They were super jealous of our cabin and we definitely cannot blame them! A few nights were super chilly and the heat really made the cabin so cozy. The couple who runs these cottages are so nice and accommodating. It's the perfect location to enjoy the quiet side of Acadia. The shops and restaurants in southwest harbor are so close you could walk back to your cottage.

It was the most luxurious place I'd ever stayed! Tucked off the main street in Southwest Harbor, this is a quiet little spot with well maintained grounds and amazingly organized cabins. Top notch bed and pillows. It's about a twenty minute drive to Bar Harbor, but it's easy and quick once you get the feeling of the layout. The "office" has extra swimming towels, movies, and books about Acadia. It's really awesome how the owners, Tom and Vickie, care about their customers. A downside was barely seeing the owners! We went in during their office hours but didn't see them. We received an invoice, and I was sad to not chat within our 48 hours of staying there. The 10am check out also was pretty brutal. You also clean your own cabin, which is okay, but we made breakfast and tea- doing dishes while packing up and paying the expensive price before 10? That was not great. It's pricey here, but it's so luxurious and beautiful, it's worth the splurge.

Many of the motel rooms' stairs have been recently replaced. You can't beat the views of the water, boats, and favorite Beal's Lobster across the way. We use our deck daily, often enjoying morning coffee and tea and evening cocktails with others who come here regularly. If we arise early, we take a short walk to Clark Point Cafe for the best blueberry scones you have ever had. We walk uphill to Little Notch Bakery and Cafe for muffins, cookies, homemade breads, sandwiches, great pizzas, and gift items. Karaoke night is Saturday up hill at Next Level Sports Lounge. An ice cream shop, Eat A Pita and Cafe, Harbor Table, Red Sky, and Cafe Drydock are all walkable options for foods. The Ace Hardware store has just about everything. Great service too. If you don't mind an about five minute slow drive, the beautiful Claremont Hotel is a special place to enjoy drinks on their waterfront porch, lunch on the water at Batson Fish Camp, or treat yourself to a lovely dinner at the Little Fern restaurant there. I love their decor! Harry's bar is a stunningly cozy bar in the hotel. Try to stay at Harborview Motel and Cottages for the Fourth of July parade or the Pink Flamingo parade. Great fun for all ages! Now back to Harborview...If you like low key, Maine feel places to stay, Harborview might be for you. This multi generational family owned property is our favorite. Why? Water views, updates always occurring, responsive and friendly staff, reasonable rates, informality, walkability to Main Street dining and shopping, congenial guests, and its location on "The Quietside" of Mountain Desert Island/Acadia National Park. A number of folks have been spending their summers here for more than 20 years! We hope to be among them.

Everything about Harbour Cottage Inn from start to finish was perfect. The check-in was seamless and I was greeted warmly while being shown around the property. My room was clean and spacious with a large comfortable bed and soft linens. The bathroom had all the necessary toiletries and the shower had ample water pressure. I appreciated all of the little touches from the afternoon sweet treats in the common area to the thoughtful breakfast dishes. I appreciated the endless supply of coffee and the fresh lemon water. It was wonderful to sit and enjoy breakfast on the patio as well as an evening meal when the dining area turned into the Bowspirit. All of the meals were absolutely phenomenal and some of the best I had while visiting Maine. I would not hesitate to come back and stay here again. Preferably sooner rather than later! The accommodation was top-notch, and the hospitality was superb.

What a gem of a place !! Wish I could move in.
