King bedroom - outdated and dimly lit at night :(

Wow, I am kind of very sad we spent our vacation with this hotel for how much we paid. Based on their website photos of nice, new, clean rooms and what we were told by the front desk, there's borderline false advertising, so think twice if you're planning to stay at Chelsea Hotel. There is A TON of room for improvement! When booking, we requested a newer, updated room. When checking in, the front desk confirmed we would get an updated room, and when we walked into our room.... It was sadly very old and frankly unclean. Hotels misleading customers is not a good thing. If you need to use the Red elevators to get to your room, you likely have an old room. The bathroom fan turns on if the lights are on and was so incredibly loud that we wore ear plugs when we were in the restroom (except for showering of course). It was not entirely clean upon check in-- there were pieces of dried rice on the floor and a large greasy hand mark on the bed headboard (yikes!!). That was not cleaned off until we requested it to be on the third day. After our room was serviced, our bed was made with sheets that visibly had holes... awesome. Don't even think about using the balcony, as ours likely wasn't cleaned in a few years and was encrusted in dried pigeon poop. The amenities are quite poor. High speed wifi? Nope, it was extremely slow and kept disconnecting. We called the front desk to try and troubleshoot without avail, and it was frankly excruciating to try browsing anything on our phones. There's no refrigerator, and outlets are not very accessible (there's only 1 charging outlet accessible from the bed). We were excited to work out but discovered the gym is in the pool area = very humid (and chlorine-smelly) = not at all great for working out, so we never used the gym. The even sadder thing? The hotel reached out asking how our stay was going on the second day and we raised our concerns to them but never received a reply. Guess how we were doing was not a genuine concern.... It would be nice to get a reply to know that hospitality was their priority. On the positive side, it was air conditioned and the bed was comfortable. There was an express check out / key drop to avoid their never-ending lines at the front desk. The only true plus and saving grace is that the location of the hotel is convenient, just a few blocks from the subway station and with tons of restaurants nearby to choose from. I don't give out many 1 star reviews but Chelsea Hotel was literally the worst hotel experience I've had that I can remember. Bottom line-- I would most definitely recommend choosing elsewhere if there's an option until they have all their rooms renovated and improve their amenities.

This hotel is located in a great area! We were able to walk to a lot of places from the hotel. The hotel itself is very large. They have a parking garage but we were able to find cheaper parking on spot hero. The lobby is very large and has a Resturant, event space, gift shop, etc. the check in process took a whileeee so beware. The room itself was fine. It had the basics that we needed for a weekend. It also had a little balcony which was nice. I was nervous to stay here based on the other reviews, but we truly didn't mind this hotel and I'm low key a hotel snob. Lol

Stayed here recently and it was okay. For the price it is a bit underwhelming, but everything is pricey anymore. Room was mostly clean, balcony was a mess due to pigeons. Staff were quick at off peak times, but the lobby gets very crowded around regular check in/out times. Free popcorn though which is nice. Overall it was acceptable and okay, neither great nor bad. It has a good central location to downtown which is the main appeal.

The Chelsea hotel is a one star at best. After walking around beautiful Toronto all day, came back to my room and wanted to get cleaned up for dinner. Walked in the bathroom turned on the shower and this is what I saw. Absolutely disgusting. Went downstairs and spoke with the manager he replied, "would you like me to send maintenance up". I said, "I think you're going to need to send up the hazmat team." Do yourself a favor don't stay here unless you like staying in a pig pen.

This is the largest hotel in Canada because there are 1,590 guest rooms and suites. There are convention rooms (on the second floor), 3 restaurants (on the ground floor), a KidZone with 2 indoor pools and has an indoor water slide where one part goes outdoors. There is paid underground hotel parking. It is in the heart of downtown being close to Eaton Centre, Yonge-Dundas Square, movie theatres, other restaurants, etc. There is an outdoor courtyard where they can host outdoor activities like BBQ events. There are two main towers. One was renovated after 2010 so is more modern but the other tower looks very dated. It was opened 1975-10-15 and operated by Delta Hotels as Delta Chelsea Inn. On 2012-12-19, it was purchased by Great Eagle Holdings and was changed to Delta Chelsea Toronto and under control of its subsidiary Langham Hospitality Group. On 2013-07-01, it was renamed Eaton Chelsea. In early 2015, it was rebranded as Chelsea Hotel. Being near several downtown hospitals, a patient of the hospital can pay a reduced rate. The hotel hosts many air crews. One of the check-in counters has stairs with 3 steps where young guests can check-in. During the Dec holiday period, there are holiday-related displays including a gingerbread house contests where guests anonymously vote for their favourite design. Going around the houses is an electric train. There is a Santa Claus during the month of Dec where you can take pictures for free. The line is never more than 2 long. Throughout the year, they have hand out free popcorn and/or soft drinks. There is free WiFi. There are washrooms on the ground floor. Unfortunately in the near future, the entire property will be converted into 3 towers, 2 as hotels and 1 as an office tower. There will be retail businesses on the first 2 floors. 2021-003

Staying here for work and this hotel is terrible. - hole in the wall from damage - funky smell when I first got in - air conditioning makes a whistling noise - bath shower is so old and leaks when turning off - shower head pressure is non-existent - huge lines at concierge and they don't staff accordingly But this one triumphs all... My comforter has dried blood ALL over it I'd suggest staying somewhere else

**Christmas Cheers with a Touch of Glam**…read more Celebrated a Christmas party at Storys Building, and the experience was a mix of luxury, fun, and high energy. The first two floors are dedicated to dinner seating, while the third floor hosts parties and gatherings. The space worked, but with the number of people invited, it felt a bit tight -- something to keep in mind for larger groups. The vibe was fantastic. Drinks were expertly crafted, the bartenders were attentive, and a DJ kept the energy flowing in the background. As the night progressed, everyone hit the dance floor, and the party truly came alive. Bathrooms were plentiful and well-maintained, and the thoughtful touch of wellness kits in the ladies' room added a hint of luxury. One minor hiccup was the coat check -- it was a bit congested and struggled to accommodate all the coats. But my biggest suggestion for improvement would be the addition of an elevator. Climbing three floors in heels and dresses proved challenging for many, and an elevator would make the space more accessible without taking away from its elegance. Overall, Storys Building delivers a lively, luxurious, and memorable party experience. The energy, drinks, and attention to detail make it a spot worth revisiting -- just come prepared for a little stair workout if you're headed to the third floor.

I put a pair of sunglasses in my backpack's front pocket, I fully expected it to be crushed during coat check. The staff voluntarily assured me that they would make sure it was protected. I've been to other events where the coat check staff had lost my jacket, so the extra care on my belongings added to the positive experience. The staff there were pleasant and even remembered my face when I checked out my coat on the way out. The hors d'oeuvres were great, I enjoyed everything I tried, like the mini sliders, fried chicken, and bruschetta. We also had a taco station that was good too. I didn't expect any less since they are under the same hospitality group as Byblos and Patria, which I've dined at before and enjoyed. The biggest plus is the location, at the heart of the Entertainment District. It's close to many offices and the Financial District. Our cocktail hour ended in 2hrs but there are plenty of bars nearby to extend the get together for another drink. For example, Grace O'Malley's is just across the street and not too busy to grab a seat on a weekday night.

The level of unprofessionalism is appalling for a venue of this scale, but what pushed things over the top was the dismissive attitude that Derek took towards our concerns. As an example, when raising concerns that our final invoice matching our estimate exactly was impossible, Derek disregarded it as a "happy coincidence" despite further investigation showing that the venue had just billed us wrong. This type of tone, and lack of accountability, was consistent in all our communications with him. Mistakes happen, but the flippant attitude that Derek spoke to us with incredibly insulting. But I did get a chance to check out their Oval Boardroom and the gallery downstairs where the movie was screened. unfortunaly the event was pretty low lit (you know being Halloween and all) so I wasn't able to really admire the venue, but it seemed great for a medium sized event (I'm not great at guessing numbers but I'd say 150-ish people). The Oval Boardroom amongst a few other smaller rooms was where we spent an hour or so with actors who would act out specific scenes from the movie. It is definitely a very interesting space, again, I didn't get a chance to really walk around to see what some of the items that were a part of the Heritage Centre's deco were like, but there seemed to be a few interesting looking frames around. I'm not sure who catered the food, so I can't really speak for any of the actual venues food, we didn't have hor d'oeuvre served which is usually the case for 360 screenings, so I'm not sure if that was due to the venue or our event hosts. I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. However, the shape of the dining area is a giant ring, which means there isn't really a central place for the wedding couple/family to sit. Staff: Friendly staff, however they need to work on their attentiveness. Half of the table I was seated at was served, coffee/tea and the other half didn't get served. And no one was checking in on us. When we finally got the attention of one of the people, he directed us to ask a server instead (guess he wasn't a server?!). Food: Very good food. Enjoyed the meal very much. Overall, it is more like a 3.5 out of 5.
