After seeing Cella's lots of times on leaving Costco, and never stopping because, of course I wanted to get my groceries home, we finally made it a point to stop in for lunch yesterday. I'm so glad I did! Arepas are a somewhat magic food for me because I spent part o my childhood in Venezuela ... Well, we were able to try two kinds: the chicken chimichurri and the lomo (steak) one. Both were delicious and big! I also loved the cilantro aioli and extra chimichurri sauce to add as I "ate my way down" the full arepa. It was hot as heck yesterday, but sitting at the picnic tables under the umbrellas was pretty pleasant, and the food made it worth it, in any case. I've got to return soon to try the other two kinds of arepas and maybe some of the "bowls." I hope you'll go so that Chella's will be a success and we can keep them in Lancaster! read more

Unassuming food trailer across the street from a Lowe's and a Costco. Do NOT get your dinner from Costco if Chellas is opened!! The chicken arepa is my go to and of course some yucca fries for the side... but you are DEFINITELY going to want to go ahead and order some extra of the chimichurri and the cilantro aioli! Seriously. Like I get 5 extra of each. My mouth is watering thinking about them. My husband is partial to the lomo (steak) arepa, and the sweet plaintains are good too if you have a sweet tooth. Really, I don't think you can go wrong. It's not a huge menu, it's limited, but it's DELICIOUS! Like, I can't wait until I get home so I'll start devouring it in my car delicious (because unless you want to sit outside at a picnic table, which is not ideal in January in Pennsylvania, there's no seating here) it's a food trailer. I was looking for a quick lunch today and wasn't in the mood for fast food from a chain restaurant. I found Chellas close to my work, and it was the perfect spot for a quick lunch. The flavorful blend of ingredients in my pernil (pork) arepa were fantastic! I especially liked the sweet plantains. There is a nice area with picnic tables outdoors, and the smoker was going which smelled amazing. The only downfall was the close proximity to the highway and noise from the traffic. Also, the cost was a bit high for the portion size, but compared to what I would have spent for chain fast food, I would gladly pay a few dollars extra for such a quality meal. read more

I was drawn to this food stand from the Yelp review on my phone. The reviews were so positive that I made a point to visit. The menu is streamlined. In 30 seconds, my daughter and I knew what we wanted to order. I chose the Lomo Arepa (steak) and H wanted the Grilled Steak Bowl. The Arepa is the shape of a taco, but soft, chewy on the inside with a crisp to the outside. It's also gluten-free. My daughter's meal was huge and mine was perfect. Both were filled with large, seasoned chunks of steak. I was comfortably full after the meal. The man that assisted us, was very pleasant and recommended the Jarrito for our drinks. These were a perfect to accompany the meal. They were perfectly sweet with fruit flavors of mango & pineapple. I grew up outside New Orleans and appreciate spicy food. Often when eating some heavily seasoned foods, I am disappointed by the spice drowning out the flavor. This was not the case with Chellas. My daughter and I enjoyed the building heat with depth of flavor in the seasoning. The sauce that was included served to amplify the food, not overpower it. I am a real foodie and enjoy savoring new flavors. I will definitely return again and spread the word about this new favorite. Being a celiac it can be hard to find food to eat when I am out of town, so finding this place was a wonderful stroke of luck. The food was delicious, safe to eat and wonderfully affordable. I ordered the Pork BBQ, my friends ordered the Chicken and Steak ones respectively and there were SO MANY yummies and mmmmmmmmm's while stuffing our faces. We didnt know this was a bit of an ourdoor perma-food truck with picnic tables and such, but we got there right as the sun was going down and it got a wee bit chilly, so we ate in the car. Dont be in a hurry when you come here, good food takes a bit of time as it seems like we waited a bit, but it was worth it. Oh, and that Chimichurri they give you-is incredible. I should have asked for two of them. The salsa verde is muy caliente, a bit too hot for me, but likely just right for non spice wusses. Our family was in Lancaster,Pennsylvania earlier today. We stopped by Chellas Arepa Kitchen and it was the best decision we made for food on the go! Me being Peruvian I automatically smelled the Peruvian flavors cooking up in the truck. The Lomo arepa was soo full of Peruvian spices and ingredients, the green hot sauce is a must try! The pernil arepa was so juicy and flavorful and the fried yuca fries were golden and crunchy. I give this place a 5 star in my book. Really, really, really good food! The arepas are just as described- crunchy on the outside and chewy and warm on the inside. Flavoring and service was perfect. The price is very reasonable. It looks like a small serving but it's just right. Leaves you feeling satisfied and the food tastes fresh. I hope to return soon. My husband ate the pork arepa, I had the steak and my parents both ate the chicken arepa. Hi. I'm always in search of excellent arepas and while visiting Lancaster from Connecticut I saw very positive yelp reviews for Chellas. We stopped today and got one of each to take back to the family to try. They're all gone! Everyone loved them and ended up fighting over the last bites. The arepas themselves are very good and just the right size for the rest of the ingredients so each was well proportioned with great flavor. This was my first Arepa. I tried the pork. It had plantains on the sandwich... so very delicious. It was a bit messy so I used my fork to eat... problem solved.
