Fried Chicken Fried Rice & Kung Pao Chicken

One of my favourite restaurants to always stop by whenever I'm at the Blue Mountain village! This place has the most delicious food with such great vibes as well! Make sure you make a reservation in advance, as they get quite busy! Love the gyozas and fried rice, highly recommend you check it out! 9/10 recommend!

I came here on a Wednesday evening and it was really busy. The service was a little bit slow, but the ambiance inside was very cozy. It's a perfect spot to come with family or for a date. They have a diverse menu, including sushi, dim sum, small plates, noodle, and rice. The brussels sprouts were really good and light. The fried chicken on the rice was flavourful, but the rice was really hard and dried out. The sushi was mediocre. The food is decent compared to some of the other options around the village. Can't compare it to the restaurants in Toronto, but it was a nice meal and I would come back again.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, it felt very romantic and luxurious. We went for dinner ordered two cocktails, which came out with lovely presentation and tasted very good. They also definitely had a good amount of alcohol in it which I always appreciate. The food was very tasty too, however, I was surprised to find the wagyu came out separate from the chow mein, I expected it to be chunks of wagyu incorporated into the dish. The chow mein was delightfully crispy and tasty, although the sauce was kind of concentrated at the bottom of the plate. The bao was very good as well. The only reason I'd be docking some points is because of the Wagyu coming out seperately and the fact it took maybe 1 hour for the food to come out, it was a very long wait time. The staff was great though and overall would return again when I'm in blue mountain!

Beautiful restaraunt with relaxing ambience and fireplace. Delicious shrimp dish and we enjoyed the chicken fried rice. Service was quick and friendly.

This did not live up to my expectations at all. While the ambiance and service was awesome, the actual food wasn't great. The pad thai was way too sweet for my liking and the truffle fried rice didn't have the truffle mixed in? Which may be a presentation thing but was annoying to mix in. Even after mixing in, truffle fried rice was dry. The lumpia was really good though! Have a feeling the apps here would be better than the mains

Best asian fusion cuisine in the resort village. Would highly recommend if you want to try something different and experiment with new flavors from the other places in the area. Chic ambiance and attentive service as well. Food: For appetizers we got the soup dumplings and lumpia. We're filipino, so the "lumpia" here was NOT lumpia, but two veggie spring rolls cut in half and served filling side up with fancy garnish. It was delicious, but pretty pricey for the portion. The soup dumplings were okay, the flavor was there but the wrapper was WAY too thick. Also wished it came with more, and maybe a black vinegar dip with ginger slices for the price. My dad ordered the lobster and scallop xo, mom ordered the beijing beef, brother ordered pad thai, and I got the bulgogi braised short rib. Everything was absolutely delicious, generously portioned and packed with flavor, and we all scraped our plates bone DRY. I can't even properly describe how good the bulgogi braised short rib was. It was buttery soft and had the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I also really loved that this fusion dish came with rice instead of mashed potatoes, like how short rib is usually served at other restaurants. My family was really happy with their food as well. Would highly recommend, but honestly save your money because you don't even really need the appetizers from how full the entrees get you. Service: Our server was kind and attentive, very accommodating towards my brother's allergies to make sure there were no peanuts in the pad thai. Consistently topped up our water and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The host that night was really cool too. Ambiance: I love dark and intimately lit places, but my parents feel the opposite and prefer the places they eat to be brighter. The seats were nice and comfy and the place was beautiful inside, and the dinnerware was classy.

Loved the ambience here! It was dimly lit, great music and a lively atmosphere. Would highly recommend a reservation during busy seasons. I ordered the chili chicken which doesn't come with rice - so I ordered it on the side. Was quite a lot of food and wished that I ordered something else actually as I was a bit let down by this dish. It had good flavor and was the perfect amount of spice but I felt perhaps this was a better dish shared amongst friends? Would love to come back and order something else off their menu! :)

We tried Mother Tongue based on reviews we had read. Starting with the appetizers, we had bothe the Steamed Edamame and Dynamite Shrimp. Both were really tasty and well presented. For our main entrees we had Fried Chicken Fried Rice and Bulgogi Beef Short Ribs. These were well portioned and well seasoned. I wish I had taken photos! The staff were great and worked well together which was nice to see. The place had a real cool vibe and is in the middle of Blue Mountain Village.

Beautiful restaurant in the Blue Mountain Village. Located by the water. The inside is so gorgeous and beautifully decorated, we sat outside though as there was an orchestra playing in Mill Pond. Servers were really nice and attentive. Food was so good and satisfying. A fusion of different Asian dishes. Alcoholic drinks were STRONG and delicious. We will be coming back whenever we are in this part of Ontario.

On the last days of our trip, my friend and I checked out Mother Tongue. ----- The Breakdown: Mother Tongue | 9/10 | $24 (rice); $14 (dumplings) The ambiance here was fire especially at night. It's definitely more laid back. I had their drink, juicy dumplings and fried chicken fried rice. The rice was so flavourful, it had fried chicken and was topped with cabbage. My fave! It could use a bit more char. Szechuan Fish Fillet in Peppercorn Chilli Soup (4/5) which had tender and perfectly poached fish fillets. We wish it was spicier but otherwise this dish was tasty and full of fragrant spices. Egg & Chive Pancakes (4/5) was packed with filling and the pancake had a really crispy texture on the outside but soft on the inside. It had glass noodles inside as well. It has a faint aromatic flavour that wasn't too overpowering. We poured some of the Szechuan peppercorn chilli soup inside too which tied in all the flavours together.

The Dim Sum items we ordered (3) were excellent, but the Spicy Beef dish was very mediocre. The beef was tough and dried out... With way too much cilantro... Honestly not very good, nor was the portion very large for the $23 price. I also ordered a steamed rice which was hard and frankly tasted like a packet of Uncle Ben's Minute Rice. Service was quite slow considering the place only had 3 tables including ours. Overall I would not come back... Price was very high, at $66 before tip, for what we got and really not very good. Won't go back.

But The food, the food was just average, average at best Nothing spectacular however not horrible. Food deserves 2 stars The topper is the price. I came at 9:30 am and there was no special price for small, medium and large. It was all menu priced. That's a first for my dim sum experiences. 1 star for price And 3 stars all together, that's already very generous. I would caution a recommendation as I won't be back ever again

I went on a weekday, they were really busy with take out orders and walk ins with people getting their frozen dim sums. The only downside is they no longer have dine in available which is fine, I usually just take it to go and either eat in the car or find a park nearby. The prices have gone up a little bit over the years but that's normal with previous pandemic and inflation. It's still decent. I would say it's still the cheapest and most affordable dim sum place you can find in the area. They have the usual shrimp dumplings, siu mais, sticky rice with pork, bbq buns and plenty of other variety. We got quite a bit for lunch and also picked up some frozen ones so I can get my dim sum fixed at home. Hands down, I would be back when I run out of frozen dim sum even if it means driving 1.5 hrs to get here.
