The woman who answers the phone is extremely polite, and speaks well so you can understand her. She was very pleasant, and helpful...that is reason enough to come back! Good Customer service is a rarity. My family ordered the Combo Lo-Mein, General Tso Chicken, and Sesame Chicken, and Wonton Soup. For the area this is the best delivery around. I have tried all of them that deliver to Fort Belvoir, and this is the best. When the food arrived it was steaming hot and fresh tasting. Alot of Fast Chinese Delivery places do NOT offer fresh, steamy hot foods, they usually end up luke warm, and mushy. Only negative I had was they do not offer Dinner Combos like they do at lunch, however the entrees do come with steamed rice. If you want delivery to Fort Belvoir, this is the best place to get it. They're polite and pleasant on the phone, the food delivery is speedy, and the food itself is pretty good. It's not mind blowing or anything, but if you're looking for Chinese food it's just great. The downsides are that it's on the more expensive end of such places, and that "extra spicy" means "here's a tiny bit of chili oil in a container" instead of extra spicy food. We have been coming here regularly for years, and our experience has been consistently good. The wait staff are always pleasant, friendly, and helpful. At times, when we ask for suggestions, they have offered that if we try something and don't like it, they will replace it. Never had to take that offer because everything is good. Our favorites include crispy fish, General Tso eggplant, and General Tso bean curd. When we feel like eating out, our first thought is usually to head to Chef Huangs. read more

My husband and I really like the lunch buffet at Chef Huang's located right next door to Safeway. It's not a large buffet bar, but what's there is good, fresh, and hot...my fave is sesame chicken. I ordered the Sesame Chicken, Beef Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls and Wonton Soup. The food was beyond good, it was excellent. So much so that this is the only place I will order from, from now on. Finding good Crab Rangoon is an adventure in itself as any foodie will tell you, finding amazing Crab Rangoon is rare and can sometimes come at the expense of the other food they offer. We have been eating at Chef Huang since we found the place about 7 years ago. While I don't think there's anything on the menu that would put a Chinese chef to shame, the food is consistently good. Portion size is amazing. For dinner I usually order 3 takeout meals and a large soup, and my family eats at least 2, sometimes 3 meals from it. Delivery is free and quick. It's a shame they can't figure out their delivery system, as it's one of the better Chinese places near our home. I placed a simple order of crab Rangoon, sesame beef and king pow chicken for delivery. I was told a time of 30-35 minutes for the food to arrive. An hour later, I call to ask about our order. The gentleman (owner I'm assuming) asked if I lived on Ft. Belvoir, I stated no that we lived in the neighborhood right across the street. (This is when my first panic set in of the driver delivering to base before our house...equaling cold food!). The gentlemen apologized and stated he would call the driver. I call back 7 minutes later as we still had no food. Apparently there was traffic on Richmond highway (he doesn't even need to get on the main road to get to our house!). He apologizes again and says it should be there soon. 6 minutes later, still no food. This time I was told he got lost on the delivery before ours but was on the way. This time I told him to just cancel, it's been and hour and 15 minutes and if the driver delivered many homes before ours, I know the food is going to be cold. After trying many strategies to get me to not cancel (including offering to remake and have it at the house in 10 minutes---how????!!!), I still said no thank you. We like this place, but will be trying other Chinese restaurants in the area before ordering from here again. (But when and if we do it will be for pick up only!!). read more

Had dinner here last night with friends. It is my son's favorite restaurant. As far as I can tell, everything is good here! My son loves their beef cho-cho which is basically teriyaki beef on a stick and their crab rangoon. My favorite is their roast pork and potatos. Love this place...we go at least once a week. General Tsos chicken is a favorite along with their Egg Drop soup. Tried several different items and they have all been excellent. I can't really speak on the restaurant experience of this place because I normally order food for delivery. They are SUPER fast, last night I called them around 8:55 for delivery and they were knocking at my door around 9:05. I am not exaggerating, I mean I guess me living 2 lights away helps but still they normally deliver between 10-15mins. But still even when you go into a carry out sometimes the wait for your food is long. I have never waited 30mins for food from this place, even when it was snow on the ground they were still quick. I ordered the crispy semese chicken with fried rice and a chicken w/broccoli and steamed rice with 2 egg rolls. I did go into the restaurant once to order food to go, wasn't too many people there but it was nice and clean.The only thing I don't like is they don't have any combination meals for dinner, but they do have them for lunch. I called and placed 2 orders of orange chicken. and the delivery guy only shows up with 1. No big deal so i call them and say hey you forgot to add another orange chicken entree. They said they only charged me for 1 but they would only charge me for 12.50 for another entree and they would be there in 30-40 mins. An hour later my friend comes over and places an order himself. A total time of 2 hrs goe by and my friends order came before mine. I called them and talk to who ever the hell it was on the phone and they said no you never said you wanted to place that order and all this bull shit and said it with attitude. I had 2 other friends that heard him say we will charge you for 12.50 and it will be there in 30-40 mins and he has the nerve to tell me im wrong and he denied it the entire time. So now i have to wait until monday to see if this person charged me another order when i never even got it.
