I should have taken note that majority of the reviews are old. I recently paid for Patti and her assistant to come to a house my girls and I were renting for my bachelorette so we can have a nice dinner without worrying about how we would get to a restaurant. Here was my experience: - The only two good things were the appetizers (everyone loved them) and the green beans. - The steaks were overcooked. Since Filet Mignon is a great cut of meat, thankfully they still tasted good but not as good as if they were cooked to our liking. The only people who got what they wanted were those who asked for medium well/well done. Now, in her somewhat of a defense, I found out later that the grill at the place we rented did not work properly, so she "had to cook the steaks in the oven". 1. She never once mentioned she needed a grill when I hired her months in advance. What was her plan if there wasn't a grill at all? 2. Has she never cooked a steak without a grill? My fiancé does it all the time and they're cooked medium rare to medium perfectly. There is a thing called a cast-iron pan. I don't even cook and I know that's an excellent way to cook a steak. - My poor friend found a short white hair embedded in her steak before she could even take a bite. (In case you're wondering, Patti has short white hair). She asked the assistant for a new steak and the assistant quickly picked off the white hair, threw it on the floor and then shuffled back inside. Later, my friend admitted that she could tell that she received the same exact steak back, just rewarmed. We also never received a real apology for that. - If there is such a thing as boxed instant polenta, that is what the polenta tasted like it was from. The texture for jello-y, it was cold, and bland. My sister liked it but it was her first time having it and has nothing to compare it to. Lastly, I found out after they left that they ruined my friend's charcuterie board. My friend's charcuterie board did not look like a cutting board. It had a deep ridge all along the edge and had a really nice finish. Yes, they used it as a cutting board and there were knife marks all over. Supposedly they were going to pay my friend $50 for it but never made an attempt to set up how they would pay her. Over the phone, Patti did apologize and said they apologized profusely but the damage was already done. I did not end up tipping Patti and I deducted $50 from their final payment and paid my friend directly for her ruined charcuterie board. Since many of us are foodies (being from San Francisco where there are a lot of great restaurants) I felt so embarrassed and upset with the whole experience since I was the one who chose, hired, and paid for Patti for what I thought would be a nice experience at my bachelorette party with my girls. read more

Chef Patti and her assistant Jane gave me and my girlfriends a delicious and fun dinner to remember for my bachelorette weekend in Guerneville! Patti was very easy to coordinate with over email about all the details for the meal. She graciously considered our group's mix of dietary restrictions and suggested creative dishes that everyone could enjoy, and prepared special plates for those who needed them. She and Jane were so much fun to hang out with as they prepped the food! Now for the important part: THE MEAL! I recently attended a great 60th birthday celebration at a lovely home in Bodega Bay and Patti catered the dinner for our party of 19 (half Texans, half Californians). From the abundant hot and cold appetizers to the perfect salmon and steak, Patti and her assistant made it seem effortless. Not easy to cook steak for Texans or salmon for Sonoma County -- everyone was quite happy with their meal. I recently hosted my 50th birthday party in Sebastopol. I had 27 people there, almost all from out of state, including me. From the first time I spoke with Patti over the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She was such a great partner to work with: very flexible with menu options, very open with feedback (she told me I was ordering too much food, and she was right!) asked questions that helped her recommend a menu and made great suggestions. The food itself was fantastic. There wasn't one dish I wouldn't order again. I had heavy, passed appetizers for the menu; Patti and her team were were so much fun - they were very unobtrusive during the event yet there was always food around. Patti created an amazing dinner for me and a group of friends who have numerous dietary restrictions which preclude the use of many oft-used ingredients. I was impressed by how nonplussed she was by the challenge, and how creatively and effectively she addressed it. The dishes she created were excellent and the flavors were out of this world. When you hire her, be sure to put her fall-off-the-bone short ribs and brussel sprouts with pancetta on the menu; you'll thank me later. Many of my guests are used to eating rather plainly because of their restrictions and they were delighted to be served truly delicious and creative dishes with complex flavor profiles. Halfway through the dinner the electricity went out. Patti simply turned on the flashlight on her iPhone, asked for some matches for the gas stove, and continued on without missing a beat. The kitchen was left spotless, the leftovers neatly packed and placed in the refrigerator, and everything was left exactly as she found it. Patti was a delight to work with from beginning to end; she was professional, warm and prompt, and she met every challenge with good humor. I went on an adventure in Dillon Beach with friends for a bachelor party. The organizer had Chef Patti come to our house and cook one evening. I have to say, I was very impressed. Patti came to a weekend vacation home we rented in Bodega Bay and catered my father's 70th birthday. It was a delicious meal that included a butter leaf salad, baked chicken with orange citrus (in the photos section), and tabouleh. The flavors were just right so you could taste the quality food and savory flavors. Her service was fast, she was polite, and thorough with the cleanup. We run a VRBO estate rental for large family groups or corporate off-site company retreats and a variety of other large group overnight stays. We recently hired Patti as a personal chef for a large group celebrating a birthday. Patti was very thorough in her correspondence and followed up with logistics, dietary needs, menu planning, as well as supporting local vendors and cooking with seasonal fresh food. She was efficient in her invoicing and her timeliness. The day of the event she came with her chef's hat, two assistants and served a beautiful antipasti for the guests while she prepared their dinner. I found Caper's & Co. on Yelp, called Patti on Wednesday, and she was able to whip up a delicious, healthy, and beautiful meal for 17 woman at a house we rented on VRBO. Patti came completely prepared, bringing everything she needed that wasn't listed on the VRBO site, along with an additional worker (Lauren) to help her. Both Patti and Lauren were lovely - friendly and helpful. But best of all, I could just relax and enjoy the party!!
