    To the people in hot prepared foods:…read more I wanted to take a moment to congratulate your prepared foods department on accomplishing something I didn't think was possible: making chicken completely inedible. This afternoon my wife purchased two portions of your "Harvest Chicken" from the hot foods counter. When she brought it home, we sat down expecting dinner. Instead, we were treated to what can only be described as a culinary experiment in dehydration. I didn't realize chicken could actually reach the texture of corrugated cardboard, but your staff has apparently mastered that technique. Large sections were so hard that even a fork had trouble getting through them, which is an impressive achievement if the goal was to create building materials rather than food. It's honestly a shame, because an animal had to give its life for that meal, only for it to be cooked into something no human should reasonably be expected to eat. I have seen more care put into kindergarten cooking projects. In the end, most of it went straight into the garbage, which seemed to be the most appropriate place for it. For comparison, a stop at Burger King would have been a noticeable upgrade in quality. You may want to take a look at what's happening behind that counter, because if this is the standard being served to customers, something has gone very wrong.

    Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.

    Above and Beyond was absolutely fabulous on our wedding day. Guests are still talking about how…read morewonderful the food was!! The shmorg, dinner and dessert were all amazing. Jill also acted as a day-of coordinator and everything was seamless. She worked calmly and professionally behind the scenes with all vendors to keep the day flowing. I didn't worry about anything that day and it all worked out perfectly. We had a lounge-like vision for the party: no assigned seats, a mix of table sizes, and a buffet of tapas style plates that would get people moving around the space. Jill made this happen and it felt seamless - she was endlessly positive and full of ideas and solutions to make the event feel festive, COVID-safe, and flowing. No one ever had to wait in line for drinks - bars were plentiful and well run. My husband and I sat at a small table together which she thoughtfully prepared ahead of time with a full array of food so we actually got to eat a little that evening! I HIGHLY recommend Jill and her team and hope to attend more of her events in the future!

At every single turn on both Friday night and Saturday we were completely amazed by their talented and patient staff, completely thrilled by the delicious and beautifully presented food and completely overwhelmed by the gorgeous presentation of every single element of the experience. I know that we were typical clients, but they treated us in a way that made us feel so totally special and it elevated this to such a perfect celebration for us. Our son was thrilled in every way, and virtually every one of our guests commented in some way on how delicious the food was, how amazing their team was, and how seamlessly the staff handled all of the various transitions especially in such a challenging and crowded space. We are so appreciative of everything Above and Beyond did to make this special, and every way in which you made this easy for us, and especially for your flexibility at the end dealing with our last minute details. It felt mind-bogglingly complicated for us, but it was to everyone who came and celebrated a truly delightful, happy and fun celebration--and even more so for our son. He was thrilled and so were we.
