I love using the fitness room and the pool is super nice. I have never had any serious problems except for my ac going out in may last year! They got it fixed within 2 days so I was pretty happy about that. The rent is kind of pricey but at the same time it is worth everything that you are getting. It is also close to the SCAD Fibers building so I usually walk to class and it takes 4-5 mins. Close to everything in Historic savannah downtown. Beautiful space, view, and very peaceful. Julie is so friendly and made everything so easy for me- from leasing, to choosing the perfect apartment unit, maintenance requests and planning events for us. The fitness area is great. And i love that I could use both facilities in Bowery 1 and 2. The sauna is awesome and the rooftop terrace! The neighbors are quiet and friendly. I highly recommend this place as it has a special place in my heart!!

Now, I have worked in customer service and the service industry for 12 years, so I am usually understanding when problems arise or things are overlooked, but the issues I've experienced in this apartment are indifferent and neglectful. To begin, the day I was supposed to move in, I was told that the renovation in my apartment hadn't even begun and the previous tenant had only moved out the day before. The renovation was absolutely rushed in order to get me in here as soon as possible to start collecting rent from me. Paint all over the tub and fixtures, a giant crack in the middle of the bathtub slapped together with tan wall paint, brown moldy specs and dirt all over the toilet, shower, mirror, etc. Cauking completely coming undone, holes in the cupboards, none of my appliances worked. This is how my "move-in ready updated apartment" was given to me on the day of my move in. And they handed me a sheet saying there was a walk through and my apartment was good. I was told the tub would be fixed 4 days after I moved in. 2 months later and the giant crack in my bathtub being held together with wall paint is still not fixed. I don't appreciate being taken advantage of and I genuinely feel like my time, patience, and money are all being taken advantage of... seeing as I did not even make this damage to the tub.. it was present before I got here and should have been fixed before I moved in. Also to mention - there is a train that travels a couple feet next to the apartment l throughout the day and night. The train rattles the entire apartment building. Not just a light shake, but everything in your apartment visibly starts shaking, including yourself. So make sure you're ok with being violently shaken awake 2-3 times every single night. Walls are paper thin. I chose to live on the third floor to cut back on noise but I am still able to hear everything my downstairs neighbors are doing at all hours of the day and night and all the activity on the stairs outside my bedroom door. I should also mention the LOUD pool parties and when I brought up how loud it is to management, I was told that "you could barely hear it and I was wrong" Think diligently before you decide to move here.

Treasure and Marisa are so amazing and friendly and are constantly doing events and get together for the residents. A safe, gated community, The Ellis has fabulous amenities people actually WANT to use (the business center, pool, outdoor seating areas and on-site gym are my favorites) and staff I would give an A+ rating, all day, every day. Maintenance is ON TOP of any issues. I once had a wasp nest on my balcony, and they took care of it within 24 hours. The office staff take time to get to know you and help you with anything you need. If you want to be seen as a person, and part of a community, you owe it to yourself to take a look at The Ellis. And don't even get me started about the high ceilings, trendy decor, and HUGE closets in my apartment. This is my home, and I love it here. I think you will, too.

PROS: The pool area is probably the nicest I've ever seen for an apartment complex. The gym is quite decent and they even have a room for you to do dance, yoga, or spin bike. They have a little indoor area next to the pool with TVs and places to sit and chill. They can even open the walls like garage doors to access the outside. The dog park is actually pretty decent and they are very pet friendly. Their community events are pretty awesome and I think it's an awesome concept for every one to get together and meet each other. They've had pool parties, movie night, taco truck nights, and other stuff. Kate is my favorite person in the office. CONS: I don't think I can stress enough how bad the cockroach problem is. They are everywhere. I know savannah has a cockroach problem, but when you are paying a crazy amount of rent in "luxury" apartments, I think that this problem should be addressed and be taken care of appropriately and it's not. I've seen them in my friends apartment all over after she has complained multiple times. The rent is crazy, especially if you have pets. I honestly don't think these are luxury apartments aside from the amenities. Luxury pool and gym, but that's it. There is nothing luxury about the actual apartments. Very cheaply done with a cockroach problem. I also noticed that a lot of people park in the handicap spots that shouldn't be parking there. As a disabled person with handicap plates, it's really upsetting to see young people park in those spots with nobody enforcing it. Something that I've seen multiple times, that may just be perception, that upsets me is watching the trash guy haul the trash. I'm sure he volunteered to have the job but y'all really make him walk up and down stairs and carry all that trash to the compactor while some fancy unnecessary, golf cart sits in front of the office? Last thing, when they run the background check on you, you will probably get screwed like my friend did. They use this service that is cheap and has terrible reviews and they ended up flagging my friend and wouldn't let her move in, when they actually ran somebody else different through that wasn't her. I could probably write more in both sections but honestly, when it comes to the apartments we looked at in Savannah, you're gonna have to pay extra money to have something decent and live here. It's gated and the high rent keeps the trashy people from staying here. It's honestly a decent, safe place to live, it just has a cockroach problem.

The office staff is wonderful, my leasing rep was Kristin and she has been so helpful with my move in. Janice the manager and Celeste (I believe another leasing rep) were also super helpful in the days leading up to my move. One of the things we enjoy about our apartment is the natural lighting. I have a beautiful display of tropical plants spread out in front of our sliding glass doors. We have enjoyed watching these plants grow during these past 4 years. 2nd, Parkside does a phenomenal job with its outside grounds. We have enjoyed the game room many times with family; even celebrated a family members birthday within. Along these same lines the pool area is beautiful; you get a sense of tropical. We have grilled out many times here and just enjoyed a quiet supper with the sound of pool fountains in the background. My neice and nephew love the children's pool area. We began teaching them how to swim here. Now, they swim faster than me. =) My husband enjoys the large flat screen televisions at the pool and in the game room. I also enjoy the Amazon lockers; probably to much. =) Last but not least we have the best of the best lease representative in the area. What makes her the best of the best is that she cares.
