I bought a Groupon for four people to attend Chef Baba's cooking class, and we were all so excited to go! I thought we were cooking, but it turns out that we got to sit and learn how to cook! The chef does these classes in two locations; one in Fort Lauderdale, and one in Delray Beach. Today we attended the class at Bagel Twins restaurant in Delray Beach. Tonight's menu included Lobster! We started off with a delicious Lobster ravioli with a lemon wine sauce and wilted arugula. From there we had the most divine lobster bisque I've ever tasted. Chef Cooks all of this in front of you and asks for participation from the audience. He had many Sous chefs tonight! After the bisque, he made the most incredible Lobster bruschetta with a balsamic glaze on top. And to finish off the evening he served the most delicious lobster mac and cheese I have ever had in my entire life! When you take his classes, he will email you the recipes of everything he cooked that night. My friends and I had so much fun and we would definitely go back for another demonstration and meal! The cooking class was such a fun and interactive experience! The more outgoing you are, the more you'll enjoy it. Chef Baba is funny, a little sarcastic, and really encourages everyone to cook with their heart rather than stressing over perfection. One of the coolest parts is that he makes his own wine from scratch and gives everyone a glass to try. You can also BYOB, which makes the experience even more relaxed and enjoyable. The class is group-based, so volunteers help cook while everyone participates and learns together before sharing the food. It creates a really fun atmosphere and makes for a great date night or group outing. The food was incredibly tasty and felt very authentic. My family and I definitely learned a recipe that could easily become part of our Sunday dinner rotation. I'm excited to try it again once Chef Baba sends the recipe! We love Chef Baba's cooking classes. Have been to quite a few. They are always entertaining, educational, yummy (you get to eat everything that is cooked) and hydrating (lots of Cheff Baba's wine to enjoy). I have been using several of Chef Baba's tips since the first class I attended. This past weekend we attended his Italy event at Bagel Twins. While this was not specifically a cooking "class" it was a lot of fun and of course there was lots of food to eat (included in the price of admission). I really feel like I was duped! I booked the pizza and pasta cooking class. I was really looking forward to learning how to make homemade pizza dough and pasta. That did not happen. We attended the class in Fort Lauderdale. It takes place in a warehouse with no AC, so don't go in the summer. It is set up like a classroom with rows of tables - no cooking centers. We sat at the table and watched 5 people assemble pizzas from dough that was previously prepared or purchased, sauce (I think from a can - he didn't show us how it was prepared), and toppings that had been prepared in advance. We were not taught how to make homemade dough or sauce. The class of about 40 people was served pizza from these 5 pizzas and 2 that Chef Baba had made in advance. I felt like I was back in kindergarten. The pasta portion of the class was Chef Baba serving us leftover lobster mac and cheese from the night before, which he proudly stated. Part of the class description said we would be emailed the recipes after the class. That never happened because there were no recipes to share. However, he passed around his newly published book in an effort to sell us a collection of recipes. He also pushed hard to sell his wine, olive oil, and vinegar. I will say he is a very nice guy and a great entertainer. If you want to go to see a show in a warm warehouse setting, you will love the experience. You will leave feeling like Chef Baba is your new friend. If you want an actual cooking class, spend your money elsewhere. read more

We bought a Groupon for this cooking class and we had a great time! It's in a warehouse area. Inside, everyone sits at long tables and high top tables facing the chef. He puts on a cooking demonstration and has 2 people come up to help at a time (about 8 total throughout). Everyone else kind of lends a hand serving food or cleaning up or pouring wine, etc.. chef baba is great! We ate some great food all lobster themed. We saw another couple bring their own bottle of wine so that is definitely recommended and I would next time! read more
