    Private Dinner from Chef Perot overlooking the Napa Valley.

    I am a personal assistant to an affluent man in the Napa Valley that dines at the finest restaurants and we needed to find a personal chef to host a private dinner for 15 of his friends. I reached out to a couple of chefs and felt the most comfortable with how professional and informative Chef Perot was. We wanted a family style dinner to pair with our wines from our winery and Chef sent over the most amazing, decadent menu. My boss said it was the first time he received a menu that he didn't want to change and that's saying a lot! He started out with his staff serving 3 different passed appetizers to our arriving guests of Lobster corn fritters with Harissa Aioli, Truffle infused goat cheese croquettes with wildflower honey and Hamachi, brown rice chips topped with avocado, serrano chili. Then Family Style as requested, across the table started off with a warm baguette with sea salted honey butter to pair with the assortment of salads including a Butterleaf Salad, Brioche Croutons, Candied Pumpkin Seeds, Nectarines, Feta and Apple Cider Vinaigrette also a Heirloom Tomato Salad, Crispy Proscuitto, Persian Cucumber, Basil, Fried Green Tomatoes with white Balsamic reduction and a Melon salad with shiso, togarashi, sea salt and lime. After clearing this course off, he then served the most mouth watering steaks with herb roasted potatoes and a medley of sweet corn, squash and asparagus. Finalizing it with a warm heavenly chocolate cake dessert that was accented by his sumptuous Marcona Almond Brittle. Yumm! Chef Perot and his staff were amazing and so friendly. It was a pleasure to have someone come in, know what they are doing so I did not have to literally do anything and then they cleaned up without a trace. We have actually used him for more events and will continue using him. Highly recommend Chef Richard Perot!

What a nice surprise a trailer that isn't a taco truck. It's a small trailer packing a lot of flavor. Avertiszements were for a prime rib cheese sandwich. I was delighted to be greeted with a friendly positive attitude and in this time of isolation it's needed. The sandwich comes in a 4 inch for $7.50 and a 8inch for $15.00. Quality bread, great quality cheese, medium quality meat which is saying a lot for a food truck as most have low quality gristle. The onions and peppers melded together perfectly, they don't hold back on the amount of ingredients. Juicy meat the hole thing made my mouth water with each bite. I was worried I was drooling and kept wiping my mouth lol. I have had some steak sandwiches this by far was the best. My only complaint was the bread needed more toasting or a different bread as within 3 minutes it was soggy with that juicy goodness. As a side note if the business owners see this find space to relocate onto soscol between Wallmart and the tracks you will make a killing.

Matt and Patrick were extremely friendly and the food was to die for! We celebrated our microwedding in Mill Valley and I have always selected new restaurants based on yelps top reviewed restaurants. I figured this would be the best way to go to select a catering option for an area we're not local to or able to try before in person. The reviews did not steer us wrong. We would love to book again after experiencing the food and stellar service. Appetizers: We ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta which was one of my favorites! The tomatoes were fresh and every bite was memorable! The goat cheese croquettes were to die for and the braised pork shoulder had everyone coming back for more! Dinner: I'm not a huge kale person but we had an amazing kale Caesar salad that had me hoping I could recreate it at home. I honestly don't think there was any left over! It was accompanied by the grilled antipasto platter which complemented the lasagna dinner we had perfectly! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection! We had the classic bolognese lasagna and red wine braised boneless beef short ribs for our dinner option which were gone in the blink of an eye. We rented a home through VRBO and thought it would be a treat to have a catered meal from Epicurean Escape. The price was over $1000 but seemed well worth it and we paid the bill 10 days prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, if not unbelievably, we were alerted by VRBO the very next day that our contract was being cancelled as the rental house had just been purchased by a new owner. Thinking we might have to cancel the trip as VRBO might not have an alternative (they did not), we immediately contacted the caterer that we would have to cancel plans. This was 9 days prior to the planned dinner. The caterer then informed us that this was beyond their normal 10 day cancellation policy and there was nothing they could do other than a (hold your breath) 25% refund!! provide a 'credit' - a great idea for a group of 8 with most of us living thousands of miles away, or assisting us in relocating to a new venue. We eventually located a hotel where we could stay and proceeded with the trip - still very much disappointed with the caterer for not refunding our money with 9 days prior notice (along with forwarding them the note of cancellation from VRBO). With a $150 delivery fee charged by the caterer for delivery to our hotel, and no way for us to warm the food in our rooms, we anticipated the meal would arrive on serving trays with sterno heaters. But of course not.. The server who delivered the food was very nice and accommodating (we tipped them as well even though the paid contract already included an 18% gratuity fee). We began eating immediately, only to find all the food (fish and beef main courses) at room temperature. Perhaps everything would have tasted better had it been heated, but classifying the meal as 'mediocre' would be overly kind. Making matters worse (if that's possible), we have been promised a 'final' contract as three of the planned attendees could not attend, and the caterer agreed to 'adjust', only to never hear back from them almost 2 weeks later. Inflexible policy + less than thrilling meals = at least in my book, an experience worth avoiding at all costs. Caveat emptor.

    Please heed my warning (and those of the other most recent reviews!) and save yourself the time,…read moremoney, effort, and stress - hire literally ANY other caterer for your event. After months of poor communication and several displays of unprofessionalism, I tried to cancel our contract 6 weeks prior to our wedding date. I was in a dispute with the owner (Gabe) to try and get a refund for an event he hadn't even catered, and he refused to provide it. Note that the owner himself has stated that he thinks his business is headed to an end. See attached photo for text messages I received from him with this claim. If anything, you don't want to work with someone who cannot maintain a professional demeanor in their client correspondence. In case you need further convincing to NOT hire Ring of Fire, feel free to read through my ordeal below. --- In February of this year, I reached out in search of a wedding caterer. Gabe invited me and my partner to a complimentary tasting with other couples who were interested in booking. The tasting went great (the ONLY thing that went well in all my interactions with them) so we booked and paid a 50% deposit. Over the next few months I reached out to get deadlines and feedback on our proposed menu. After repeated attempts to contact him, the only time he really reached out was to offer a discount on our balance if we paid it early. In hindsight, this should have been a *red flag* - no professional would ever reach out to a client to ask them to pay something in advance of the contract terms unless they were poorly managing their business and finances. Instead, thinking it was gesture of customer service, we went ahead and paid our balance early to get the discount. However, after paying, Gabe unprofessionally asked us to reschedule our already confirmed site tour in favor of booking another lunch. My wedding coordinator and I agreed to reschedule, only to have him NO SHOW for the site tour. 15 minutes after the confirmed meeting time I called Gabe to get his ETA. He didn't seem to know where our venue was (even though he accepted a calendar event with the date, time, and address in it) and told me was still 50 minutes away so we proceeded without him. Had we waited, he would have been OVER AN HOUR LATE. At this point, I lost faith that ROF could cater my event. We were still 6 weeks away from our date so I requested to cancel our contract and get back the balance payment (that HE requested we pay early). Needless to say, he did not want to grant the refund. I worked with an attorney and determined the best course of action was to file a dispute with the credit card company AND to sue him in small claims court as backup. Luckily, the credit card company resolved the dispute in my favor but I still experienced an extreme amount of stress trying to book a new caterer with less than 6 weeks from my wedding date - something I would never wish on any bride. Again, please save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for your caterer.

    We hired Gabe & Ring of Fire in 2019 for our June 2020 wedding. We had come by to do a tasting and…read morehe had a huge spread ready for us and another couple. All of the food was delicious (and the artichoke dip is still my favorite thing ever). We were given the option to pay in full upfront so we did.  When Covid hit, Gabe was very understanding and accommodating about moving the date, which we did twice. We finally celebrated in June 2022, and unfortunately the team was dealing with some key staff out for Covid.  We were super happy with Gabe until pretty much the day of the wedding itself. He had previously said he was going to come by in the morning for setup but never showed up or answered our message asking if he was still coming. We were also supposed to have the big truck showcased on the property and they arrived with the smaller truck. Come to find out the big truck had been inoperable and they couldn't fix it that morning. When the staff started arriving, the first thing they tell me is how they're short staffed and needed to move their crew around, service might be slower, etc. This felt unprofessional especially since it all ended up being fine. We paid for 120 head count and only had about 90 ppl show up, so we told them to leave leftovers. I'm not sure what happened but we had zero leftovers, even though Gabe was saying we'd have a bunch. They also didn't serve coffee in the evening though we had paid for it. Overall we've gotten so much positive feedback on the food and bar, the crew was great, but the unprofessionalism in the final moments really left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure some of this had to do with the fact that we paid in 2019 and that doesn't feel fair given that it was an option he offered to us.

They have been around since I've been a kid and I've had the pleasure of eating their delicious grub at weddings, birthdays, baby showers (including my own), graduations, you name it! They offer a popular international menu which includes their trademark rotisserie chicken (my fave!) and several delicious Filipino entrees including pancit, menudo and a whole lechon! They also have a classic American menu (pasta, mashed potatoes, ham, chicken, roast beef, etc.). Their prices are fair and the food is so good! The owners, Joe and Frankie Santos and their family are amazing. They have a knack for simultaneously exuding professionalism and making you feel like family. Thank you Santos family for always providing A+ catering service to the Bay Area!

The pricing was fair and they offered food samples before we committed using them. The food was great and they made it so easy - they set everything up at the venue and came to pick it all back up at the end of the night! They advised us ahead of time to pick up some to-go containers which came in handy. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a local catering company!
