I absolutely love this Cheese shop. I've been coming here for a few years now. The establishment is so nice and quaint and the staff is always most helpful and knowledgeable about the cheese they offer. They make recommendations, which are spot on, plus I have my favorites I get every time. I especially love the cheese with truffles, so yummy. I've ordered charcuterie trays which they do very well. I also enjoy their lamp pepperoni which is delish I suggest this awesome cheese shop for a variety of tastes.

We happened to drive by this shop and just had to turn around to check it out. The people who helped me were so kind and welcoming. They let me try samples without any pressure or feeling like I was asking for a favor. I ended up leaving with three delicious cheeses--and it was so affordable! I'll definitely be back.

This is the best local cheese shop I have ever been to. Both the owner and the manager are very kind and well spoken about cheeses. They know exactly how to teach new customers about cheese and give samples. The ambiance is peaceful and inviting. You can take your time looking at all of the options. I have taken multiple friends here and will continue to go back. If you want to support a local business then this is it! Any Ursinus students should come here/ show your parents.

Super friendly, excellent customer service, went above and beyond! Loved working with Celestin and pretty much left all selections up to her for the gift basket! Reliable, great communication, and excellent all around. Great offerings from their store with a lot of variety/choices. Will definitely use them again when I need another gift in the area.

Lychee/raspberry/rose and blackberry/violet jams - pairs great with many of their cheeses! Lychee may be my favorite.

Cliff notes: WOW This place is my heaven. So many cheeses!!! And the staff is great too. They are very knowledgeable in the cheeses and at very good at explaining the texture and taste of the cheeses. They also let you have a little taste before you decide to make your purchase. They are also helpful in helping you pair cheeses with their jams. Speaking of jams... they also have a great selection of jams. I tried their blackberry/violet and lychee/raspberry/rose jams and they are absolutely heavenly. There is a $10 minimum for card purchases, which believe me, will NOT be an issue if you are a true cheese lover and try their cheeses. I also need to make a note on how they wrap their cheeses, because I have never seen it wrapped so neatly like a Christmas present. The cheese itself is wrapped in a paper wrap (kind of like the type used to wrap deli meat) and is wrapped again i paper. AND they write the name of the cheese on the outside. The Grand Fromage definitely went the whole 9 yards when it comes to wrapping cheese. It literally was like unwrapping a Christmas gift. I have been to quite a few cheese shoppes, and I javen't seen cheese wrapped anything like this. I highly recommend this place. I just wish it weren't so far. I got 5 different types of cheese at 1/4 pounds each, fearing it would go bad. That's probably one of the biggest mistakes I have made so far in 2014 (mind you, it is only the 21 of January). I wish I would have gotten more cheeses, since it took only a couple days to finish the ones I have. Even my two baby rats love them (and they are despicably finicky eaters). They also have a decent variety of honey, which come to think of it, regret numero 2 is not getting their rosemary honey. But to be fair, I got distracted with the cheese and completely forgot. I am also fascinated with their jam selection. As previously mentioned, the brand "au fil du fruit" has exotic flavor jams: 1. lychee and raspberry jam with rose (yum yum yum!!!!!!) 2. blackberry jelly and violet (Yum!!!!) 3. black cherry jam and espelette chili pepper (did not try) 4. orange marmalade with ginger (did not try) They also have another jam that caught my eye called "Rosie's Hips" which obviously, contains rose hips but also has anise (which I hate). I should have gotten that anyway just to say I tried it. Point is, they have an impressive variety of spreads! They are flavors I have never seen before! Oh yes, their cheese cutting boards. I saw this cutting board that looked just like one from Anthropologie that I am obsessed with that The Grand Fromage is selling only less than $50 whereas Anthropologie is trying to sell it for $150.... as a clearance price. For a tiny shoppe, they have an amazing selection (cheese, jams. honey) and amazing service - I promise you there will be no regrets. If there was one in University City, I would be going there everyday. I love it here!!!!!

It's a perfect little shop. Great selection, knowledgeable staff. They encourage samples. Nice breads. Lots of interesting cheese related items. The prices seem in line with the quality. To be honesty's worth paying a bit more for the service! Super cute store. The cheeses I had were perfectly ripe.

"We did talk about cheese on our first date." ~Jane Kaczmarek ...and Grand it is. This lovely cheese shop is on par with anything you'll find outside of New York City. This isn't the traditional chrome display case store with a thousand cheeses in it. This is a more refined boutique cheese shop that sells rather, just a few dozen exceptional cheeses in addition to, European imported crackers, jams, pastas and exquisite hand carved burlwood cutting boards. Be sure to try the Gran Queso, a US made Manchego-like cheese which is made in Wisconsin. Its rind is rubbed in cinnamon, and paired with rosemary crackers... delicious. Another added bonus is the lovely creek nearby where we took our snacks and sat with our feet in the water... under the huge trees.

A small, beautifully cozy space with all the cheeses you could ever wish for awaits you when you emerge from the alley leading you to this unctuous temple of deliciousness. I happened to have my daughter's initial orthodontic assessment this morning and afterwards we went to grab a coffee a few blocks away. Luckily I had parked in front of the small sign beckoning visitors to explore the small pathway and into the grip of the intoxicating cheese gods waiting inside. Not only was I immediately swept away by the selection and space, but considering the quality of cheese and breadth of choices as well as other products, the prices still sit in the "reasonable" range for a store like this. Despite being here for years, I had never known of its existence and was greeted by John, the owner who told me they have been there since 2012. I wish I had known for all this time, as the storied Chestnut Hill Cheese Shop I had gone to in years past had closed in 2017, and honestly, this spot is nicer, cleaner, a bit smaller, and has a better selection! John took the time to make me feel very invited and explain his business to me and is very knowledgeable about his craft. Introducing a friend of my daughter to cheeses recently has been an exciting adventure and I picked up a small amount of comté to take back for him to try, as it's such a staple. I will be coming back here for many years and for as long as it is here. This is the exact kind of place I have been looking for, for years! I just wish I had known sooner! Make sure if you live anywhere in the Philadelphia area or collar counties to stop by Evergreen Cheese. You can make it the center of a trip for the day to Chestnut Hill, or just a single stop alone, but don't miss this absolute hidden gem.

Also, a big thanks to the owner for running the cheddar through that machine when I ask: means I don't have to wear out an arm making stovetop mac and cheese for family events.

So many delectable condiments (pickles, mustard, crackers, bread, butter, sardines, beautiful dish towels, wooden charcuterie boards, candles, chocolates, salamis and so much more. Today we received a tasting of gouda, blue and goat cheeses; yum! Free Gouda samples (nice sized chunks too), for opening day weekend. These owners are serious about their cheese, but not very friendly, at least from what I experienced. "I would like to sample one of these blues, please." "Nope, we don't have that one available for sampling." How would I be able to tell if I like it; I asked. Five different blue cheeses to choose from, what makes them different from one another, I asked. The male owner, in a condescending tone; "What exactly are you wanting to know? Do you want to know the intensity of the blue?" "Um, yeah; I guess." The owner responds, this one is soaked in a liquor (so, I'm thinking; ooh, I wanna try that one). I can't though, it's wrapped and it's not a cheese already out, for sampling. "What about the other blue cheeses, what are they like?" Right now, my voice is quavering; is it not okay to ask what the cheese tastes like? Now I'm reminiscing about Di Bruno Brothers cheese shop, in Little Italy Philadelphia, PA. They have an entire store of cheese and the personnel behind the massive counter, allows you to sample, till your hearts content, gushing about their cheeses and inquiring how you like the cheese. It's a full on cheesy experience. That experience was glorious, this was .. different. Though I must admit, the shop's layout, offerings, are all very tempting - to include those chocolate croissants, behind their glass case. According to one of the employees, some cheeses will be a constant fixture in this store, but as the seasons change, so will some of their other offerings. Sadly, not every cheese was available to sample, but co-workers will allow samples of whatever was ready that day. Do note that the cheese wrapped for sale, cannot be cut into smaller slices and re-wrapped, like some other cheese shops. Requesting a smaller portion, may not be done. I say this because, I may need only a specific amount for a recipe or to munch on, with one of your many crackers to choose among. Good cheese is expensive. I was also looking for some fresh baguettes, but the only bread available were in their freezer. Owners aside, Lititz Cheese Shop staff were helpful and friendly. Whatever you asked of them, they obliged and provided cheese knowledge.
