A warm and cozy theater with great prices, and lovely people who work there. They do not attempt to uncharge you for anything.

Review updated since the summer flood of 2025…read more Pro tips: The restrooms downstairs are the ones to avoid, always use the upstairs bathrooms especially for those #2s. Always order your concessions through the app for delivery to your seat. Waiting in line for concessions is a rookie move for chumps. Make sure to use the free rewards program if you go often. Parking is a cluster-F lately, if there's a big release out make sure to arrive early because you could be circling for 30 minutes. On to the updated review. I do love this theater and it's to great that they are back open after the flooding that occurred in the area of June 2025. The Theater is back open with a lot of new carpet and updates since the flooding occurred. I go to a lot of movies so I've fallen off going to Silverspot as much as I used to since AMC's A-List pass financially makes more sense for me, and AMC's parking is so much better, which brings me to the primary issue with Silverspot lately. Their parking is absolutely abysmal. Silverspot shares a lot with all the other restaurants at University Mall and parking is an absolute poop-show. While I love ordering my popcorn and drink for delivery to my seat, often times you'll spend 30 minutes circling for parking that you miss your order being delivered to your seat so once you are seated you have to get up and go to the concession counter and track down your order and hopefully you don't miss the beginning of the flick. I get it, the parking lot is a problem caused by the mall owners, not Silverpsot as a theater or company but given the load of trailers and advertisements most people know to roll into a movie 20 minutes late, but having to plan ahead of time that parking might be an absolute battle stinks. As a movie theater Silverspot continues to have a great selection of movies week-after-week. Their popcorn is some of the best in the area along with their fountain drinks that are calibrated to perfection most of the time. I honestly get tired of the Freestyle machines and just want to be served a diet coke sometimes. I do wish they would have a paid rewards program like AMC A-List for people that come to a lot of movies often. Their free rewards program is nice but the A-List pass is such a better value if you go multiple times a week. Shout-out to Maria who takes the tickets, she rules along with William who works in concessions, he also rules. Give those people a raise. I still love this theater, a full star deduction for the ongoing mess that is the parking situation, but as it stands its still one of the best theaters in the area.

I am not sure if they played previews or not but I don't think they did. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it was HOT! Like, wow. It was a fairly nice day. It seemed hotter in the actual theater. The prices of popcorn wasn't bad at all. My brother and I both got an XL popcorn for $6 each. To be honest, it's like a large at other places. We both got a large drink that was $5. My son wanted a water, so I got him a bottled water, which was $2. They ran out of butter, so I could t get any. The popcorn was okay. It definitely wasn't fresh, lol. But I can't expect much from a vintage movie theater. This establishment only has one theater room. There is an entrance on both sides of the concession stand and an emergency exit to the left of the screen. We ended up having to sit in the 3-4th row from the front as everything else was pretty much taken. It seemed that most of the crowd were students from UNC-CH. we enjoyed the movie! Besides the lack of temperature control, it wasn't a bad experience. I would return again if I was in the area. I only came here because it was cheap halfway spot between where I live in Greensboro and where my brother lives in Clayton.

If you love live music but aren't a fan of huge crowds and overpriced everything, this theater is a total gem. First off, the vibe here is just cool and intimate. It's one of those places where, even if you're sitting a bit farther back, you still feel close to the action. The acoustics were great, every note and every lyric was super clear, which really made the performance feel special. Muscadine Bloodline killed it, by the way! One thing I really appreciated: the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. Getting there was a breeze and there's a parking garage directly across the street, so no crazy searches for a spot or long walks in the cold/rain/heat. You can literally be inside the theater within minutes of parking. Inside, the concessions were surprisingly reasonable. I was bracing myself to pay $20 for a beer like most venues, but nope, drinks and snacks were actually affordable. It's a little thing, but it made the night even better. Being able to sit for the show was also huge for me. The seats were comfortable, with a good view from just about anywhere. I loved not having to stand the whole time or jockey for space. It's honestly the perfect size, big enough for a killer crowd atmosphere, but small enough that it's not overwhelming. All in all, the Carolina Theatre just nails it for live shows. Great music, chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, and zero hassle. Can't wait to catch another concert here!
