Location is easy to get around. Parking lot wasnt full so I was able to park without any issues. We didnt try any food since we were just wine tasting . Their dinner doesnt start until 5pm. Area itself was really nice. There is an island for people to be surrounded by Koi fish but its only for 2 large groups (or 1) of 8+. You can be able to feed the koi fish for free. Just had to ask. Dog friendly (they have to be leashed) and kid friendly too. Would go again in the future

First, the positives: The staff I interacted with were friendly, and the actual ride to Stehekin was extremely comfortable and offered absolutely stunning views of Lake Chelan. It's a truly unique experience to be ferried deep into the North Cascades and Lady of the Lake provides an essential service for hikers and visitors heading to remote destinations like Stehekin. However, my experience was unfortunately impacted by poor communication and inconsistent service. Less than 24 hours before our departure, I received an email stating that there was a mechanical issue with the Lady Express and that a different vessel might be used. The message asked passengers to arrive 30 minutes early to help accommodate everyone, which we did. However, there was not a clear explanation of what the replacement vessel would be or how it would differ. Most notably, it was only once I boarded the boat that I learned I was on the four hour ferry, not the 2.5 hour express ferry I had originally booked and paid for. The significant time difference was not mentioned in the email nor was there any reference to compensation or a refund for the downgraded experience. What's worse, when I reached out for follow-up or clarification - twice - I never received a response. I understand mechanical issues arise but the lack of accountability and customer service is extremely disappointing and continues to leave a bad taste in what could have otherwise been a beautiful and seamless journey. The ferry back from Stehekin to Chelan was on the express vessel, but it was overcrowded and uncomfortably warm. It appeared they were attempting to accommodate passengers who had booked express service on a different vessel, leading to what felt like an over capacity situation. I know Lady of the Lake plays an important role in the region, and I sincerely hope the company improves its communication, reliability, and responsiveness - especially when plans change or services are altered. The unexpected change in arrival time significantly impacted my plans in Stehekin and I would have made different choices had that information been communicated clearly the day before. All in all, visitors deserve timely, transparent communication, particularly in a place as remote and special as Chelan and Stehekin.

Posted this back in July. We have yet to receive the promised refund. Even though Debbie swore she put it through. We went back up there in early August and was rudly told she didn't even need to refund him. We are so disappointed in the lack of competence in the diagnosing and the customer service at Mill Bay.

Supper nice and helpful. Boat could not be completely repaired in time for our vacation due to lack of part availability. However, Aaron was able to provide a temporary solution that was safe and reliable that same day. His goal was to get us a working boat for our vacation. And he did that. In fact, Aaron and Frazier stayed about 90 mins (maybe more) after closing time to get us operational. They were slammed with work but were still so nice, genuine, and honest... and staying late to help ensure we had our boat during our vacation was over the top. Thank you Aaron and Frazier!! Office manager was also friendly and helpful. Recommend them to everyone.

At that time we met Brian, the owner/outfitter, and were impressed with what he had to offer though we were just passing through at the time. We learned from his sidekick that the only reason the beautiful homes, cabins, and ranch at the south end of the lake weren't destroyed in the fire is that Brian and some helpers stayed to keep things watered down when official help wasn't. That's true grit. Fast track to now, and we were planning on staying in Chelan (about 40 minutes away) and I wanted to do some trail riding. I found the newly updated website (really well done - AltaLakeRanch) and contacted Tara, Brian's daughter, who has taken the reins of the ranch now that the Covid issues have passed. She returned my message immediately, something that sooooo many other riding places seem unable to do. She answers her phone. Long story short, we got two rides scheduled for early in the week. She does have a two rider minimum, like so many trail riding places. First two-hour ride ended up being just the two of us, and since I've had horses about forever we could take some of the steeper and rockier trails. This time I rode Bella, a draft/Friesian cross and a giant horse. These trails weren't the easiest, yet she never missed a beat. Since Bella hyper-enjoyed the spring grass, Tara did have to get off her horse to adjust (tighten) up Bella's cinch a few times around her round belly. Otherwise, the saddle fit me well. Tara was riding a young horse that wasn't "string" ready yet but still seemed very well trained to me. Dog Rip, already a great trail dog for his age, joined us. Second two-hour ride we had another person join us, not a regular rider though very fit. Tara asked if I wanted to ride her horse June from the day before (guess I passed the riding test!) so I rode third with her. Once she is on the official string she'll be a favorite as she is nicely trained, moved off the leg really well, was also very sure footed, and just was a pleasure to ride. Well, that plus she isn't a mile high like Bella. Tara rode June's sister, also a young horse in training, and she did great too. Got to add here that Tara knows her horses' quirks well and has appropriate tack for each horse and rider combo. It's awful trying to ride hilly ground on a saddle built for a giant that you slosh around in. This time we took different trails which were more suitable for less experienced riders and really enjoyed the scenery and mountain wildflowers. With 500 acres in this three-generation ranch and adjacent state land to ride on, there are lots of choices for riders from beginners to the more experienced. Reminder to people who don't ride regularly: don't start out with a long ride as you'll be using muscles you never thought you had. You'll realize that in 24 hours and beyond. I found two hours to be perfect for me. We haven't stayed in their campground or attended any equestrian events so I can't comment on that, though Tara is making improvements to the camping area and has more she is exploring. I'll be back to ride again and check on her upgrades as some of them sounded pretty cool.

Roughly a week later they unceremoniously cancelled our reservation and issued a refund. They informed me that summer weekends required a 2 night stay despite there being no mention in the room description nor any such limitation during checkout. We received an email that there was an issue with their recent website update that my "reservation slipped through". OK, but how is that my fault? They didn't even bother to contact me to ask if I wanted to book Friday as well (which I didn't). I can't vouch for the place itself as we'll never book a hotel that we can't depend on to follow through with their bookings.
