Generally good. Great Mac and cheese. Expect to pay $$$ for better than average quality but Uncle Guiseppe's is preferred.

Expensive? Sure! But still the best market, with the best service, the best seafood and just quality throughout.

Worst experiences in a supermarket ever. I find Fresh Grocer in general high priced. Many products…read morenot priced ,especially bread products . Bakery products especially rolls resold next day . Rare sales in Fresh Grocer.Cold cuts( meats) 40% more than say BJ's in price. Almost never have Coke products rarely on sale like in most Supermarkets . My worst beef is "DIGITAL PRICING " . Many of us are old folk and not computer savvy . Is it proper we get discriminated against for being old. I am an old 100% disabled war Vet ,must I pay more than the computer savvy folks. Many of us have cell phones strictly for communication . Why would your organization go out of your way to make life more difficult for us who have paid our dues in society. Doesn't cash have meaning anymore ?

Food town recently closed and now this is The Fresh Grocer. No need to be alarmed, they still offer…read morethe same high quality food and selection (actually they may have improved the selection and lowered some prices with the exception of the hot food buffet). This supermarket has everything you'd expect from a supermarket except better! I'll give them 4 out of 5 stars because they can improve on sustainable products and I'm disappointed that the hot food is no longer 1/2 price after 7. The grocery store is always kept clean and the employees are always efficient and courteous. The help desk is very helpful when it comes to returns and may special order items that they no longer carry if they are available. They have a huge fresh fish section where you can select exactly what you want or can chose from prepared dishes or frozen food. The butcher has top quality meets with grass fed options. Of course the have precut options or you can ask the bitches to cut exactly what you want. The deli has a large selection or meats including boarshead and and Italian meats that you may not find elsewhere. Their side dishes are delicious as well, I usually go for the rotelli salad or the red skin potato salad. The have a large selection of prepared hot food. You can go to the buffet to customize your meal. The have a section where food is prepared daily by a chef if you want a top notch meal or you can select a freshly prepared meal that has already been prepackaged. You can also use them for catering as well if you are having a party. There is a sushi station where the sushi is comparable to some of the best sushi/Japanese restaurants around and you can even have your sushi freshly rolled. I go for the 3 for 2 because I can't turn down a good deal. The bakery has a very large selection of freshly made breads and deserts. They also have a great selection of flowers at a very reasonable price. You can also find a selection of toiletries, home and automotive goods, and most anything else you would expect a supermarket to have. Get yourself a membership so you can take advantage of the deals. Get yourself a reusable grocery bag while your at it. When I go here, I use my reusable produce bags and even refill the same containers for the hot food, but I don't expect everybody to go that far.

The employees who work here are always super friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help. We've gotten the salmon, sea bass, jumbo shrimp, and oysters. They offer jumbo shrimp already deveined (but frozen instead of the fresh ones on the display ice), which is super convenient for times I do not want to devein the shrimp myself. The shrimp is easy to cook over a boil and great with cocktail sauce that they also sell at Peter's Fish Market. The salmon is also super fresh and we were told that we can eat the salmon raw like sashimi! Since then, we've been making our own salmon hand rolls and sushi rolls at home. The seabass is also so amazing to eat. We recently decided to try oyster and we were unlucky with one not being fresh, but everything else was great. We always have a great time with the seafood we buy.

If I have an amazing dish out somewhere, I can usually carry it home in my head and come up with a knockoff that's not half bad. Christmas Eve was always my big night -- also my birthday -- when I hosted the Feast of the Seven Fishes. At one point, over 30 people would pack in to share it. For 30 years straight, the fish came from one place only: Peter's Seafood in Midland Park. But tonight, what's on my mind isn't Yelp or fish markets. It's my neighbor Pete. He was my best friend here -- a guy who could spin stories about New York in the 1950s like he was giving you a private tour. Sometimes he'd get a "Woolley" (that's Italian for craving) for lobster or clams. I'd drive north to Peter's, haul it back to Monroe, and we'd make a night of it: good food, better conversation. Pete passed away this weekend. I know it comes with the territory of living in a senior village -- neighbors will pass on. But this is my first loss here, and it feels like a big one.Pete would laugh if I told him that I needed to add great ambience in my side yard to make this a complete Yelp review...
