I am so happy they opened this place. Orillia needs to expand their cuisine options. No korean, no West Indian, no middle eastern that I know of and I've searched this town far and wide for all the food options possible! There is one other Vietnamese place in town but this one has very good parking and the flavours are very authentic. I've had their ban mi sandwich, spring roll, pho, mango chicken and pad thai. Last night I asked the lady for chicken ban mi and somehow ended up with pork but it was too late because I was already home. They also loaded on the hot sauce which made it almost inedible. It was my fault because I went out to the car to wait while they made my order. They would have asked if I was inside. The only other thing to note is their pho beef is not thin sliced like I'm used to. It's more of a Chinese beef you find in a pepper steak recipe (the other Vietnamese place comes closer to traditional pho) Besides those comments the food is amazing and staff is very friendly. Can't wait to try some other things off the menu, however it's a bit pricey. Just a dollar or two over than what I'm used to seeing. BEST ASIAN CUISINE IN TOWN!!!!! We are so lucky to have Chef Simon in Orillia - this takeout spot is a welcome addition and a refreshing upgrade to Asian cuisine currently offered in our area. The owners are extremely friendly (Chef Simon is always popping out of the kitchen with a smile to say hello), the quality of ingredients is exceptional, the portions are fair and the prices are reasonable. HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST CURRY AND PHO I'VE EVER HAD!! I highly recommend those dishes as well as the basil beef, mango salad, cold rolls and Vietnamese spring rolls! The vegetarian options are delicious even for a meat-eater like myself (who knew sweet n sour tofu could be so good??) I'm slowly working my way thru the whole menu and loving every minute of it! Fantastic! We picked up two Tom Yum Noodle Soup (vegetarian) to go, for lunch. The vegetables were perfectly cooked - tender, but crisp, bright and fresh. The noodles were perfect. The soup broth hot (temperature) and nicely spicy. The portions were very generous. We probably could have shared. The broth and vegetables & noodles were packed separately, so there was no mushy noodle mass to contend with. The place was clean and bright and a few tables meant that we could have stayed to eat in (we planned take out). The leftovers heated up well the next night - a quick toss in the wok with some extra bagged veggies (kale slaw) and we had another dinner for two. We will definitely be back!! read more

We waited a while for this place to open since there is only one other PHO soup restaurant in Orillia. We were pleasantly surprised by the owners warm welcome. Their beef noodle soup was excellent, with the beef count being over the top. Especially satisfying was the home made broth, which was very flavorful. My wife had the Vermicelli bowl, a tasty combination of fresh ingredients. We hale from Toronto and have eaten many a bowl of PHO soup. Absolutely delicious ! Had the Bahn Mi sandwich combo which was really substantial......almost enough for two. Super tasty grilled meat with marinated matchstick vegetables and a sauce that was spicy, savoury and a little sweet on a crispy light baguette. It came with a really large and really tasty Thai springroll with dipping sauce and a homemade fruit ice tea. All of this for $6.95 ! It can't be beat. Simon's kitchen has quickly become my favourite restaurant. I try something different every time, and am yet to be disappointed. The Vietnamese rolls are awesome, and the Pho is the best I have ever had. The fresh ingredients and delicious spices are beyond what you would expect from a take out place. Best Thai Green curry in town! This restaurant is mainly take out only but does have seats to serve probably a small group of 6 comfortably. The beef pho is delicious too and the fresh spring rolls are a must try. I usually order online and pick it up and it is always ready and still piping hot by the time I get home. Had Chef Simon's for Mother's Day. Have been wanting to try it for some time now and I was not disappointed. Friendly service and delicious food for a reasonable price! Calm seating environment and quick service. I am from out of town and stopped in to kill time and grab a quick meal.
