    Spicy Avocado Salad
    Hurnan V.

Came here for a quick lunch! The service was friendly and fast. We got the spicy avo salad which had the most delicious dressing, in addition to a good heaping of fresh veggies and alfalfa. The sandwich was "Daniel's best" which was also decadent and filling. The interior was cute and cozy, like an old timey deli. Would recommend for a quick bite! Free parking lot at the front!

We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for an early lunch. The staff was friendly and courteous. The #4, Turkey Pesto is my favorite. Hubby loves tuna sandwiches and this was a great sandwich in his opinion . Whenever we are in Palm Desert this will be our sandwich place. Thanks!!

This little spot makes delicious sandwiches on a very nicely seeded and tasty gluten free bread. I was assured that my sandwich would be made with a clean knife and in a separate area of the kitchen to prevent cross contamination. Very fresh and delicious sandwiches! I will be back!

First time here and I'm in love! I ordered the blueberry lemonade, which is fabulous and the Daniel's best on squaw bread delish

Order pickup if you can instead of delivery so you can double check that they actually got your order right. My sandwich, The Hottie, is almost $20 and of course they left off one of the most expensive parts of the sandwich which is the layer of avocado... the bread is also advertised as a delicious sounding jalapeño bread but it just tasted like any type of bland bread. This is something you can make way better at home.

Game here twice back to back and got the hot Italian sandwich aka the Bruschetta Italian. The staff is amazing and the food is so good. The bruschetta on the sandwich was chefs kiss!

This place was AMAZING! My family and I were in town for a family wedding, and so we flew into PSP in the morning. After exploring the area in the morning, we wanted a late lunch before checking into our Airbnb in Palm desert. I stumbled upon this place in my search for some healthy food & we decided to try it. The inside seating is really small, but we got lucky and were able to find a table for 4. It's an order at the front & pick up type of spot. Since we were starving, we ordered with our stomachs: 1 strawberry sunflower salad without meat & nuts, 1 spicy avocado salad, 1 potato salad, 1 blueberry lemonade, and 1 CEO sandwich. Everything was OUTSTANDING!! The service down to the food. We loved it so much that we ordered the same meal 2 days later for lunch again. Absolutely recommend to anyone reading this review!

What a hidden gem! Sandwiches are fresh and tasty. We tried Dads potato salad. Love the dill. Great service. All staff was hustling as the crowd grew. Charming decor. Love the signage. Overall excellent choice for lunch.

    Special BLTA sandwich!

My colleague and I arrived around 2:00 p.m. today and decided to try this highly rated lunch spot. I ordered the special, a BLTA sandwich with chips and a drink for $15 which was an excellent value. The sandwich was good and fresh prepared quickly, and the service was efficient. The restaurant itself is small and located in an industrial area, but it's nicely decorated, quaint, and very clean. You place your order at the counter, and they call your name when it's ready. Overall, a pleasant experience and a great choice for a quick lunch.

Yelp you never disappoint! Thanks to the recommendations of my fellow Yelpers, we ventured out of our usual delis and found The Lunch Spot. Don't let its industrial location keep you from coming to this casual, family owned deli, because you will miss out on the "bougiest" sandwiches, soups and salads in town! We were here on 11/1/25 and split the chicken and veggie soup, Strawberry w/Blueberry salad and the Hottie chicken Sandwich. The soup was hearty with lots of shredded chicken and veggies. I would love a bowl of this any day! We ordered the strawberry and blueberry salad- with fresh greens, pecans, cranberries, red onion feta cheese and a balsamic dressing. This was amazing, fresh, and an excellent accomplishment to the sandwhich. Speaking of the sandwhich- I think this just may be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! We ordered and shared "The Hottie" and you can think of it as the spicy version of your chicken salad sandwich. We had it on Squaw bread and it was maybe 2 inches thick thanks to the generous amount of chicken, alfalfa and avocado. If you like spicy and a bit of a kick- order this! The flavors, quality, freshness and uniqueness of their menu have earned The Lunch Spot my 5 stars! Can't wait to return.

    Seasonal Berry Bliss salad while
    Natasha W.

Wow! The Lunch Spot definitely had the feeling of being a local secret treasure since it is tucked in an industrial warehousing area. Don't let the location or size fool you, however. The front entrance is charming with its limited outdoor seating and sandwich board. Inside is quant and cozy. You'll order at the window and then find a seat. The food was super fresh! It was definitely representative of California fare. The service was incredibly helpful when it came to choosing the perfect meal. I finally settled on the seasonal Berry salad while my hubby chose the honey ham panini. We both washed it down with the blueberry lemonade. If you're in the Palm Desert area on vacation or just a round of golf, work this one into your schedule. You won't be disappointed.

My hubby brought us home this for lunch today and it did not disappoint. We went by last Saturday but did not realize they are closed on the weekends and during the week they close at 3pm, that's the only bummer. But the Love club sandwich was so gooood! That garlic aioli just brings all the flavors to this sandwich, my favorite!! Daniel's best sandwich was also really good. The sandwiches are fresh, well made & packed down with plenty of meat. I will def be back to try this place, again & again... & again! :)

It's been 3 days and I still think about the best tuna sandwich I've ever had. So light and tasty, refreshing. Did not feel gross or heavy after. Loved every bite!! Staff was super nice also, place was cute and inviting :)

Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.

My sandwich was great. Told Marc the owner who served us, this is gonna be the best meal of my day. I got takeout with steak and eggs and the onion soup for my son (clearly I'm spoiling him). Why is no one talking about this place?!!!…read more I can say this place is one of those rare finds you measure other meals against afterward. I stumbled on The French Corner while driving cross‑country, expecting another forgettable meal- and instead walked into what felt like an old‑world kitchen with a dash of current period wrapped in quiet romance. The room has a warmth and charm that you just don't see anymore: soft, unpretentious, intimate, like being welcomed into someone's home rather than processed through another restaurant. In a country where corporate dining has made every exit start to look the same, this felt almost unreal, like I'd slipped into a little pocket of time that somehow survived. We came in the morning and started with pastries, and that's when I realized this wasn't an ordinary stop. The pastries were next‑level: delicate, rich, clearly made with quality ingredients and real care. You taste butter, you taste texture, you taste intention. It was one of those moments where you look across the table and both of you know--you've found something special. We were so impressed that we didn't just talk about coming back; we had to come back that same day for dinner, which they've only recently started serving again since covid, and it felt like being let in on a secret. The food carried that same homemade soul the pastries promised--deep flavor, thoughtful seasoning, nothing rushed, nothing generic, fresh vegetables etc It was the kind of meal where conversation lingers, bites are shared, and you suddenly realize hours have slipped by without you noticing. There's an intimacy here that no chain restaurant can manufacture. As someone who's spent years chasing good food from the road, I can say places like this are heartbreakingly rare--far and few between, and fragile in the best way. I already know I'll be pining to return, measuring future road trips against the hope that I can swing by again. If you're anywhere within reach, don't wait or assume it'll always be there. Go now, sit down, and experience it while you still can.

ONE STAR IS MORE THAN THIS PLACE DESERVES... I don't ask for…read morerefunds. I don't expect free food. I rarely leave one-star reviews. But this was genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years, and people deserve to know what they're walking into. This was supposed to be a family outing which included an elderly woman in her 90s. We chose this restaurant because of its glowing reviews, and after this experience, I honestly cannot fathom HOW it maintains such a high rating. Half of our table specifically came here for the "Pollo a la Brasa" - one of the most recognizable dishes at any Peruvian (this is also Columbian) restaurant. After we were seated, and spent time looking over the menu, it was time to order and our server informed us they were all out of the chicken. The problem wasn't just that they ran out... It was how everything was handled afterward. Our server insisted on speaking Spanish, and once it became obvious that not everyone at our table spoke Spanish, his attitude noticeably changed. Instead of helping us navigate the menu after the restaurant had run out of one of its signature dishes, he acted irritated that we needed a few extra minutes to decide on something else. Keep in mind we were dining with a woman in her 90s. We weren't lingering for fun--we were forced to rethink our entire order because the restaurant didn't have one of the main reasons we all came. Yet he came back multiple times looking impatient, irritated, and making us feel rushed for absolutely NO reason. We placed our order. Then another server walked by speaking English. We asked if running out of chicken was normal. His response... "The chicken will be done in about 10-15 minutes." That completely changed everything. So instead of our server telling us to wait 10-15 minutes for fresh chicken, he rushed us into ordering something else. Why?! If someone had simply communicated that information from the beginning, half our table would have gladly waited. Instead, we were pressured into substitute orders... And here's the kicker... After rushing us to order, Our food didn't arrive for another 45 minutes anyway. So, what exactly was the rush?! I ended up settling for the Lomo Saltado. I ordered my steak medium rare. It arrived Well-Done. DRY. Tough. The plate was mostly onions and fries with very little ACTUAL steak... Then came the seasoning--or lack of restraint of. Everything was so salty that it overwhelmed every other flavor on the plate. Not seasoned... SALTY. The kind of salty where after two bites you're reaching for water because that's literally all you can taste. Considering they're charging premium prices, neither the quality nor the portion justified the cost. I'm no newbie to this type of cuisine, I've eaten Peruvian food many times, and my regular spot in Los Angeles serves a Lomo Saltado that's significantly better for less money. As if that wasn't enough, one of the servers spilled water directly onto my phone. No apology. No acknowledgment. She simply looked at me confused and walked away as if nothing had happened. The atmosphere didn't match the prices either. The furniture and decor felt inexpensive while the menu prices suggested a much more polished dining experience. Throughout our meal there was constant traffic in and out of the kitchen that made the restaurant feel chaotic and disorganized. Nothing about the operation matched the premium image they're trying to project. What made it even more disappointing was seeing someone who appeared to be supervising or managing the restaurant - doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to address any of it. No one checked on our table. No one apologized. No one asked how the food was. No one seemed remotely interested in whether customers were actually enjoying their experience. By the end of the meal, my family and I just wanted to leave. The only reason we stayed, and didn't run for the door, was because we were with elderly relatives, and moving everyone again would have been much more stressful than simply enduring the rest of the experience. Between running out of their signature dish, poor communication, being rushed to order for no reason, waiting 45 minutes anyway, inattentive service, water spilled on my belongings - without an apology, overpriced food, an overcooked steak, tiny portions of meat, and food so salty it was barely enjoyable, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. The photos I'm posting speak for themselves. I came because of the reviews. I won't be back because of the experience. Save your money. There are far better Peruvian restaurants that actually earn their reputation. This one didn't earn mine.
