Fortunately, we discovered Groomintales and better yet, were able to get in quickly. When we arrived, the owner and her assistant were finishing up a nail clipping on a cute little pug who clearly did not have nail clipping anywhere on his list of fun things to do! We were immediately impressed with how carefully and skillfully both ladies worked to keep the pup at ease and to finish up the task. When it came time for our George Harrison, we described what we were looking for and then left our scruffy Velcro Dog, as we often refer to him - everything sticks to him - to complete our errands. When we returned hours later, we were dazzled by the sight of our new dog! Gone were the long, unkempt tangles and curls and in its place was a perfectly groomed handsome Doodle. We had left a couple of specific trimming instructions which were followed to a "T". We couldn't have been more pleased. The pricing was very reasonable which left us plenty of room for a tip, which was well earned. We will be returning again and again!

She clearly laid out which tests were most urgent, which could wait, and recommended the most cost-effective tests to try to rule out possible diagnoses before moving on to the more expensive tests. When we finally received a diagnosis, she spent a lot of time working with a specialist in Toronto to come up with a treatment plan and researching special foods (kangaroo meat). Always available by email and phone, the team was quick to answer our questions, checked in with us frequently, and taught us to administer medications at home, even though it took a few visits for us to master the techniques. Now that we have left Kingston, we are struggling to find a new vet as competent and compassionate as Dr. Edwards. The team at Barriefield sets a very high bar.

Having asked for a specific length of cut to cover up my dog´s numerous skin lesions, she ignored my request and gave him her default summer cut. He seems sad after the time spent with her and looks pathetic with all his warts showing. Plus the cut itself is ugly. If I wanted my dog to look like this, I could have done it myself. I'm giving two stars instead of just one because she provided some useful information about one of his lesions. I will not be using this service again.

Looking for a private vet, rather than a conglomerate, the team at Bath Road Animal Hospital said they would do the surgery. Dr Samir Youssif & his team, which includes Gloria and Jaclyn, were caring and professional. Follow up was needed and every visit was better than the one before. A care plan was given and followed up on, details were worked out so that everyone was on the same page. They were a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about Gardiners Road Animal Hospital. My family's beloved senior cat…read moredeclined very quickly to the point we thought she may be palliative. She was a brand-new patient and needed quick action. The wonderful team and Dr. Farooq accommodated her in a timely fashion, made her feel comfortable and gave her a rigorous physical examination. She was able to have an x-ray immediately, which detected that her digestive system had stopped working. After more review by a radiologist and testing, Dr. Farooq had a hunch that it may be a reversible condition despite not showing the full suite of symptoms. He was right. An additional test proved it and she improved immediately after great treatment and monitoring. He also caught a treatable painful spinal condition that we assumed was just aging. She will be more comfortable during her remaining years. My family feels fortunate we went to GRAH because the outcome could have been very different without the diagnosis. In addition to great care and diagnostics, Dr. Farooq thoroughly explained the costs and took care to limit any unnecessary costly procedures. Thank you GRAH team!
