This is a review of the CSA farm share. While the idea of supporting the property is nice, we found…read morethe size of the share given out each week to be very small and lacked variety. They were very enthusiastic about offering unusual produce at the beginning of the season, but really did not come through with anything too unusual. The pick your own section was extremely limited and consisted of mostly flowers and a few herbs. When they were short, they would include a bunch of herbs for the share from the pick your own selection. And they had a huge fenced in garden area with irrigation with large sections unplanted the entire growing season since they were trying a new growing method which was based on keeping a large portion of the usable planting area weeds. And the few other perks like the cooking classes had such a limited availability, it was taken up by the same regulars every week, so was more like a private social group for long time members who had first choice of future classes. And everything else offered for sale from local farmers like cheese and honey was fairly expensive. It seems they could have used more volunteer farm workers helping in the fields or at least purchased bulk produce more often when they were short. And while the volunteers were friendly, some of the policies were a bit strict. Like if you didn't like one kind of produce, they didn't want to let you take twice as much of something else. So when I have an abundance of my own tomatoes to have to take shares of tomatoes every week for half the summer it made the small shares even less worth it. The produce overall was tasty and good quality, just small quantity. It was something nice to try for a season, but for the cost, I don't think we will be back this year.

Oh my goodness, not only do you feel totally confident that you can cook these dishes on your own when you leave, before you actually leave you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Haneeda feeds you well! Do not eat before you come :) I'm not even joking when I say this was better than any Indian restaurant I've ever been to. She sends you home with all the recipes you made that day. Haneeda is so kind and generous and you can tell she really loves what she does and sharing her wealth of knowledge with everyone. We tried the Tandy Cake in a cup and an ice cream flight, which comes with four smaller scoops, perfect if you want to try a few flavors! Out of the flavors we had Wookie Cookie, Lemon Blueberry Pie, Salted Caramel Crunch, and Peanut Butter on Peanut Butter, Lemon Blueberry Pie stood out the most. All flavors were amazing, but that one was my favorite! Overall, a solid spot for ice cream this spring and summer. We attended on a rainy winter evening, and I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when everything is in bloom. The class included clear, easy-to-understand instruction, from what to look for when purchasing knives to how to properly slice and dice onions and peppers, along with more advanced tips. The other participants were a friendly mix of rookies and seasoned home cooks, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
