Yummy Asian fusion concept where you get to choose your own toppings! Somewhat reminded me of poke but with cooked meats instead of raw sashimi/fish. Good fast service. Mostly just line workers that poured the foods or made your wrap/bowl. Very cute casual restaurant with seating inside if you'd like. I think the bowl and it's taste may be a hit or miss. I personally really enjoyed what I got but I think that depends highly on the sauces that you put in your bowl or wrap. I also didn't love the scallion bing wrap, it was too soft. If it was on the side it would taste so good fried or just more crispy instead of soft. Sauces I used: chili garlic aioli, teriyaki garlic and a bit of yuzu vinaigrette! [its a lot but i think it tastes better] yummy chicken too. overall good experience and i'd def be interested in coming back!

Silantro Asian Street Kitchen is a you do you establishment in which you start with a style and base and then customize the rest to your liking. As a starter, Silantro offers two options. One is a "bowl", which is pretty self explanatory, and one is a "bing", which is a scallion pancake style wrap. I would've loved to try the bing but wasn't sure it was vegan, so I opted for the bowl. Next is the base. They offer three different bases: white rice, brown rice or greens (brown rice for me). Next up, protein. They have two plant based choices: tofu or mushrooms (I selected tofu). At this point, things really get customizable. You can fill your bowl with a number of different vegetables. While Silantro has some variety, the add-ons are more limited than other customizable restaurants I've been to. Vegan kimchi, peppers and pickled carrots were a few of the items I selected. Finally a sauce is added. Silantro has about a half dozen to choose from (sweet chili was my choice). My bowl was great. I loved the texture of the tofu and the variety of flavors produced by the kimchi, sweet chili sauce and pickled carrots. The veggies were fresh and the serving size was pretty big. Why not five stars? Two reasons. First, I wanted more vegetable options to customize. If we are gonna do it, let's get crazy. Second, Silantro does an incredible job of marking items that are not gluten free. I want them to do the same for vegan items. It was hard to tell what was vegan and what wasn't. Silantro was a fun experience that I was glad I had. They offer vegan options that taste great and were filling. More labels and options and this is a five star restaurant.

Although I walk past this place on a daily, cause of where it's located at the corner of E.King Street and N. Duke street.Today actually My first time eating here and let's say it was good. The restaurant was at a nice temperature and soothing instrumental music playing in the background. Then when came time to ordering the staff was polite and fast at putting your meal together. I Love the portion size.

I come to Lancaster almost always because of shopping at the outlets and perhaps some touristy things along Rt. 30.  I've been too lazy to take a detour downtown to give Silantra a try.  On this day, I made it a point to check it off my list. Service as far as placing our orders was superb.  It was mid afternoon around 3 pm and many restaurants would be closed until dinner; I was so glad they have continuous service.  Also, online orders via GrubHub do not inflate the menu price more than a dollar, unlike with other restaurants. You can also physically order at the "window" at the restaurant. That's a plus because I know not many restaurants do that due to the pandemic.  We paid online but arrived 20 minutes early. The staff on duty said no problem, she's started my order and should take just 5 more minutes. She even offered to take my order to my car! It's another "build-your-own" establishment. We had the steak "bing" --essentially a burrito with an Asian spin in terms of add-ons. The wrap itself is not like sushi burrito at Kondu in Harrisburg where a sheet of seaweed is used; it's not the Mexican tortilla either. They wrap it with some springy scallion "crepe" (more fitting than pancake imo) and I loved it.  It kind of reminds me of the wraps we had during Chinese New Year back in Asia.  They do have a bowl option which is what I normally do at Moe's and Chipotle, but I'd recommend bing here just to experience the different wrap. We opted for coconut white rice as base. The options for add-ons are rather limited but that made ordering easy.  Seaweed salad and edamame stood out during tasting in a good way.  Finally for the sauce/dressing, my wife had sesame ginger and I had garlic chili aioli.  Both were good. The chili aioli wasn't too spicy so don't be afraid to try it.  Serving size was big and it was a bit messy to eat near the end; we literally had to stuff our face! Overall, we got what we came for. They do create a niche and differentiate themselves somewhat from competition.  I would come back again.

Very impressed! We came on a Saturday around 1 pm. Very cute inside. Counter service was exceptional and wow the fresh healthy vegetables are Wonderful. We both had the rice bowls with portobello mushrooms which were delicious and meaty. Each of our bowls completely filled us up. The pickled vegetables were great! This place is a gem. We will definitely be back.

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a cute chic restaurant. When I walked up (outside), I saw their large menu sign... peculiar, but okay. When I walked in, it was like the air went out of a balloon... it's a bit dark & dingy - it almost feels as if they're not quite in business. The employee wasn't welcoming. Even though there were only 2 people ahead of me in line, it took a while. And I didn't get the sense that my presence (as a customer) was appreciated. The menu is as simple as the sign outside. I knew it was an Asian style place, and I saw "bowl" as an option... so I'd hoped for a poke bowl, which unfortunately they don't do. So I'd say this is like an Asian twist on Chipotle.

[991] 7/2019 Our hotel was down the street so not sure about parking. I was a bit worried when we walked in and it looked more like a cafeteria assembly line. No worries as it was set up that way to give us choices. The food was tasty and we enjoyed it with plenty to go. I also ordered sweet potatoes which did not disappoint. I would definitely be back.

Wow! So good! Wish we had one in Chicago. Honestly rarely will I leave a review for a restaurant. This one deserves All 5 Stars. Well done so good. If your reading this review go now, order! Support amazing food!

Decided to check out Silantra Asian street kitchen tonight and was not let down! My wife and I tried the Bing's. The shrimp one was amazing, especially with the sweet chili sauce!! The service was great and they explained what everything was and gave great recommendations. The place is clean and has a fun vibe! If you are looking for your not so boring Asian food, check out this place!

Silantra is one of our go-to "healthy" take-out options. They have pretty late hours compared to other places in the city, which is nice when we don't want to cook after work. Occasionally they run out of stuff, but the servings are usually big and allow for leftovers. The staff and owners are so nice, and they are always flexible with accommodations!

Cava is nothing like that. I got a chance to try the food for a work lunch event and enjoyed the food so much that I've introduced it to my husband and daughter as one of our more health quick dinner options. I've tried a variety of proteins and topping options in the BYO bowl and have been really pleased with the food quality and variety--I love all the traditional sauces (harissa, tzatziki), and the hubs loves the crazy feta. For dressing options, I highly recommend the lemon herb tahini and tahini Caesar. The online ordering is so simple and everything is completely customizable -- the hubs and kid can nix onions from their bowls and I can add all the onion options to mine. Everyone's happy! There are reserved to-go parking spaces right at the front entrance, so it's convenient to park there, run in to the pick up rack and grab my order. In and out in less than 5 min. If you eat-in, there plenty of room and seating inside and they even have a little outdoor area out back during the warm weather months. The staff work quick, so the order line generally moves well, but you occasionally have someone who is new to the concept asking a lot of questions about options, so that takes a little more time. For the most part the staff are patient in helping people who are struggling with the menu. The one miss? The desserts. We ordered the chocolate chip brownie once to share and were surprised by how small it was-- a little bigger than an AirPod case and an inch thick. Two bites, which for one person is enough, but not really a shareable. And for the price? For a pre-packaged brownie, essentially? Not worth it. Skip the sweet stuff and stick with the bowls.

My wife, acting as both navigator and oracle, found Norbu after I asked for something within walking distance of our hotel. Four Himalayan restaurants, all within a short stroll, which felt statistically suspicious in the heart of Amish country. We chose Norbu because it had the best reviews and, more importantly, because it offered Nepalese and Bhutanese dishes, which none of us had ever tried. We are a family that tries to make it a point to say yes to the unknown. Finding it is part of the adventure. Norbu is tucked along North Christian Street, though calling it a street feels optimistic at best. It is more of a very committed alley. The restaurant sits inside an office building with a few brave parking spaces placed carefully on postage stamp sized lot out front. Had we been driving, I am certain we would have missed it and continued on, poorer for the experience. Fortunately, we were on foot and arrived intact. Inside, the place was alive at 7 PM. There were low tables with stools that suggested a more traditional way of dining, and a couple of unoccupied standard tables for those of us still learning. We took one of the latter and were seated quickly. We began with momo, a dish that seems like could quietly solve many of the world's problems if placed on the right tables. Soft, hand folded dumplings, steamed and served with a savory chutney. We ordered the "Mix It All" option, which gave us vegetable, beef, and chicken. Each had its own personality, its own quiet argument for why it should be your favorite. My older son ordered the Sweet N Sticky Tofu, which was the most familiar thing we ate all night. It tasted like a thoughtful conversation between General Tso and sesame tofu. Very good, very well executed, just less novel. I had the Pak Sha Datsi, the national dish of Bhutan, which I did not know until I read it on the menu and our server filled in the missing information with patience and enthusiasm. Norbu itself, we learned, is rooted in Himalayan traditions and a desire to share the food and culture of Nepal and Bhutan with a wider audience, which feels like a noble use of time. The dish arrived as a gently spiced stew with pork and a blend of aged and smoked cheeses. It was creamy, delicate, and somehow grew more interesting with every bite. It did not resemble anything I had eaten before, which is a rare and welcome thing as I grow ever older. My wife and younger son both ordered the Nepali Thali, a kind of edible symphony made up of curry, lentils, vegetables, chutneys, pickles, and a dessert pudding. My wife chose the fish curry, which was tender and lightly flavored. My son chose the chicken curry, which quietly became the star of the table. It had a familiar warmth, something like Indian curry, but with its own distinct voice. The accompanying mustard greens, curried potatoes, and a simple mix of green beans, corn, and carrots, were so flavorful that we found ourselves marveling at them like tourists at a natural wonder. Service was excellent. Our waitress guided us through the menu, made thoughtful suggestions, and shared a bit of the restaurant's story. By the end of the meal, we felt not just fed, but informed. Our only failure was not saving room for dessert. There was a chai flavored cashew cheesecake that sounded like it might change a person's outlook on life. We will have to return to test this theory. Norbu is the kind of place you hope to find and rarely do. It is hidden, a little hard to reach, and entirely worth the effort. Five stars, because sometimes you find something amazing and new, and that reminds you that the world is still full of good surprises.
