I rarely leave reviews like this, but the way this restaurant handled my order was extremely disappointing. I specifically ordered and paid for jerk chicken with ALL DARK MEAT through Uber Eats. Instead, the restaurant gave me all white meat chicken. When I returned with the incorrect order, I was told they didn't have dark meat available. My issue is not simply that they ran out of dark meat--restaurants run out of things. The problem is that they knew they didn't have what I ordered and still prepared and gave me something completely different without asking me if I wanted it. I was willing to choose another dish and even pay the approximately $4 difference for the more expensive item. Instead of trying to correct their mistake or offer a reasonable substitute, they refused and told me I would have to purchase an entirely new order and then dispute the original charge through Uber Eats myself. That is terrible customer service. If you cannot fulfill an order as placed, contact the customer, offer an appropriate substitution, or work with them to find a reasonable solution. Don't knowingly give someone something they didn't order and then make the customer responsible for fixing the problem. And after all of that, the food wasn't even good. The jerk chicken was excessively salty, to the point that the salt overwhelmed the jerk flavor, and the coco bread was stale. Between the incorrect order, poor handling of the situation, and disappointing food quality, this experience was absolutely not worth the money. There are far better Jamaican restaurants to spend your money at. read more

Service and the ambience was awesome. Our server was friendly and professional. I've been to Jamaica several times and wanted to try something new, I ordered curry seafood rundown with sorrel soda. My friend ordered the two protein combination. We could have shared hers! Her choices were oxtails and jerk chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese. I'm literally going back to order what she had. The curry was sweet with a little heat. The collard greens had some heat, too, but the Mac and cheese smooths it out. We would have gotten dessert but we had to rush to a concert. My friend says the desserts are exquisite. Tonight's special was a white chocolate bread pudding with Bailey's. I came back later!!! Dear Chef Rob: I love to support black owned businesses. However, I am incredibly disappointed with my recent visit for dinner for 2 Adults + 1 child & 1 takeout, which cost an outrageous $161.00. The prices here are completely unjustified and simply NOT worth it. To start, they refused to serve us regular tap water. When I asked for plain water, the server told me, "We don't serve plain water," forcing us to pay $3.00 per bottle, which added $9.00 to the bill JUST FOR WATER. On top of that, they automatically added an 18% gratuity to the bill for 2 adults & one child & 1 takeout, even though the service absolutely did not justify the 18% tip. The food portions are a COMPLETE JOKE for the price. I ordered the $12.50 "cookie pie" appetizer and was served four tiny, two-bite cookies. We ordered two Combination plates for $40.00 each, which comes with 2 proteins, we though the entree would be larger than the normal size b/c it states: " Serves 2"- that's a JOKE.. The large portion doesn't even serve a Mom & her 10 yr. The Curry Goat was mostly small bones with gravy. The Mac & Cheese was a DISASTER you can get better mac & cheese at Publix. The Jerk Chicken was 1 piece of charcoaled black chicken torn into 3 pieces. My daughter was still hungry after dinner & we went to another establishment to eat a hardy meal. Management should be ashamed of their pricing practices and tiny portions. It was a terrible value from start to finish, and I will NEVER EAT here again. I mean who doesn't love a good nickname but Chef Rob's must be short for "Robbery" because that's how I felt walking out of this restaurant. Although overall this location was clearly a vibe the prices, food standard, and serving sizes were not. My fella got the jerk chicken with two servings of rice. I'm not sure what the stipulation for a serving here is but they must be trying to have people leaving hungry. I got the jerk pasta with chicken and shrimp. The dish came out piping hot in temperature and lived up to the flame on the menu. It was very well seasoned and earned 50% of this review. The other 50% goes to good service and cleanliness. It is said to be two sides of rice, which I couldn't believe, with what seemed like a single thigh chopped up in small pieces. This place was very small and cluttered. The chicken was a little bit salty and the rice didn't have that much flavor. To my surprise there was a 18% gratuity dine-in charge that was automatically charged to my card. I am actually appalled at how many people said this is the best jamaican food-- it is far from it. Nothing, and I repeat, nothing had flavor. The mac and cheese had not a lick of seasoning. The consistency is what I really appreciate. We all know some restaurants, the food will be good one day, then too salty or bad the next ... Chef Rob's is consistently good! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, as I've tried almost everything ... some of my personal favorites are the jerk wings, curry chicken, & the oxtail. We decided to check out an oldie but goodie for Valentine's Day. Chef Rob's has been in this location for years and they're no longer a restaurant AND lounge but it still had great vibes. They offered a Valentine's Day menu for couples that was $125. It included 2 glasses of champagne, two salads, two entrees and share a dessert. We added the seafood dip as a starter. Everything was cooked to perfection and left plenty to take home. My sweetie wanted a veggie with his entree or switch mash for rice - no substitutions we were told. Also, no option for tap water - they offer $3 bottled water only. Hey, parking is free! Service was very attentive. We were offered two places to sit and we did move once a better table opened up. A live DJ started around 9 PM. There's lots of takeout activity but it didn't take away from the experience. Had this at a baby shower over the weekend and was so good had to come in. Came in for happy hour. The bar was full so we sat at a booth that was very intimate. Dim lighting but perfect feel. Gives a lounge feel almost. At the baby shower we had the oxtails, curry chicken, jerk chicken, macaroni and patties. Very very good! This review is strictly for the takeout experience and food. I cannot comment on the service because I did not dine in. Parking: there are two "takeout-only" designated parking spots right in front of the restaurant. It is located in a pretty busy strip mall/center, so the close spots reserved for takeout were very convenient. Food: Shrimp quesadilla - lots of veggies inside (mostly red onion, mushroom, and spinach). While they didn't go light on the shrimp, the shrimp are small size not large or jumbo. I'm not sure if you can ask for no veggies, so if you tend not to like those then I'd recommend skipping this entree. Both Entrees I tried were very good - I ordered a Curry Goat and Oxtail. Let's start with the oxtail. I know that serving size is usually an issue when ordering oxtail because some places try to give you 3-4 pieces that don't have a bunch of meat on them. Chef Rob's is NOT like most others - it was the most oxtail I've been served in a meal in a LONG time. My sides were Rice and Peas + plantain, so this meal is very filling and you probably will have leftovers. Between the two, I preferred the curry goat. I liked it so much, that I tried to eat it slowly so it would last longer :D. My chosen sides were Macaroni and Cheese and Collard Greens; such a tasty combination! So I came for drinks, the last time I was there, so I cant really give a proper assessment of the food (I have to come back to that). But the drink and the bartender was good. The customer service that we were given was really good and the drinks were pretty decent as well! They have free parking, so that is not something to worry about (since it is OTP). Its in the middle of a strip mall, so there are plenty other places to go to, and its walking distance. Overall it is a good vibe. We had to get ahead and order drinks with check to finish. The food was super good. Great flavor on the curry with a nice touch of heat. The menu looks great and would like to try other items. I went to this restaurant last week with a good friend of mine. This place is a lounge and during the Friday night hours there's a DJ and the music can be very loud. At times, I had to text my friend who was sitting right in front of me messages. The food was great and it flavored perfectly. My main reason for my deduction of two stars is due to the gratuity and service. The server was friendly however my meal came to over 70 dollars for oxtails and rice plate with a drink. I did my own math to discover that it was about 56 dollars and the service tip was 22 percent. Me and my friend went Dutch so I believed that's a pretty high gratuity rate for my meal. What I also noticed is that I didn't have the option to choose the gratuity percentage. Great aesthetic and good vibes for a date night but the whole customer service/gratuity left a bad taste in my mouth. Just giving my honest recent experience here. read more

I arrived early. I was seated quickly despite my party being late. The atmosphere was lively, the music was Caribbean. The weight staff were bustling around taking care of tables. The restaurant was clean and orderly. Once my friend arrived, we all ordered cocktails. Two of us had one punch and the other one had an old-fashioned with a maraschino cherry. Prior to the meal - I asked out lovely server if we can have separate checks. I was told that that would be no problem since it was only a party of three. My friends ordered mango chicken and the other, an oxtail dish. I ordered the combination of oxtail and curry goat. Everything came out hot and fresh... Even my not so garlic cocoa bread came out before the meal. At the end of our meal, the DJ arrived, and the spontaneous fog started. Cute vibes! Our server returned and asked us if we wanted one check or if we were going to be splitting the checks. To me that means that I would pay for what I bought and vice versa. To our server, that split the check three ways. An effort to just keep it pushing, We let it fly.. Because the service was good, we don't mind the 18% automatic ratatouille that's added to your check. It's been quite some time since I've had an opportunity to die in here. How overwhelmed I am with how great these crabcakes were. I love crabcakes and they did not disappoint. One bit. The same thing goes for their seafood dip now usually I'm kind of particular about it because a lot of places do not make a good seafood dip I love Pappadeaux seafood dip, but this one I have to say takes it to order another dish of seafood dip because it was so great. I will say that if you are a drinker, the Jamaican rum punch is very strong and I would advise you drink very slowly because it does catch up on you. Our server was great. She was very honest about her opinion about certain food items whether she liked them or hated them or hadn't tried them ever of course big on a hookah when I'm out enjoying myself I ordered a hookah or server did the hookah herself and it was perfect , because this is not a big establishment the servers as your food server and hookah server, but it doesn't take any time away from them giving you great service. The restaurant is small, but very functional and is not overcrowded with booth and tables, so you're able to maneuver to the bar or to the bathroom with ease. It is dimly lit so it provides an intimate setting for if you're on a date or if you just have a couple of friends having a girls or guys night out. They do have a live DJ I'm not sure if it's on certain nights or all the time but they managed the volume of the music well. We were able to hear ourselves throughout our entire conversation without having to yell over the music. The food was absolutely delicious and we will be back. Table for 4 for Lunch        I tried to make a reservation on OpenTable ahead of time, but this is only available for parties of 6 or more.  As I approached the restaurant, I noticed the ample parking lot. The parking lot is shared with other nearby shops and restaurants. Luckily, we found a spot not too far from the restaurant. As soon as we entered, the hostess scooped up a group ahead of us, and we were standing there for a few minutes, but another staff member greeted us to let us know that someone would be with us shortly (Thumbs up for the acknowledgement).  The hostess returned, seating us at a high top table.  We all quickly reviewed the drink menu. Wifey and I went for 2 authentic Jamaican Red Stripe beers, while my daughters opted for the Jamaican fruit punch.  For the main course, Wifey chose the Jamaican lobster rolls, which were really a special appetizer, but the server advised that you get 2 rolls, and she decided to make them her entrée with a side of plantains. My oldest turned an appetizer of 2 crab cakes into an entrée by adding rice and peas and sweet plantains. The youngest ordered the Blackened Mango Chicken with sweet potato fries and an extra side of plantains.   As for me, I went for the Curry Chicken meal, which came with 2 sides--Rice and Peas and Mac and Cheese. I also added a warm coco bread. Wifey's lobster roll arrived first, and there was a delay for the rest of the food. Our server apologized, explaining a mix-up where all the food was entered as an appetizer. Nevertheless, when the food arrived, it looked and tasted incredible.  Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious and well seasoned.  Although we considered dessert, everyone was just too stuffed, so we opted to pass. We requested three boxes for our leftovers and the check. The bill brought a little sticker shock as I learned that an 18% gratuity was already included. Despite the unexpected high cost, it didn't overshadow the visit. The food and hospitality/service were outstanding. Just came home from my vacation and had no idea what I wanted for dinner but knew I wasn't cooking anything. Stumbled upon this restaurant on Uber Eats and I am SO glad I did! Ordered the Jerk Pasta with diced chicken and salmon (requested it be made spicy with extra cheese) as well as crispy fried sweet plantains. The first thing I commend the restaurant for is that, although it took about 40 minutes for me to get my delivery, my food was PIPING hot when I received it. The pasta was cooked PERFECTLY, the right balance of soft yet still chewy. The cream sauce was wonderfully flavorful, and the spice level was exactly what I was looking for - you could taste the added spice, but it didn't overpower the flavors of the sauce, cheese, well seasoned chicken, or salmon - it complemented all those other flavors. The plantains could've been cooked a bit more crispy for my liking, but were delicious nonetheless. I don't ever think I've had a delivery experience where the food was basically received in the same condition it would've been if I had went to the restaurant myself, but that's exactly what happened with Chef Rob's for me. My friend ordered the cajun pasta with salmon and chicken .He got hard pasta with melted cheese on the top with watered pasta sauce .Flavorless. 12/21 - During our visit, the customer service we experienced was quite disappointing. From the moment the light-skinned woman took our drink order, we sensed a negative vibe. She seemed uninterested and unhelpful, particularly when we asked questions about the Jamaican-style drinks on the menu. She took the dish back to the kitchen and returned with a shrug, asking, "What do you want to do?" I requested to speak to the manager, but she informed me that he was unavailable because he was busy in the kitchen. I told her that this was unacceptable; in such situations, the manager should come out to address the issue. The waitress then asked, "What do you want to do? Would you like me to remove this from your bill, or do you want something else?" She did not apologize for the situation and seemed to make it my fault for being frustrated, which I clarified I was not. I'm trying to resolve the issue because he may be harmed by this unknown item, but I'm confused as to why a staff member cannot come out to discuss the situation. She was very rude, and her body language indicated that she had an attitude. It's disappointing to me that a Black-owned business would act this way. I asked for the check, which included an 18% gratuity for two people. Typically, gratuity is applied to parties of more than five, but apparently, they charge it regardless of the party size.
