We've enjoyed the lookout these past few spring breaks. We will not be going back again unless the lookout rights their wrong. They charged us a cleaning fee for a stain on a rug. The reason for the bad review is that the stain already existed when we got there. My wife noticed it right away. We were still charged for this despite four attempts to dispute the charge. We reached out to the Lookout, after initially responding to our email, they then ignored all emails after we stated the stain was already there. read more

Our family had such an amazing time, the house was big enough for 11 of us, the staff was super friendly when we needed anything and the amenities were great. They had a shuttle down to the winery or the lake, you could rent a boat, it was a perfect lake vacation! read more

The Rest Day home is perfect for a girls get-away trip. The decor is cabin like and has a resort feel. Sleeping arrangements give several options to choose from. The 2-bed room has a spectacular view of the nearby mountains. I can imagine that kids would live this room as much as the two ladies did. The location is perfect, and the front porch is a romantic setting for happy hour. It is pleasant to greet our neighbors as they walk by. The owners obviously took great care to match the decor with the style of the home. Nothing is out of place giving renters a calm, relaxing ambiance. read more

The lookout has great homes to rent for families but if you're coming here for a family trip intending to take a shuttle down to the lake side amenities for swimming with kids in the wadding pool etc. we came during the week day and when I wife called for the shuttle that was advertised for the beach access it was only Saturday Sunday and no one told us that at booking. We hiked down by foot with a 2 and 4 year old. Sadly to find out there wasn't any water in the kids wading area and it was 85 degrees. We eventually had to hike back up a switch back style STEEEP hill with our kids which was very uncomfortable and hard for our kids. So again the houses were great but the lake side really sucked and the communication by The Lookout Chelan was very poor. Not to mention watching the workers zip around on what looked to be the lake shuttles for up and down to the for maintenance didn't make us feel any better. Won't be returning for a family trip. Maybe this location is best for adults. read more

This is my 3rd stay at the Lookout. Never had any problems and homes are beautiful and well kept. As spoken of in other posts, the management was where we ran into difficulty. The shuttle to the beach was great but getting a ride back was torcher! They said "just call when you're ready" (we tried to schedule our return, but they said they don't do that) Left messages requesting a pick up multiple times and finely got someone who said they were closed. We had a 1-year-old /coolers and gear and it was 95 degrees. The maintenance guy jumped in and helped 4 different families get back up the very steep hill with no personal vehicles allowed (some needed several trips) You can't take people down without an appointment for return period. Love these properties. We have been twice and this time we had s brand new home that literally has EVERYTHING! So first there are shuttles that will take you to the beach, there is also a private marina where you have access to rent jet skis, boats and there is a small almost wading pool for young kids where rocks separate it from the deeper part of the lake. They also provide a trampoline in the water, seating lounge chairs with umbrellas to provide shade. Inside the homes they provide beach towels, pantry has seasonings, appliances like coffee makers with tea and coffee, food storage bags and a variety of cookware. It felt just like being at home because they only thing we needed to buy was food and they also provided a grill and hot tub. It can be a little pricey but we split among 2 families to reduce the cost. Oh also there was a wagon which allowed us to bring everything to the beach and my daughter which also fits in the buggy to shuttle. And how dare I forget to mention. We've stayed here before and had a good experience at the "One More Minute" vacation home. We rented a different vacation home this time, "Joie de Vivre" because we had more family joining us. First of all, the website of this particular home shows awesome views of the lake WHICH IS WHY I rented this particular home! No one bothered to update their photos or description of the house because there were about 500 trees planted in BACK OF THE HOUSE so NO view!! I believe these were referred to as "spite" trees because the owner of the property in back of this location planted them for the express purpose of blocking the views of the Lookout. Other then a deceptive website, our stay was a fun time. The housekeeping and maintenance were very good and responsive and there were plenty of activities for both the adults and children. This is basically a Seabrook community for Lake Chelan. Probably what the area needed as quality rentals can be tough to come by. Location is convenient. Views can be nice. Most of the properties are very large. Not a great option of just 4 people are planning a stay. read more

The Lookout is a fantastic place for vacationing with friends and family alike! We stay at Littlehaven, and have loved every single trip! Littlehaven offers 3 beds and 2.5 bathrooms all at an affordable price. There's a super cute back patio area with stunning views over Chelan to enjoy while BBQ'ing and sipping on a glass of local wine. The Lookout offers several amenities, hot tubs, swimming pool, pickle ball court, rides to the lake in the ATV's and so much more. It's worth a visit for sure! The only negative I have is a minor one and that is that in the winter the hot tub is covered with a large insulating cover. There's no other way of lifting off other than brute force, and that can be tough when you're visiting by yourself. Perhaps a mechanical cover would really help? That aside - this place is worth a trip! Booking is easy, the cottage rental team are great. And if after your trip you fancy it, just buy a house here - they will build it for you! This was our third visit to The Lookout. Our first two experiences were great, but we were sorely disappointed with GOOD DAY SUNSHINE - a large house next to the pool. We booked it for the views, which were very lovely, but the house fell short in many areas. The house was very cold no matter what we set the thermostat at, had a distinct foul smell throughout, and except for having silverware and wine glasses for 40 people, the kitchen was otherwise poorly stocked for cooking and entertaining purposes. There were loud parties going on in the public hot tub across the street until about 2am and we were woken up in middle of the night by kids shooting nerf gun pellets at our windows? To top it off, we were called the day after our stay saying they are charging us for a broken XBox. We tried explaining that our family doesn't/didn't play XBox, has no interest, and wouldn't even know how to turn one on! We absolutely didn't damage the XBox. We spent $3000 to stay 4 nights, took immaculate care of the house (my husband even swept out the garage before we left because our car tracked salt in from the snow), have nothing to gain by lying about damaging the Xbox, but still got a charge on our credit card. Terrible customer service, and judgment by the owner. read more

We planned a last minute trip to Chelan, but couldn't find a house on VRBO that was available on short notice. I searched the web and found the site to The Lookout. After I learned that the developer is the same as Seabrook in Pacific Beach, I knew we would like the community. It was a gorgeous drive up to Chelan and the location is up on a hill overlooking the lake. They do warn you that it is an active construction site and it is. The development is smaller than Seabrook and has lesser number of homes, but that may soon change once all the homes are built and the marina completed. We stayed at the Chinook Cottage and loved it. The best part is the low season rates they offer. They have about 10 houses that are vacation rentals ranging from two to 4 bedroom homes. As a renter, you get to enjoy the amenities The Lookout has to offer. While we were there, they hosted a happy hour on Saturday serving wine and cheese - a chance to meet and mingle with other residents and vacationers. We were told the marina opens in June with a second pool, hot tub, event lawn, bocce, dock and sandy beach. Kris, the manager onsite is friendly and helpful. We have already recommended The Lookout to friends. We will be back! read more

Make sure your are clear on rules and regulations regarding where photos can and cannot be taken upfront with your guests instead of trying to bill them more money when they leave your facilities. No one likes surprises when they are paying their final bills no matter how many people are in their group. Communication goes a long way. Let's not try to get rich off of each other, it ruins your abilities to promote new people to join in and have fun when they might want to book your properties. Word of mouth, and all. read more

The Lookout at Lake Chelan is a great family location and we've enjoyed our second season there immensely.... The only problem we had during our 5 nights was loud music and noise from across the street.,.party goers arrived En mass on our last night and started drinking and music (doors wide open and volume turned up) about 6:00 pm dinner time. Lookout Guest Services reacted slowly to our first complaint register about 7:30 pm and after several additional calls, they claimed they'd intervene if noise did not subside by 10:00 pm...well true to their word they did intervene and noise did stop at 10:00 pm .. too slow in my opinion, putting a damper on an otherwise great vacation. Lookout Guests should not have to put up with this type of rudeness to begin with and Lookout Services should clamp down on bad behavior immediately...don't wait till 10:00 pm. read more

Wow! Much needed stay! After weeks and weeks stuck in our apartment, it was time to go somewhere else. Little nervous that they were going to cancel because of covid but nope! We went! 6 nights, 7 days of pure relaxation and bliss is what we needed. We stayed in Hello Sunshine. Perfect corner home with a view of Lake Chelan. The house came fully equipped with it all. Linens, towels, pool towels, dishes, spices, games and surround sound. We enjoyed it all. Even when the wineries and some restaurants only open for pick up, we didn't mind staying there the whole week and not going anywhere. We grilled! Which was a treat since our grills at our apartment place is still shut down. Had a hot tub, wow! Everything was perfect. The employees there kept everything super clean in the community. If you needed anything whatsoever, they were only a phone call away. Take for an example, needed propane and it was delivered in 6 minutes. Yes , I did time them. The pools were open and only allowed so many at a time but that was okay. We felt safe and everything was truly clean. Actually, the employees at the pool kept coming around and cleaning the chairs, tables and pool bar handles that led into the pool. We cannot wait to go back. We miss it already and it hasn't even been a week!! read more

We stayed here for the second year in a row, the house was ok-great deck. Unfortunately we had a great view of the construction going on in front of the development, the rumbling of the heavy equipment would shake the house. Being at the entrance and hearing the sound of cars with the radios blasting reminded me of home. Not what I expected for $3400.00 for the week. I was also disappointed with the shuttle service to and from the lake, not sure if they didn't have enough ATV`s or employees to operate them. The wait time was as much as 25 minutes. Not easy in 95* weather. The beach area was great the last time we were here but with the development of more and more houses it was too small for the amount of people using it. And what's the deal with people coming down early in the morning and saving their spot on the beach by putting towels on the beach chairs and not showing up until noon, very inconsiderate. We seen to many mothers with children having to leave early because of no where to seek shade. Thanks beach hogs. They really need to make a policy that if you are saving an area at least one member of your party needs to stay behind. I wasn't going to write anything, and I was going to let this go but I feel it's necessary. I stayed at chelan lookout a few weeks ago for a bachelorette party, I booked a house and it was awesome. Absolutely nothing against the house... it's the policies and one person on the staff that I had an issue with. I called in advance before heading to the pool to ensure that adult beverages in cans were okay beside the pool and if bringing a cooler was also okay, I was told "yes of course" and she even put me on hold to double check, the answer again was yes but no drinks inside the pool. When we got to the pool there we were one of 4 bachelorette parties, and we ALL were being very chill just talking and laughing no drinking inside the pool just dipping our feet in on the side. The ONE family complained that we had beverages poolside and demanded we needed to remove them and go to a back corner (all 4 bachelorette parties) and they didn't ask us nicely they made the staff do it. At first I was taken back because we had called and double checked everything with the staff to make sure everything was okay, and he proceeded to go around to each bachelorette party and tell them to move... when he got to the family he said "okay I have spoken with everyone" and they pointed and said since we still hadn't moved (we were all talking about the policies and reading the policies online to double check) that he must talk to us again. So then he comes over and asks us to get up all together and move, in a super rude tone. What we were doing was NOT against the policies we had gotten it okayed with multiple sources and it really ruined our entire day, not to mention the bride was upset. 3 of 4 bachelorette parties just up and left the pool, I'm sure their brides were pissed as well. Again, no issue with the house it was great. But they need to get their policies in check because a friend just posted a photo from the lookout with beers and wine glasses literally right at the poolside for their bachelorette party. It's very frustrating to have been asked to move just because 1 family didn't want their child seeing a beer can (also ours were in koozies so you literally couldn't even see what it was). If alcoholic beverages are not permitted poolside then put it in your policies, if they are then the family should have been told what we were doing was okay. read more

Be careful - if you cancel at ANY time after making reservation, you will forfeit $350, and if you cancel within 3 months of arrival date you forfeit entire amount of stay....ridiculous terms that I have never seen anywhere in my decades of travel and renting homes... I am very sad to write this review, because I previously had a very good experience at the Lookout at Lake Chelan. However, the most recent experience was not as good. We arrived at the house at our check-in time and could not get in. I immediately called the Lookout's mainline and the employee who answered mentioned that the house was not ready for check-in (even though we were there at our assigned time). He did not apologize for the inconvenience and said that they sometimes run behind on cleaning and he didn't know when it would be ready for us. I then asked for the correct check-in details and he mentioned that he could only send those details to the person who purchased the reservation. Our reservation purchaser wasn't actually on the trip, so I kindly requested that he send it to me instead, but he said he was unable to do so. After waiting outside for 30 minutes, I asked the housekeeper who was cleaning the house next door if they could let us into our house. When we got into the house, it turned out that it was actually already cleaned. This was very confusing to us, since the employee on the phone said it wasn't cleaned yet. It was evident that the Lookout's management appeared to be disorganized and not aligned with their housekeeping services. It was an extremely unpleasant start to our trip and I was very disappointed by the level of service considering the amount of money paid for the house. Our WIFI also wasn't working the entire trip. I previously always recommend the Lookout to my friends, but I am not certain I will now. read more

We stayed this past weekend at the Lookout. The house was Independence #82. What a beautiful resort and our house was amazing! Comfortable beds. Beautiful furnishings. Lots of extra touches that made us feel at home and made our weekend extra special. We loved the wrap around deck and the hot tub. We also appreciated the proximity to Vin du Lac and being walking distance to downtown Chelan was awesome. read more

We've stayed here several times in different cottages and it's beautiful. Our first stay was during Winterfest weekend, and we could see the fireworks in town from the cottage we stayed in. We've returned several times and each time we forget we're in Washington when we're here. The cottages are spotless, have everything you need, and are so much nicer than the local hotels. The staff are there if you need anything but respect your privacy. Highly recommend! read more
