My son ordered the BTLA and I ordered the Cheesy Panini with crunchy lettuce and heirloom tomato slice. We split a bag of Mediterranean Herb chips from their mercantile part of their deli/cashier area. Highly recommended! Ordered the taco salad (which was mostly lettuce) and I did have to order three different dressings to get it to my liking. The pastrami sandwich was very good and fulfilling. The potato salad was awful. It tasted like it was potato and dill without any mayo/dressing. I like the environment- fun music - lots of Vegan sweets and specialty Vegan items. The waitress forgot our drinks and when we ordered avocado on the side for taco salad (we found it odd not to have avocado on taco salad) our waitress forgot to give it to us or to order it with cooks. I was in Palm Desert for a few days and ate at Chef Tanya's every single day. Everything was absolutely wonderful, as was the service and location. The items in the shop are unique and delightful. If only we had one of these extraordinary restaurants in San Diego! The softest sweatshirts are available for purchase, I would love to purchase a Chef Tanya "eat plants" sweatshirt in the future without the additional phrase on the back. Claims to be a health conscious eatery but has no "real" gluten free options. No GF bread, even the tortilla chips contain wheat, GF muffins were in the same case as regular muffins! The only kids option was chips and guacamole with jicama roots. Super disappointing read more

Visiting my moms in Palm Desert, and so excited that me and my daughters have a new vegan option. My mom even ordered the taco salad she is very picky and she is a meat eater. So you can rest assured your non-vegan family members can order and will be love the selections. I wish I took a photo of the food, but we ordered 3 dishes and 3 desserts and loved all. I can't wait to come back and bring my other daughter. Definitely recommend ! One very small issue is we ordered it from door dash and the hot and cold sandwich were in same bag and it caused the baguette for the cold sandwich to become soggy. This is no fault to the restaurant, as if we ate there or picked it up ourselves this wouldn't have happened. So they still get 5 stars!! read more

Delicious food, "grocery" items and plant based ice cream. Lots of grocery items to take home including freshly made items such a vegan dressings. Food tastes healthy and fresh. The restaurant itself is impressive with its open and spacious layout, and the added touch of interesting grocery items and a dessert station only adds to its charm, although I didn't have a chance to try the desserts. For non-vegans, the menu offers plenty of delicious options that you'll either enjoy tremendously or at least find acceptable. However, for those following a vegan or whole foods plant-based diet, you'll be thrilled with the extensive and diverse menu options available. If you are vegan then there is a wonderful menu with lots of choices. If, more specifically, you are a whole foods plant based person you will also have several choices. At first glance the salad looked like standard fare, but it was a couple of notches up from that since it contained greens in perfect condition, a delicious pickled cabbage, some radish and a dressing that had none of that bottled taste that troubles me. I also had the chili, which was tasty and unique. With beans and greens taken care of I splurged on the cubano sandwich, which I laced with hot sauces (there is a good selection). I don't normally eat things like this, so it was quite a treat and also included an enjoyable amount of cruciferous greens. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back to Chef Tanya's read more

The place is big, about a block long.its a store, desert place ,food with a surplus of books for sale. Everything is so over priced. Our bill was $66.00 for 2 people that included the tip, yes expensive 2 sandwiches,mediocre fries and 2 sugary drinks. If there's a next time I'll skip the drinks and the tip. There were a lot of staff everywhere you looked, the disappointment was at the end. We wanted desert and had to wait in line for the one person in this whole establishment that could ring us up, we left without desert. read more

Review of the Coachella Forever salad. It was delicious probably the best thing and healthiest thing I've had at any stop during my road trip/vacation. It's similar to how I prep meals at home so I was thrilled with the menu choice and the flavors. I felt really good after I ate. I had just done a hour hike and was famished. It's really pleasing to eat, feel satisfied and not feel sluggish. I wish I had choices like this back home when I don't feel like cooking. Looking forward to another meal here before I head off again on my road trip. My husband had the Bahn Mi. He was also very happy with his choice. Chef Tanya's is my favorite place to get vegetarian/vegan food in the Valley. The staff is incredible and super friendly. I always come here for their unique specials. The spicy José and their fresh cookies are my favorite. The Spicy José is the perfect amount of spice and flavor and their cookies are soft and sweet. The daily Agua Fresca's are always a hit. They are refreshing, especially during the summer heat. So glad they have a location in Palm Desert now. I would eat here once a week if I could. Highly recommend to everyone to at least try this place once, even if you aren't vegan or vegetarian. Everyone can find something they like at Chef Tanya's. read more
