    1. Chicken Wings Dinner
    Erika D.

This was my first time. People were out the main door as I pulled up. I'll start off by saying the boogaloo sandwich is delicious. It's ground beef on a large sub sandwich. It has carmelized onions throughout the sandwich and it's topped with Chef Greg's special sauce. The sauce is a hickory based barbecue sauce (I believe), but it has a little more going on. It's like a sloppy joe on steroids. I want to apologize, because I was so eager to get the boogaloo (and I did), but I forgot to take a pic before I ate it! Oopsy! Next time! It's best to call in your order ahead of time, because there is no air conditioning, very limited spacing to stand and flies are flying in out of building, because the door is open. This is why I gave 3 out 5 stars. There is a parking lot across the street. You have an unpaved parking lot that's really dirty and a paved, yet pothole filled parking lot (that belongs to the liquor store) next to the unpaved parking lot. Guess which parking lot I chose? Potholes for $300, Stu! I have plenty of experience in dodging them. Fortunately, the lady that takes your order is behind plexiglass and you get your order through a plexiglass door, once it's ready. I also ordered smothered wings (you get six whole wings) with onions and a double portion of dressing with gravy. The dressing is ok (NOT as tasty as my mom's). Actually, it's a little bitter for my taste (too much sage). On a scale of 1 to 10, I give everything I've had about a seven. The wings were seasoned nicely. I took a bite out of the cornbread and it's good. I also ordered a peach cobbler and it was pretty good. I love the crust. I think that was my favorite part. I can't forget the Kool-Aid. It was very balanced as far as sweetness. It wasn't overly sweet. It was really good. All in all, I'll be back, but I will definitely order ahead of time. The wait time that day was about 25 minutes.

Boogaloo sandwich....you've never had such a delicious sandwich before!!!!

Chef Greg you are so kind and amazing. Your boogaloo sandwich is absolutely amazing!!! Will make the trip here again for the smothered boogaloo fries and sandwich. You just gotta come here. Support Chef Greg. He totally deserves all the recognition!!!

Quite honestly, I was not impressed by the Boogaloo Wonderland Sandwich. I made a great effort to travel across town before heading back to Milwaukee. I had just dined elsewhere, but I couldn't leave without trying this raved about sandwich. I really wanted to like this sandwich as it reminds me of a place I love in Los Angeles. I love all things Philly cheesesteak like. The sauce taste like straight-up marinara sauce. I'm aware that there are hoagies dressed with Italian toppings, but I'm sure this was not their intention. The sauce wasn't bbq like at all -watered down tomato paste is the best way to describe it. It is not my intent to bash this place or the owner, but with all of the pictures on the wall and articles written about the food, it just missed the mark for me. The owner was condescending and a bit uninviting. I passed it off as being sarcastic, but it was clear that we were uncomfortable. It was apparent we weren't from Detroit and had questions about the menu. The Boogaloo sandwich did not match his cockiness.

The famous Boogaloo Wonderland sandwich is simply delicious. MAC & cheese and the candied yams a must . Be prepared to wait everything is made to order but worth it .

A classic worthy of its reputation! Tiny space, real simple, just a few chairs (normally, I assume - these days it's carryout only cause of Covid), but you've got Chef Greg behind the register and the food is hot and delicious. Got a Boogaloo Wonderland - that is hell of a sandwich. What is that sauce?? Like a tomato-forward barbecue with mad flavor, and the ground beef's tasty, and the bread's all nice and soft. The Veggie Wonderland is also terrific - very tasty mix of quality veggies in that sauce. Hot, tasty, totally unique. Will definitely grab next time I'm in Detroit.

Ground beef boogaloo, peach cobbler, Mac n cheese and corn bread and rock n Rye of course. Plus the talented Chef Greg himself.

We entered through the back entrance and were immediately greeted with a warm welcome. We quickly found a table for two, and our server was attentive from the start, bringing water right away, answering our questions, and walking us through the wine and beer selections. My wife ordered the Beet & Salmon Salad, while I chose the Crispy Chicken Club with white cheddar and house-smoked bacon. The sandwich was absolutely incredible--hands down the best crispy chicken club I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was outstanding. I also stole a few bites of my wife's salad and was pleasantly surprised by the yellow beets. I'd only ever had red beets before, and both varieties were prepared beautifully. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the fresh ingredients. Between the excellent food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service, this turned out to be one of the best impromptu dinner dates we've had in quite some time. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are already looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu. Highly Recommend!

It is still certainly in my top 10, and the service remains perfect, but we had a few dishes that missed the mark, the wine pairing just wasn't worth it and this was even more true for my husband who went for the upgraded wine pairing (mine beat his every time, but for 1 glass). That and the slightly smaller portion sizes and that they no longer do an amuse bouche or salad with the bread as they used to, brought them down to a 4. Note that they do add a 22% service charge to the bill, which usually pushes my buttons... But the service is so perfect, and they very directly call it out, so it didn't bother me that much. All that said this is still a fabulous place to go, even more so, if you are with a vegetarian or a pescatarian, because all can enjoy!

I do believe you can come in and eat off the menu otherwise though. I really wanted the full experience, so I reserved two grand tastings. This consisted of a 9 course tasting. You can also add a wine pairing for $125/person. I will say that this was very expensive. Plan to spend at least $500 for two people to eat and drink. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! We both remarked that this has a NYC feel to it. IYKYK. I struggle to fully convey what a magical night this was. We were treated like absolute royalty. The service was absolutely phenomenal! They had the ability to make you feel like you were the only couple in the whole place! It was interesting because the staff was dressed super casually. Jeans in fact. But they gave 5 star service. If you got up to use the restroom they were suddenly at your side to help you with your chair. While you were gone your napkin was refolded. You received new silverware with every course. I can't even explain how impeccable the service was. The food... Was incredible. Everything paired so nicely. I wish I had the words ro describe how delicious everything tasted. And we left absolutely stuffed. I ABSOLUTELY think everyone needs to have this experience at least once!

He was super friendly and answered all of our questions regarding the menu. Here's what we got: - Michigan lamb ragu (his) - Lobster and shrimp pad thai (mine) - Crab and shrimp cakes (share) - clam chowder (share) His family got some of the same items, but I can't remember the different items they got. The overall consensus though was that everything tasted fantastic. Coming from the Bay Area, I have high expectations when it comes to Asian food, so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the pad thai tasted. The clam chowder was creamy and delightful. The crab cakes were the perfect size and not teeny tiny. The lamb ragu was very well done also and my husband is a big fan of lamb so he really enjoyed his meal.
