Chairman of the Board on Dutch Crunch Bread
    Eddie J.

Looking for a good lunch spot in downtown Palm Springs? Then head over to The Sandwich Spot on North Palm Canyon Drive, located in the Henry Frank Arcade. Order at the counter and find a table inside or out on the patio. Recommendation: Try the Chairman of the Board sandwich with Ham, Salami, Prosciutto, Provolone & Italian Dressing on a Dutch Crunch Roll. So good!

Delicious! Do yourself a favor and stop looking for another lunch spot and grab a sandwich from this shop! From the amazingly warm welcome we received when we entered, to the absolutely delicious deli sandwiches this place does it right! They even have a kids menu which hits all the perfect offerings - including a grilled cheese. Yum!

    The Grand Slam

I stopped by The Sandwich Spot for lunch and picked up their The Grand Slam ($14.75) on Dutch crunch -- Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef & Cheddar. The Dutch crunch roll here is seriously on another level. Unlike most Dutch crunch rolls where only the top is crunchy and the bottom is soft, the bottom of the rolls here are toasted to perfection. If you're looking for monstrous sandwiches towering with half a pound (or more) of pure deli meat, you won't find that here. Instead, you'll find carefully crafted, delicious, well-balanced sandwiches. The Grand Slam I ordered had the perfect ratio of meats to veggies. The included pickles provide a refreshing tang to counter the richness of the mayo. The leafy green lettuce was fresh and I thought they added just the right amount of their secret sauce -- olive oil, garlic and herbs, on top. I would definitely stop by again for a sandwich here next time I'm in Palm Springs. If you're coming around lunch, expect there to be a line, so plan accordingly.

So many choices- it was hard to pick! The monthly special Philly cheese steak was sooo good. The #2 was also great since I wanted some fresh veggies. The crunch on the bread is so good! Service was quick and friendly. Great lunch spot to grab and go!

A local had told us to try this place for lunch. Everyone seemed to rave about the Dutch crunch bread, so I got my Italian sub on that, while my partner got his Italian sub on sourdough. To be honest, I wish I had followed his lead. Is the Dutch crunch bread, crusty and crunchy? Absolutely. But for me, it was so crusty/crunchy that it almost hurt to bite into it. The crunchiness of it was very sharp to the inside of my mouth, and really took away my enjoyment of the sandwich. The restaurant itself is the kind where you order it the counter, and then you seat yourself and they call your name when it is ready. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and it is kept very clean. My partner loved his sandwich, but I definitely wasn't a fan of the crunchy bread.

Once again it's delicious sandwich time. It's busy this Coachella weekend. The sides are as delicious as their sandwiches.

This was my second time coming here when coming to Palm Springs because it's just such a quick, easy, and yummy lunch spot. They have so many great options that it was hard to pick which one to get lol. I ended up getting The Dinah on a sourdough roll. Everything was super fresh and it was a great portion. The grilled chicken was not dry at all, which is normally my main concern when ordering chicken. They were also very generous on the avocado which I loved.

Across from the Hyatt in The Henry Frank Atcade sits the most amazing little sandwich shop I have ever been to. We will definitely be back. My wife and I shared the chicken pesto sandwich on sourdough with The Bomb Sauce. It was incredible. There are so many delectable looking sandwiches we have to go back. It as a cute warm atmosphere and the staff is incredible.

The Sandwich Spot is an excellent place to have a quality sandwich. The location itself is warm and welcoming, with staff greeting you as you walk in. There is art decorating the walls and music that sets a fun vibe. The staff are helpful and kind, and didn't mind my questions since I've never been. It's a small spot, but there is extra seating outside with shade. I ordered the "But it's a dry heat" and my wife got "the Dinah." The ingredients taste fresh, and the marinated chicken is juicy and flavorful. The "Dutch crunch" bread added a pleasing crusted Parmesan-like texture to the sandwich that I enjoyed. The menu has variety and there are some desserts to choose from if you have a sweet tooth. We paid $38 for two combos, which was a steep price, but given the experience it was worth it. Thanks, Sandwich Spot!

Wow....not much to say other than you need to stop here! I went with The Djokovic and even went back the following day to order the same thing. I've never had anything like the Dutch Crunchy bread they offer...Expect a decent 10-20 min wait when they're busy but they do a great job cranking them out as well as overall customer service. The photo doesn't do the sandwich justice but let it be a tease of what's to come!

Pastrami and mustard with hardly any pastrami
    Josh B.

I was staying at the Hyatt across the street and decided to check out The Sandwich Spot. I ordered my classic go to order of Pastrami and Mustard. They don't have rye so I went with the French roll. It was sub par and underwhelming! Hardly any meat and the meat that was on it tasted like something you'd buy at Ralph's. This place is basically a Jersey Mikes. I decided not to finish my sandwich and walked over to Sherman's which is what I should have done in the first place but I went against my better judgement to try something different. My mistake.

Very friendly & helpful staff! I was greeted as soon as I was walked in & asked if I had any questions about the menu. They even offered suggestions based on what I typically like in sandwiches. The sandwich itself was just okay. There was way too much cream cheese, it just made me feel sick. It overpowered the bomb sauce. I love dutch crunch bread but this was way too hard. It was difficult to bite into. The turkey and vegetables were fresh. Maybe next time I'll try a different sandwich.

The Sandwich Spot rating is a bit of an enigma. Could range anywhere from a 2.5 to 5. Between the bread, it's a bonafide 5. Primo meat to sandwich ratio, excellent fixins, all the love poured into the sandwich making. Enigma. I had the Tracy Austin and the Racquet Club, and both had all the right inside parts... But maybe some of the worst Dutch I've ever come across. Dutch is the best unnecessary secret of the sandwich eating world. It is the absolute best bread ever made and it's perplexing why it isn't everywhere. Enigma. The Spot had a good supply. Crusty as heck on the top I actually had to peel it off. Now, mad respect to The Spot for bringing the Dutch to the desert at all. Everyone must eat the Dutch and it's mostly only in the Bay Area. Also love the tennis theme. I have to believe their other loaves are better and will leave the option open of hitting a soft roll that takes this review to a 5 because it's just the bread holding this one back, but we all know, a sandwich is only as good as it's bread.

It was close to end of day so I was quick to browse the offerings before placing my sandwich order. Ended up getting a Caprese and Parma on focaccia. The staff seemed preoccupied with Cleaning but did their best to get my sandwich order out fast. I've heard nothing but good things about this place but this is my first time. I asked the lady behind the counter for a popular favorite recommendation and she seemed confused and just said everything was good. Two sandwiches around $40 so I was hoping for something great. Unfortunately we agreed that the taste was good, but nothing amazing and probably not what we were expecting for the price. Everything fell just a little bit flat. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. I ended up drizzling balsamic vinegar on the Caprese at home since they only put olive oil and a little bit of pesto on the bread and the whole thing just felt lacking ever so slightly. The shop itself was clean and well kept and had a lot to offer so I still recommend stopping by and browsing for Italian goodies. Just not my favorite sandwich spot. Maybe we will try something else another day or just stick to the pasta!

Although the sandwiches are really really the hit! I drive an hour and a half to eat here. Their focaccia bread is the softest well flavored bread I've ever eaten. And yes, i dream about it sometimes. Service was great and fast, everyone was friendly. Will be back!

The cashier that was a young guy was great because he told us that there was actually a 2nd location not too far away that made specialty coffee drinks & ice cream. We rushed over there to try the ice cream & I also ordered the matcha with lavender that they make that tastes authentic, the flavor was incredible, (not like the fake stuff that the most famous coffee place on earth sells that smells funny). The cashier at the other location was super kind, knowledgeable, & very easy to talk to, I asked several questions & was indecisive before placing my order yet she was patient & friendly. The guy that made my ice cream came over to ask me if I would like blueberries with the strawberries in the shortcake ice cream, it was some of the best vegan ice cream that I've ever tried, along with excellent customer service, I highly recommend going there. The chili was so flavorful and I enjoyed learning that they use Rancho Gordo beans. The Guadalajara burger had great toppings but as much as I try, I'm not the biggest fan of Tempeh. The chupacabra sandwich was good, the menu said that the 'chicken' is thinly sliced, I didn't realize just how thin it is. I think I would have preferred if it were slightly thicker and less cabbage. There was so much cabbage that it overpowered the rest of the sandwich. Overall, I think this place is a gem and I'd like to try their other menu items.
