There's not enough good things to say about Chef yank. I literally order here weekly and the food always hits differently. This spot is no joke! In my humble opinion, this has to be a must visit on any Miami itinerary. From the fried fish to the mouthwatering chicken, everything at Chef Yank is stellar. My favorite is the fried chicken wing special. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch. Service is fast and the staff were very friendly. My food was prepared quickly, and accurately. If you're trying to get some well seasoned food this is the place to visit.

I arrived at 1105am... the girl that works there GHETTO AF!! My sister asks for Bbq Ribs and she tells her it's still breakfast, even though on the special menu it says breakfast until 11am... So then she has to verify if its breakfast or lunch but we let that go.... then they have no sides!! Only green beans, collards and rice.... nothing on the menu was available. They force you to get a starch, so we asked for mac, but forced to get rice ... We let that go as well The register girl then tells me I have to order 2 fried pork chops even though the special says 1 for $3 or 2 for $5... but whatever I let it go, bc I was tired of telling her THEIR SPECIALS that's POSTED CLEARLY ON THE WALL.... I let this go, bci understand it doesn't take a college educated person to be a register girl Then as we waited another two ladies came in with cash, the register girl calls the owner on SPEAKERPHONE (SOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL) and basically he says if they dont have change they cant serve them.... their meal was $10.70... so my sister and I helped them with the change since the owner didn't care about the store having change.... Then the cook comes out and ask if bbq sauce comes on the ribs even though that's what was ordered and on the receipt... we let that go Doordash and postmates orders are prioritized over walk in orders... the register girl was talking slick about the door dash lady IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS!!! And this is who represents the company brand and image ‍‍‍ Another 45min go by, and I realize my sister food is ready, but not mine... no worries, we continue to wait.... Then at 1207, (1hr 2 min later) the register girl comes out and asked if I wanted a grilled pork chop and then this is where I asked for a refund, because now it's over an HOUR and i never once asked for grilled anything.... So she calls the owner again on SPEAKERPHONE and he says i cant get a refund unless he's there. So i asked to speak to him, and basically he says he's on his way.... but 45 min earlier when they said the store didnt have change, you should've made it a priority to show up... I TRIED explaining to him over the phone that I've waited over an hour but NOT ONCE AN APOLOGY.... still nothing!! Oh not to mention he used profanity l. Even though he claims he did not curse "At Me", as a customer I should NOT have heard him curse AT ALL!! Then so another 20 min goes by and I've called the police by this point... the owner keeps trying to speak back to me, but there is no reason I just want a refund receipt and to leave... (not to mention I live in Baltimore so if I didn't get a receipt. Then what???) He then comes in FINALLY after another 20mins of waiting and says, "If you would've taken the phone you would have known you didn't have to wait:... STILL NO APOLOGY!!! But let's get this straight... I dont know this owner from a crackhead on the street, but he tried to tell me I could've left and he would've refunded me my money. I dont know you bro, I've waited an hour PLUS and if this is how you operate you really believe I trust you enough to do a refund once I leave... really, you dont even believe that That's like going to Walmart, returning an item and they say we wont give you a return receipt but we'll send it when the owner gets in... REALLY?!?!?! Then the little ghetto register girl tried me, she talk big game, but she IS DEFINITELY not about that life. She a behind the counter thug with no action to back it up NONE... It took her mother to come from the back crying hysterically bc her momma knew what was best... is ALL FACTS!! CUSTOMER SERVICE is a 0. I understand this is a little hole in the wall food spot, but basic customer service goes a longggg way. If anyone goes to a place and wait an hour , the LEAST I could've gotten was an apology... "Ma'am I apologize for the inconvenience, the owner is on his way, and should be here shortly. I'm sorry you had to wait over an hour" BOOM!! but nooooo, NOONE TOOK ACCOUNTABILITY So the reason they received one star is because I have to, and even though the owner still DID NOT apologize, he gave me a FULL refund and I even told him my sister got her food and he said we were good - and I then went to get a sweet tea from McDonald's bc over an hour is UNACCEPTABLE. If I don't accept that kind of service in a 4-5 star establishment, why would I accept it there? I really wanted to try this place, but that'll be a HELL NAW. My honest wishes is for Chef Yank, to really properly train his staff on Customer Service Excellence. ...and also to hire more staff, if it takes an hour to serve walk-in customers I Always want to support black owned businesses, but if I gotta get the side of unprofessionalism and attitude after waiting over an hour --- &&& people that came after me got their food before me,then it's a problem Oh btw... my sister said the ribs were good, but the mashed potatoes and collards were just o.k.

Been coming to Northside for years and I came across Chef Yank's Instagram and saw that they had relocated in the Northside Plaza. I saw so many tasty pictures and made a promise to myself that the next time I came to do my nails, I was going to check them out. I decided to do my nails the day before Thanksgiving and I wasn't thinking that everyone and their mother was off, it literally took me thirty minutes to find parking. Before doing my nails, I went to Chef Yank's to check out their menu, they were running $5 lunch specials and my kids wanted spaghetti. The combo included corn or broccoli and garlic bread. I paid for the meals and instructed her that I'll call them before I finished and would come and pick up my meals. I knew the that the flea market closed at 7pm and I had ample time to pick up the food. I did my nails which took like two hours, went to my hair dresser another two hours. I luckily finished by 6:30 p.m. I called Chef Yank's before leaving and saw that no one was picking the phone and it was going straight to voicemail. I hauled butt to the restaurant because the menu and door stated that it closed at 9p.m. (that was a lie!!!) I was 38 degrees hot leaving from there and ended spending extra money and buying them KFC. So, I returned today, I had no intentions of cooking and knowingly said I have a $15 dollar credit because I didn't receive my meals. I greeted the server and stated,"Do you remember me from Wednesday?" She said, "yes". I advised her that I came at 6:30 and all the lights were off and she said that they were opened. (Anyways) I asked her if I was able to get my meals today and she said yes. I added a Garlic shrimp pasta with broccoli and it was served with two pieces of garlic bread. Since I was with Mama Dukes and wanted to eat only a small amount I shared my plate with her. I pretty much had a forty-five minute wait for the meal since everything is cooked to order. I sampled the garlic butter shrimp and the broccoli, the taste was amazing. My mother loved the broccoli also and my kids loved their spaghetti. I saw other items on the menu such as burgers, salads, soups, and whole meals. They run a $3 breakfast special (grits, toast, egg, sausage) till 11 a.m. Like I said I was a little disappointed with the early closure, but the food was on point. Also there is no sit-in, everything is to go. I'm going to come for breakfast to see if its good as it looks.

The food was very good, I have no complaints about it but the wait time was horrible; I had to wait 50 minutes for the fried rib platter and some fries, and there wasn't a lot of people that came inside the restaurant either. I would recommend eating their food if you're curious, but please order in advance before coming so you won't waste any time.

Delicious!! Perfectly seasoned food! I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

I found out about this place through Uber eats and I can say I'm not usually into trying new places unless I go in person but this place was fairly good. I order their shrimp Alfredo and it arrived pretty quickly being that it is up the street from my neighborhood. The portion size was nice my only complaint would be that the pasta really had no flavor

Visited new location today. This was sitting on a table a log with a roach on it, along with 2 tubs of meat for grilling.

Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Much nicer than this one. The Opa Locka location only have a few chairs to sit down to wait for your order. As you walk in you immediately see the order counter. They have their menus on the wall and to go menus on the counter. Nothing special inside. Food: I ordered the shrimp platter that came parsley potatoes and garlic corn. And 6pc lemon pepper wing and fries. The shrimp platter was okay. The wings were ridiculously small. It was $11 for tiny baby wings. They really shouldn't sell no one wings that tiny. I was definitely disappointed when I opened my box. It tasted more like salt & pepper wings rather than lemon pepper. I tasted a bunch of salt. The fries were a bit salty too. Location: Its located in a plaza. Right next door to a Spanish bakery and a banquet hall. The parking is decent but depending on how busy the plaza is you may not get front door parking of course. Customer service: I was greeted immediately when I walked in. It was two people working in the front, a girl and guy, they both was nice. After I ordered, the girl told me it will be about 15-20mins for my food. Which I kinda expected a bit of a wait. Despite the horribleness of the food, the customer service is what made me give this place a 3 star.
