This is a nice local spot in Miami to get some classic, staple dishes. Menu size is perfect and includes all of your favorites. I've order through DoorDash and I have picked up in person. Overall, I really enjoyed my food each time. Pros: They are fairly quick with preparing your order, so no long wait. You can also order through an app and have it be ready by the time you pick it up. Food was hot and packaged nicely. You also get a good amount of food for your money! Cons: they can stand to spiffy up the place a tad bit more. The ordering counter was quite sticky amongst other things when I came. Not a major problem, but it can be a downside for some people. Also, there is no place to sit. This is simply grab and go.

A unique menu of Southern, Cajun, Carribbean, Creole dishes! They are so friendly here... we were amazed that they not only remembered us from weeks ago, but even remembered our orders! This location is just for takeout... the other one in Pembroke Pines is sit-down. As a takeout, there's only a counter and a small waiting area, but it's chock full of incredible memorabilia, so lots to occupy your curiosity while waiting. Hands down, the cracked conch is my favorite! And, their sides are delicious... from candied yams to mac and cheese. On our latest visit we tried the fried ribs with Jive sauce. Wow.

I cannot come to Florida without making a stop at Shuckin & Jivin'. The service is always great. I love meeting good down to earth people. The last time I was here I almost missed my flight back home . I finally got to try the fried ribs. They were so delicious. I may have to make a quick trip back before I leave. Hopefully they will have some sweet tea ready but if they don't that jivin juice hit the spot!

This is the type of meal that is going to put you to sleep. And I didn't even eat it all. My bf and I shared it (him eating majority). For only $16 it was a very satisfying meal. I like my wings to have that little crunch like it was battered and seasoned with love before being coated with their the sweet chili-esque sauce they consider their signature. All the sides were solid - Not saying it was a grand slam but I mean come on everyone has their own opinion of how their perfect collards and Mac should be made. This is definitely one of the better places for takeout that actually know what they're doing. I recommend!

I have ordered here in the past and I love love the food. The building is small so there is no seating inside. Only to go orders. I ate here during pandemic as well as for thanksgiving job pot luck. For the pot luck I ordered the Mac n cheese. We was going to have about 10-12 people. So I ordered 2 pans in order for people to have double servings and take some home for leftovers. I'm so glad I ordered two pans. Everyone finished the first pan and half the second pan. I would order again. The pans was $65 for both total. I even called it in last minute two days before and they was able to accommodate. I picked the pans up at 7pm an it was fresh out the oven. I suggest taking a box or bringing a towel for car when you pick up.

I have had food from here before and it was A1 I dont know what happened but it was not it for me this time. The fried ribs were too salty and they were tough to chew my teeth was like yeah throw that away and the conch fritters were too doughy like.

The food is great l! Owners are very welcoming Food is prepared fresh not just sitting under a heat lamp all day

I'm very disappointed to say the least. I hate doing bad reviews on black owned restaurants. But this one hurt. I'm always worried when black owned restaurants expand because one normally gets the short end of the stick. I ordered gumbo I'll upload the photo it was just grease and rice, I ordered red beans and rice. It wasn't edible neither was the gumbo. I also ordered fish dinner with macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was basically rubber and shuckin use to have the best macaroni hands down. I don't eat everyone greens. Today was the exact example why. I use to eat here all the time because of how consistent the food was. I Haven't been since the new location open. My food was not edible at all. Remind me I got all this food for me myself and I. Let's say this was a big back energy fail.

Wow!! Phenomenal food and service. All 5 stars.. the restaurant sits behind the Burger King inside a plaza in a corner. Immediately entering the business, my friend and I was greeted in a friendly manner from a young lady ( I didn't get her name, but she was very nice). She explained the menu to us and even convinced us to "cheat" and try out their delicious cakes. Me and my friend orders the fried ribs which came with rice and 2 sides. I had the red beans and Mac and cheese ( red beans were flavorful with a good spice). The Mac and cheese I want too fond of, but my friend enjoyed it. The food didn't take long to come out. This is a take out location, so either you can wait around in your car or they will text you when your order is ready. I tried the "jivin" sauce... soo good! Overall, I would definitely come back.. good soul food for the body.

I really enjoyed my food at Shuckin & Jivin', but was disappointed when I came on a Saturday night to find that they didn't have many of the side options. I came from out of town, so I was looking forward to trying some collard greens and grits. I had to take one star off for this. With that said, the food here is really amazing! I ordered the grilled shrimp combo with a side of mac and cheese, creole rice, and red beans. The food was seasoned to perfection! My favorite was the crispy shrimp, which is butterflied and lightly fried. The food takes about 15 to come out, but everything is fresh and comes right out of the kitchen to your plate. The restaurant itself is very small and only has 2 tables for dining in. The restaurant seems to be family owned. The service was really a highlight in My dining experience!

My mom called me one Friday evening saying she wanted soul food. Where she lives, there aren't many soul food options and I wasn't in the mood to drive all over the place. As a rule of thumb,I relay on my trusty and reliable, YELP! And as always, Yelp, came through with Shuckin and Jivin'. S&J, is off the 826 and between 47th and 57th avenue in a small strip plaza tucked in the cut of a Pentecostal church and electronic repair store. Upon entering S&J, there was a young lady mopping the floor, and wiping down the rustic look countertop and walls. We waited about 2 to 3 mins before entering because the floor was wet. Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed but, stayed on course... We approached the counter which is about a yard away from the door. We glared at the menu on the wall, then my mom said, I'll have the fish, yams and rice. She wanted collard greens, but there was a food warning on them. All I wanted was a conch fritter..but I ask the lady 1st, "are they good", she proudly boosted, "yes, they are our best seller" so, you know, I gave that silent but effective stare eye to eye, like really..., are they really good? She gave me that nod, I was like ok, I'll take the $7 conch fritter, please. We sat down at 1 of the 3 small tables and begin listening to the smooth sounds of R&B music I grew up listening to, like; I'll take you there, back stabbers, R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Georgia on my mind, Sexual Healing and many other fingers snappin, foot tappin, shoulders swaying songs that made me reflect on growing up in the 60's when family, food and music bought us together. I fondly remember my uncle Rufus who has gone on to Glory, he loved dancin, always had a huge smile on his face, with his big cowboy hat on, dungereens, wide collar, snap down shirt. He use to always say, while dancin, "ain't nothing betta than Shuckin and Jivin"... Being in S&J that Friday night bought back all those wonderful memories. Love the vibe in there. We got our order about 25 mins later, my mom's HOTtt food was in clear plastic container, which I thought why on earth would they put hot food in a plastic clear container because the food was so hot, it started melting the container. Nonetheless, moms loved the food. And to me, this speaks volumes as my mom is show nuff THE best southern soul food cook I know! And her peach cobbler is to die for! Which by the way, she ordered and said it was good as well! I was like....shut my mouth! Because moms know GOOD food! Therefore, it's rare when she say something is good. So KUDOS and BIG ups S&J! My conch fritter came out in a brown paper bag wrapped in wax paper and paper towel to absorb the oil. I couldn't wait to get my foodie behind in the car, to break off a tip of that hot fritter. At long last, om....g!! that 1st bite, was hot, crispy & crunchy and the inside was slightly undone but... had good flavor. Wasn't bad. I want to try it again when the place isn't as busy. I can't wait to go back for those fritters that were the size of a large pancake .

Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

The fish I order was supposed to be grouper, but it was very thin, and it was covered in a sauce with cheese that was overcooked as the cheese was not soft and melty, but rather dried and firm. We went back a second time because the pizza looked good. It was not as good as it looked, and the pizza sauce tasted sweet, so not to our party's liking. The warm rolls with butter were really good, and the burrata salad was also good. The atmosphere is lovely, but can get quite loud. One of them is 1910 Restaurant & Bar, a Spanish-inspired restaurant that blends premium steaks, seafood, and a little theatrical flair without losing sight of flavor. The meal opened with an order of Cheese Balls, crisp golden spheres that reminded me of pão de queijo, except they skipped most of the bread and focused almost entirely on the cheese. The exterior shattered pleasantly, giving way to a molten, creamy center. Paired with a pineapple sauce, each bite balanced sweet and salty in exactly the right proportions. My wife ordered the Australian Wagyu Flap Sirloin, a 12-ounce cut grilled over charcoal and served with house-made chimichurri. It was everything you hope Wagyu will be, deeply beefy, wonderfully tender, and rich without becoming overwhelming. The chimichurri added brightness without stealing the spotlight. Then came the dish that first caught my attention. The La Reina de la Casa, or "Queen of the House." At first glance, it almost feels designed for social media, a cheese pizza crowned with an enormous grilled octopus. I would be lying if I said that presentation didn't influence my order. Fortunately, this wasn't style over substance. The pizza itself stood on its own with a crisp crust and generous layer of bubbling cheese. The octopus, however, was the reason to order it. It was expertly grilled, tender without a hint of chewiness, and seasoned with a spice blend the server politely described as the chef's secret. Whatever was in that seasoning deserved to remain a secret, because it transformed an already well-cooked octopus into something memorable. Dessert brought things back to the classics with a crème brûlée. The sugar crust cracked cleanly beneath the spoon, revealing a silky vanilla custard underneath. Simple, elegant, and exactly the ending the meal needed. 1910 could have leaned heavily on flashy presentations and premium ingredients. Instead, it paired both with thoughtful execution. That's a far more difficult trick to pull off. Some restaurants earn attention because they're photogenic. The best ones earn repeat visits because the food is every bit as impressive as the photos.
