2/27/26 Hubby was looking for a knife sheath to protect his new chef knife.... And me lol. It is sharp AF I looked through the rolling pins, needed one for making dumplings but all they had was a plastic-like roller. I'd much prefer a wooden one. Additionally, I wanted to also look into getting a better whisk, but I think I will make the wood what I have. And I knew I was gonna need a digital scale to help me through my sourdough journey now that I was gifted two sourdough starters--one from Italy and one from France (one of my clients was very giving & thoughtful). The price is range from $40-$85., whoa! Amazon has them for about $30. I will have to think about this.. Met Gonzo, yes, that's how he spelled it, a delightful & enlightened staff member who was very helpful with recommending which would be best. We could've had a whole conversation for a half a day! LoL. In the end, I decided to think about it before purchasing one (turns out later, best decision I made all day) My glass measuring cup is in storage & I find it cumbersome so I bought a lighter version (2 cup). Happy with my purchase. Hubby bought his item separately & let me roam the aisles. Highly recommend this store. The employee at the register was very informative and even recommended a brand to me that I forget the name of, but it did interest me. I ended up ordering one of the knives they had on display from the company itself, but I purchased one of their Victorinox bread knives, 2 knife guards, and scissors. So far, I have only really used the bread knife, but I'm glad I found this place. read more

Absolute fucking joke of a place. Everything is cheaper across the street at restaurant depot and you don't have to deal with shit fucking employees. How are you supposed to see if a product is fit for your kitchen without opening the package? Then they want to charge a restocking fee if it's not in the ripped plastic wrap. Then I see Ray wrapping the brush in SARAN wrap LOL. That's what they charge the restocking fee for? Bunch of idiots running and working at the place. I'll never be back. It's definitely a hidden gem and I highly recommend this place. I'm a home baker but perusing through the aisles, seeing all the equipment, makes you feel like you're a professional chef. Gave me a lot of great ideas for baking more efficiently. No one came to help me when I was shopping but I didn't need help, and I'm glad they left me alone to do my thing. Chefs' Toys offers a huge warehouse filled with restaurant supplies, everything you need from A to Z, new and used, large and small. It is open to the public, and is just down the street from the Restaurant Depot. So for the restauranteur, chef professional, or even the wanna-be chef, this is a god-send for convenience and inspiration, and has just plain old drool factor. Everything is well organized. They have a lot of USA made and European made items, which will last much longer, and have less toxin compare to the China made counterparts. Scored myself an immersion blender... made in France! This store is AMAZING!! I have never been to a store like this, so to come here and see everything a restaurant could need for but is pretty nice. From dishes (oh man there is an insane amount of that) to large appliances and even trash cans. Even small things like silverware or things to keep food in. I have to say, my mind is blown. Since moving back to CA, I've been searching SoCal for a real decently stocked restaurant supply store similar to Cresco in Las Vegas. Well, I found my store! Chef's Toys in Anaheim (they have other locations as well) has ended my long painful search. They are located almost across the street from a Restaurant Depot Warehouse. The outside of Chef's Toy looks a bit deceiving as being a small store. But once you step inside, there is a ton of merchandise all neatly stacked and displayed. The staff here are all really friendly and answer your questions patiently. I was on my way to work, so I did not have time to really peruse this store, but my quick walk around told me that they have anything a serious home cook or restaurant owner would need. I was surprised how difficult it is to purchase aluminum pizza pans, like what pizza parlors use and abuse. Smart and Final and Sam's Club do not carry them, and the Costco Business Centers in So Cal are too far away. I came in looking for 14" pizza pans and ended up getting some other sizes as well. I decided on purchasing 2 each of their 14" 16" and 18" sized pans, and a deep dish pizza pan grabber, costing me about $31 out the door. I've also been looking for a reputable knife sharpening vendor as well. While I did find one in Irvine, I'm going to try this place. They do not sharpen the knives at this location: I was advised by the staff here that the knives are all sent to their Fountain Valley branch for sharpening. They charge $3.80 per knife. Turn around time is 24 hours. I'm use to paying by the inch in Vegas, but it appears that this pricing structure will even out between my small paring knives and my longer boning and chef knives. The only slight disappointment I had with Chef's Toys was that even thought I'm a private consumer, I did not receive any type of industry pricing, like I use to get at Cresco. Despite this, I will definitely be shopping here for all of my cooking/kitchen equipment needs. read more

Definitely a fun store if you're in the food industry or simply love cooking or baking. A good variety of choices for the commercial kitchens. They have everything from cookery to baking supplies to chairs and table for your fine eatery establishment. Reasonable prices too and very friendly staff. Chef toys has been growing and now has several locations. They carry pretty much anything a chef could want, and if they don't they can usually order it for you pretty quickly. Not as posh as, say, Surfas, but they get the job done. No gourmet foods, but every type of Lexan box, spatulas, knives, whatever.... Many items are applicable to the homeowner - especially if you host several events each year. Bookmarked the FV location 3-4 years ago, never got around to visiting - was very happy when the Anaheim location opened a few years ago. They don't have food items like Surfas Culinary district - not a big deal for me - I'm mostly after hardware! Each place it's advantages - both rated 5 stars for supplies. Have made several visits since then - some of my purchases include: margarita salt rimmer and replacement sponges, bar drip trays and mats, condiment dispensers, bar garnish holder tray, knives and knife accessories, large spatulas, large pots, and grill cleaning items. They have Sheila Shine - the best stainless steel cleaner/polish! Bought my large Paella pan at Sur La Table (gift card) and later found a slightly larger one for cheaper here. Recently purchased a chefs coat for my Halloween costume (Mario Batali) and a case of beer mugs for my Super Bowl party. Some items may be overkill in size or quantity - you may be able to do a bit better price wise at Sam's/Costco (if they have what you're looking for). I had to purchase a case of 24 beer mugs - their price (including a Yelp check in discount!) was only $55 tax included). Just over $2 per mug. I shopped around online and could not beat their price - often the price was close to twice as much. In addition, they offer knife sharpening; you can download a complete catalog from their website. The guys working are mostly behind the checkout counter, not really out on the floor - there are always more than one; never any problem getting help, service has always been efficient and friendly. I swear I have almost as much fun shopping here as Home Depot, and probably spend more time lurking the aisles of cooking fun here than the aisles of work and projects at HD. I've purchased lots of goodies here from fine strainers, to a manly garlic press. 2 gallon measuring vessels to pizza screens. A cool melon baller to a silicone Bbq Brush. Big ass tamale pot to a 1 egg pan. A great fillet knife and super flat top spatula. They also do knife sharpening here and when I drop off my knives I know that they'll be razor-sharp when I get them back. So whether or not you need an industrial mixer a barbecue a ice maker, spatula, keg-orator, salt n pepper shaker or anything else you could possibly think of for your kitchen they got it here. Every time I've gone there I always find what I need and even stuff I'll need for the future like those silicone cake pop rollers. Oh the goodies I could make! The staff here will help you find anything you need for your cooking fun and if they don't have it on hand (very unlikely) they know right where to order it for you like they did for my Forschner 12" fillet knife with the non slip handle. We had been using a cheap-o pizza stone for making pizza at home and it literally cracked in half. When it happened, I heard it and thought, "really?!". So we needed a new pizza stone, obviously one that works better. We found one! It's big enough to fit a large size pizza on. My only issue with making pizzas that big is getting the whole thing on the stone. Chefs' Toys also offers knife sharpening service and carries Wustof knives. This is a really fun store if you're into cooking. The professional kitchen tools vs "civilian" tools, the difference is really night and day. Time to check on a new paring knife for me!
