I'm writing this as a personal home cook. If you're running a restaurant please disregard. Very friendly and open place that is good for professionals and personal chefs who know what they want. No returns if you buy for personal use. Good choice regarding the basics like aluminum trays, knives, and pots. Chef toys may have more of a selection (like Matfer Bourgeot Carbon Steel pans) and sometimes I have to use tigerchef (tri ply winco stockpot and acrylic cocktail shaker) or other places (INAO wine glasses designed for tasting) but I usually can find 90% of what I want, get a cashier promptly, and know I'm getting a bargain. I own two restaurants and periodically buy items at any of their locations. I recently purchased their most expensive Sashimi knife 160 plus tax thinking the quality should be the best. Unfortunately after 2 times of usage the blade began to rust. Ive bought 20 dollar blades that don't even rust! So i brought it back to the Irvine location to either return or exchange as it my be a manufacturer defect. Upon walking in I explained to a sales associate name Sandy and she approached the manager Alvin and as they were talking Sandy dropped my rusty 160 knife on the ground damaging the tip. Alvin refused to do an exchange but offered me 15 dollars for the knife. ive never heard of anything like this before. i paid 160 plus tax and he turns and offers me 15 dollars after Sandy had dropped it on the floor. Ive reached out to see if I can get a hold of corporate to make things right. A gentleman named Eric said the knife required it to be wiped down after use. it not one informed me that and also no instructions in the box explaining that neither. Action Sales doesn't seem to back up their products. But for now i'm never coming back to any Action Sales as I believe this situation was not handled properly. read more

The staff Yi Zhou (a very tall guy) is very unprofessional and impolite! I went to this store today, and I showed the pictures of the multiple items to him, and wished him to show me directly where they are. However, he just perfunctorily pointed a general directions to me, and he let me find the items by myself. It's still hard to find the exact place of multiple items with just a general direction. Also, he just ignored me when I tried to ask him again. I went to this store several times previously, and the staffs were all friendly and willing to help me find out the exact places of the items.
