More than five stars!…read more Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair. All in all, the results exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend Ammar and his team and, once settled, we will be having him back to take care of additional projects we'd like to accomplish.

The electrician also identified some other issues and helped make the home safer. With a 2 year old and the little one on the way, I can't tell you how much it helps to have the peace of mind of a well-supported 2nd story and a potential electrical fire avoided. Also, a shout out to the drywall and painting teams. They were extremely courteous and considerate, especially considering we were ALL SICK WITH FEVERS that week! Yep, that was fun. Last point, regarding cost. Nader clearly made every effort to get this on budget and I appreciate that. While some aspects were fine, we quickly noticed major issues: cracks in the ceiling, badly hung cabinets and drawers, a crack in our new wood flooring, and numerous required touch-ups. I reached out shortly after completion, and again at 6 months. Both times, they promised to follow up and completely ghosted us. * Second Experience (Recent Bathroom Remodel): We decided to give them a second chance to redo our tub/shower combo because we heard they were under possibly new ownership. We again paid cash. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. We are facing the exact same issues: shoddy workmanship with no oversight and a total lack of communication. We are now more than 30 days past our final payment, and the project is still incomplete. Home Masters Int'l consistently breaks their promises and has horrible communication. Fast forward my last week at the apartment, I get a call from Maria that they should have received the fee to break my lease at the time I dropped off the letter. Well guess what they had to wait because my company was transferring the funds to my account. Not a problem. Also, Liz had no idea that I even put my notice in because Maria never put it in the system. And I still don't know to this day where she put my notice. Fast forward to now, my job lagged super hard on getting me the funds. I log in to see if I can pay online and my total is almost 5k. When I look at the fees, they charged me for this month (month of March) even though my 30 day notice has the 7th on there. I was confused because when I talked to Liz she said I was to pay the termination fee and the prorated amount for the 7 days. So why are you charging me for a full month. Not only that I received an email for next month for an additional $700. I sent a email to Maria asking why my total was so high. I explained that I went online to pay and my total isn't correct. And I'm not paying anything until they correct my total. Well guess what?!! Maria never responded. And my access to the site to pay was removed after I sent the email. This place is a scam. And it's a shame because I was there for a little over a year and a half and I really didn't have any issues or problems with my apartment or the leasing staff. Liz has always been great. But Maria is the worse. She seems to know nothing. Because of that I would never recommend this place. First of all I know it's California and everything is expensive but the price is not worth what the apartments look like inside or outside. I seen people talk about roaches. I've never had that issue. Just spiders which should be expected since it is an older complex. But these games with my final fees is Crazy. Beware is all I can say.

Because of the structural and electrical scope, I decided to build fully permitted and up to code. I hired Artoo twice. About 18 months ago I bought a one-time consultation. The consult fee is not cheap, but it's totally worth it. I got a full preview of everything that would be required for my project - sizing of structural members, ratings for materials, and what would (and wouldn't) fly with city inspectors. I also got a handful of solutions for things I didn't know how to handle. The meeting really streamlined my planning and thinking about design tradeoffs. The second time I hired Artoo (December) was to do the full construction plans. I met with Ramy to do an updated plan review and for him to take some measurements. I really felt like he was taking my input and we were working together on the final details. Then the quality of the drawings themselves are impeccable. In a previous life I did heavy AutoCAD drafting, so I'm very picky about drawings being accurate and complete. They were also turned around really fast. Much faster than I could have drawn in my prime. Next was probably the best part - Ramy said he would help with any notes from the city plan review process. I was worried how that would go. We had to do some revisions, but it was totally painless thanks to hiring the right company. I felt unstoppable with Ramy as a partner, and I got everything I wanted approved by the city. I'm writing this review today (August) because I had another small question about the plans, and Ramy basically answered my email immediately. Super tight customer service. I don't always have the budget or time to build things right. Artoo Design is one of those companies you should hire when quality and time is important.
