The Lunch Spot was frequently recommended by others so I was excited to try it. Staff were friendly. I ordered two sandwiches. The #14 The House,,and #11 Love the Club. I especially enjoyed the #14 The House. It's a house-made chicken salad with nuts and cranberries and comes with sprouts, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper on Squaw Bread. The cranberries adds a mild sweetness which balances out the mayo and the nuts adds another layer of crunchy texture and flavor which I loved. If I were to be honest, I wasn't too crazy about their bread. On both sandwiches, it was soft which was good, yet at the same time, just a bit stale. While the sandwiches initially seemed loaded, most of the ingredients are right in the middle of the sandwich where they slice it in half, so while it's very visually appealing, there's basically a ring near the crust of the bread that didn't have much toppings. As far as the Love The Club sandwich. I think they are a bit heavy handed with the salt. The sandwich was too salty. At $33 for two sandwiches, it's also a tad bit pricey. We stopped by here for lunch and we are SO thankful we did. We found this fantastic spot by asking Chat GPT best lunch restaurants in the area. The vibe is casual and welcoming. We beat the lunch rush (got there a little before 12:00) and it just got busier and busier. You order at the counter and the guy that helped us was friendly and gave great suggestions. There were so many great options on their menu that we had a hard time deciding on what to order. Their special sold out right after we ordered which was a tri-tip sandwich. Normally on vacation we don't eat at the same place twice so we can try more places, but if we were to make an exception it would be for this place. I live really close by and found myself walking by after dropping off my car for service right around the corner. Problem was, it was only 8:45am. Saw an employee walking in and he told, me in a very welcoming way, that they open at 9am, and have amazing breakfast specials, as well. Before they opened, I looked up Yelp reviews, and saw the menu. I already had a lunch sandwich in mind. But, once they opened, I checked out the Breakfast blackboard, and I zeroed right in on the Breakfast Panini. Anything on sourdough, with avocado, is my favorite. I waited to write this review until I got my bank statement today. A few weeks ago, I ordered a Daniel's Best sandwich and a Spicy Avocado Salad online for pick up. It wasn't busy yet since the store had just opened. I picked up my order and left. Anyway, when it was time for me to eat lunch about two hours later, I discovered that my Spicy Avocado Salad had no avocado. I called the sandwich shop and informed them that I had no avocado in my salad. They asked if I could come back but I am not a local to Palm Desert so I couldn't drive back. They offered me a refund on the phone which I accepted. However, when I received my bank card statement today, there was no credit for the salad. I was disappointed about this and the salad. Stumbled upon The Lunch Spot and found that they had awesome sandwich options, all customizable, and can be panini pressed. The Turkey Pesto and the Turkey Bacon Ranch were soooo good. All the ingredients were delicious and very fresh. The Potato Salad was also very good. They accept phone orders and the service was very quick.
