in action. The flaw in this strategy is that I was unable to keep my eyes focused on the ingredients I was preparing whilst watching her and being distracted by "taste testing" everything coming out of the oven or stove. By mealtime, I had completely forgotten to look for that Smile again because I was ensconced in my own world, reveling in the food. In the end, I failed to catch Chef Amanda's glowing Smile (teeth and all), but my failure was happily assuaged by all the good food and conversation that we traversed throughout the day. This is my long-winded way of saying, pleasurable and enjoyable meals are journeys sometimes best navigated by a skilled captain whom will lead the passenger through the sublime, delectable, and enrapturing gustatory adventure. I joined Yelp just to review this. My office used Amanda to cater meetings. Their food looks good but tastes horrible. Not fresh, lacks flavor, extremely overpriced. I will give them points for having a wide selection of salad offerings. Where I have an issue with them is with their prices and customer service. Their team seems to barely tolerate serving you that is made clear in their body language and the constant scowl on their faces--they must really hate their job. She is loud and abrasive--never smiles, never says thank you. read more
