Largr tasty pieces of crisp honeyed shrimp in the walnut shrimp, and large crispy wanted-perfect! .Yummy diced cashew chicken. Orange beef not particularly crispy (I suspect made first? Order was large, took awhile.) but delicious. Jade Scallop dish brimming with properly cooked tasty vegetables and a tasty sauce. Spare ribs a bit surprisingly fatty but very flavorful - even without the provided homemade brown & packaged duck sauces :) The "healthy" tofu dish was livened up with the brown sauce, yummy. The spring roll was crisp, decent, nothing special. None of us partaking tonight are Chinese or Thai, so I really cannot speak to authenticity. But Why oh why did I wait so long to order from here?! This was my second time visiting. I ordered home style bean curd for pick up. When I got there the lady up front was not very kind. She was more pleasant than my first visit. The food was ok, fortune cookie was stale. Wouldn't go back because I generally felt unwelcome lol. Please watch some YouTube videos on customer service. We've ordered from GB for years and find it reliable. I've recently stopped eating meat. I had a difficult time finding a menu for GB that has descriptions of each dish including ingredients. When I go to the website icon on Google search it take me to a Honda dealership. The noodle dishes may include many ingredients, shrimp, pork and chicken. read more

Just got this delivered. I was skeptical about this place because of the reviews, and I can now say I regret not trusting the bad reviews. This was NOT good food had to throw it out. I got the ginger beef combo, the beef was extremelyyyy hard and I wasn't even sure if I was eating beef tbh lol. Also got the pad Thai. I swear I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant that makes a bad of pad thai, but this place was the first to do that. And there fries were soggy and super generic. We moved to the area and decided to check this place out because it's so close. The beef with broccoli was good. The beef wasn't chewy and the flavor was real good. The chicken fried rice was was okay. I felt like the rice wasn't fried enough. And I felt like it was kinda pricey. It was $17 for both...Maybe I need to realize I'm not in the south anymore. Located in a small plaza off of Telegraph, in a nondescript building. Usual Chinese cuisine on the menu. My order took less than 10 minutes, and I was on the road again. Definitely a no thrills establishment. Not very clean and very small space. They serve large portions, so you could possibly split the meal if you wanted. There is room to eat in, but only a couple of tables--it's basically a to-go place. Food was so so. I had the sweet and sour pork with fried rice. Very oily pork and dry rice. Wow, what an awful dinning experience and unsanitary. Called in an order for pick up and the person on the phone was more interested in getting me off the phone than paying attention to what I was ordering. Also I was put on hold 3 times, which I can understand if the place is busy, but when I showed up 5 minutes later to pick up my food there was no one in the restaurant. When I arrived I went up to the counter and someone from the kitchen had to ask me what I ordered...seriously? Whats the point of taking my order and my name if I then I have re-order it when I show up...shouldn't they just say "whats the name" or something to that extent? At this point I am wondering who took my order (because the person from the kitchen's voice didn't sound like the one on the phone). After I'm standing there for 5 minutes this elderly lady (grandma I presume, looks like a family run business) then decides to get up from her meal, walk around the counter, and tell me my food will be ready in 5 minutes. BINGO, this is the lady that took my order over the phone (same voice). What sort of customer service is that? When a customer walks in you dont continue chatting and eating with your family and then several minutes later decide to pay attention to your job. We ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and the twin flavor chicken with a side of egg rolls. We both tried each others dish, and apart from the meat being different, the sauces were exactly the same, so clearly they didn't make what we ordered. The egg rolls were disgusting and for some reason they had beef in it.....last I checked egg rolls do not have beef in them. To top it all off I found a HAIR IN MY FOOD....that is disgusting and unsanitary. The restaurant itself is a mess. There is a hole bunch of cluttered junk all over the place and there is only 2 tables with enough seating for maybe 8 people. Never coming back here again. This is my other regular place for lunch. You know you are in a restaurant with fresh ingredients when you see the chef dismembering whole chickens in the back of the kitchen. Chicken dishes are my favorite here; take your pick: General Tso's Orange (and the less good) Lemon Singapore noodles is sure to please with a healty dose of curry and enough food to serve 2 for around $8. Lunch specials are a great deal at $4.25 or $4.50 with a can of Coke. It's so cheap its nearly un-American. Then again the portait of Mao on the wall might remind you are not in an American restaurant. Cold beer is avaiable to drink here or take away. Finally, the owners' grandkids are often around and generally well behaved. If you have a chance to chat with their British son-in-law he's a hoot and a really nice guy. read more

They are scamming their customers by posting their pricing on line and on their printed menu and then charging $3-5 more when it's time to pay. The only pro was that they used white breast meat, other than that, it wasn't so great. I've noticed it's hard to find good takeout Chinese food in the DC area. Everything I have ordered has been excellent. They can even customize quite a few of their dishes. The workers at the front are always interested in your opinion of the food. I usually go in with a co-worker and eat-in, so we are away from the office. I would prefer to see some better housekeeping. Organization in the front area could be much better. General cleanliness in the front and back, where everyone can see, would reallly improve this place. Cleanliness and upkeep is the final step to making this place King of the Hill. read more

ordered at 5:30p on a Sunday for deliver. An hour and 15 min later it finally arrived. So far, its the best chinese we've had since moving here 6 months ago and it's our 6th try. General Tso's shrimp is to doughy but sauce yummy, reminded me of funnel cakes but I rarely order anything breaded. Garlic Eggplant was very good. Overall, decent for the east coast. We always pick up our order so I cannot speak to delivery quality, but when we pick-up at the restaurant its always ready within 10 minutes. Yup, went here just because I was intrigued by the name as I was passing by the area. The hole in the wall location, and giant pile of old newspapers on the table might be a little off putting, but I gave it a shot. The Ginger Beef is fried breaded strips of steak (the breading gave it a strange texture) with carrots and peppers in a sweet, little bit spicy and very gingery sauce. Came with a good size helping of fried rice and a fresh spring roll. Nice to try something different than the usual Chinese takeout. About 8 dollars for the combo meal. 3.5 stars read more

I ordered a lo mein combo meat meal for lunch number 71 with no mushrooms (allergic). When I received it, there were mushrooms. I selected off of the regular menu for a reason bc I wanted all noodles. They took it upon themselves to give me lunch combination special anyways minus the soda with rice mixed into my food which I didn't want. So when I called the manager she was belligerent on the phone and would not send anyone back out to pick up the order that they did wrong. If I can give them zero stars I would... Unbelievably rude manager constantly placing blame on the customer. This veteran doesn't approve of this place. I took the food back to get my money back after work and she continued to say we ordered it with mushrooms. I had to ask several times to please just give me my money back, I am done talking about this. In leaving I stated that I will no longer be giving them my business. Quickly she says, "we don't like to go out to Fort Belvoir anyway, so yeah don't call anymore and order"... Who says that? Please Don't waste your money on this business, if you can call it that. They have horrible customer service. This place use to be better and especially customer service(the food is subpar). So we have ordered a few times from them hoping it will be better than the last. After hearing about this place, I decided to give it a try. I ordered beef and broccoli and colleague ordered hunan beef. The dishes didn't have that kick to it. The dishes were practically identical. The hunan beef didn't have a variety of vegetables I'm used to. The food here is plain and typical. I am curious what the other dishes in their extensive menu tastes like. I think I will continue going to China Cafe which is up the street for my typical carryout fare. I'm sorry...I don't mean to me cruel...but, the food was inedible. I ordered the ginger beef noodles and the cold sesame noodles. The noodles, on both dishes, were way overcooked, making them mush. The ginger beef did not have a hint of ginger...in fact, it was flavorless. I put 2 packets of soy sauce on it, and it still had no flavor.
