My carpets might be clean but other things make me say ill never use Chem Dry by the Millers again. I didn't appreciate him dripping his solution on my hardwood floor as he moved from room to room. It has now been 24 hours and we had to rent a commercial fan to dry our carpet Our den was wet, not damp 18 hours after it was cleaned. The worst was when the technician emptied his hoses on our driveway which was sealed this summer. We now have discolored areas. And yes, we tried to hose it with water after he left. read more

My initial experience was great. I received an email quickly and set up a time for a carpet cleaning in December for a very 2 small bedrooms and a small hallway. She was very kind and polite. The techs showed up on time after they called me the date of service. The one talked. The other didn't. They were in and out very quickly. I asked about wearing shoe coverings for when they came inside (as they were going in and out the front door and I was afraid they would be bringing in dirt etc) but he said they "clean as they are backing out" and didn't wear shoe covers. Paid a bit more than I expected. Carpets took 3 full days to dry. Not hours. That was unexpected. Then noticed large amounts of white powder in my vacuum "lint/debris" when I did my weekly vacuuming within days. Started seeing white "powder/film" on clothing when I sat to fold laundry , also on our socks. There were areas of the carpet that were "crunchy." I did send an email. Missed the call to schedule an extra "rinse." Called the number back. A gentleman answered. He was short with me and said that it may be from pets or "salt" from outside. I told him we do not wear shoes in the house. This was not what was happening. Told him about the crunchy areas too. He was unable to schedule and asked me to call back the next day as this was later in the afternoon. I was then scheduled for a rinse however we unfortunately had to cancel due to a family emergency and an ill family member. Due to an extremely limited schedule we said we would do our best to remedy on our own as it was not feasible for us to schedule an appt at this time. We utilized a professional grade cleaner and was extremely disappointed to see that the water was extremely dirty. The cleaning had occurred the previous month and we have VERY limited traffic up there. We are upstairs to sleep. I cannot see how the water would be that dirty after just having a professional cleaning. No way. Fast forward a couple weeks and my son was vacuuming , moved a nightstand that's elevated off the carpet. the only visible stains(2) we had noted at the time of service had resurfaced. So, we used our brand new bissell spot cleaner and hand cleaned the spots. Again. The water was EXTREMELY dirty. (Photos attached) there was absolutely zero foot traffic on that area from the time of cleaning. All small furniture (including that piece ) we moved prior to the techs coming. No spills since. As he cleaned he also noticed crunchy spots throughout the carpet too. So he continued to clean prob 75% of his carpet for approx 1 hour. All of these issues were discovered over the course of a few weeks after the service.. Our carpet was only a few years old and was very expensive. I did email the company last week also sharing photos. I did say that we did not need additional service as we Took care of it independently. But I also was not comfortable having them come back out because I was concerned there would be additional damage /harm to our carpets. However, I had hoped we would receive a response back as I inquired if perhaps there was an issue with equipment, product or a staff training issue. We did not. We have had our carpets professionally cleaned many times and have never noticed anything like this. While there was definitely some positive things to note , I cannot in good faith give a 4 or 5 Star review. After reading other reviews, I now see similar experiences with the end result. Chem-Dry by the Millers came and cleaned the tile and grout in my kitchen and hall/foyer area. These are high traffic areas and the grout was black from all the built up dirt and grim. The technicians, Adrian and David, were very professional and explained the complete process and pricing before starting the job. I raised concern of whether they were going to be able to get the grout back to the beige it once was and they assured me they would do the best that can. Well they did not disappoint! Both Adrian and David worked very hard and even went back over spots I asked them to. I had used them in the past for carpet cleaning so when I wanted to get tile cleaned and a couple area rugs cleaned, I called this company. Never, ever again and I wouldn't recommend. Time passed by which rugs should be done. I called and they were on vacation and someone filling in didn't know a thing. She then called back and said the rugs were done and they would deliver. It has now been over a month since they picked them up and I don't have both rugs back. I set up a time and when they showed up, they had only one of the rugs. Apparently they don't do good record-keeping to note multiple items. I added a rug when they were there but didn't think that would create confusion on their part but I guess I was wrong. They called me back later and said could deliver it but I wasn't going to be home so I said would have to re-schedule. When the guy finally called again, I was on the phone for work so I couldn't take the call. I called the number from where he called (and which I believe he told me to call) and left a message explaining I couldn't take the call and asked for him to call me back to set up a time. Never called me back after a few days so I called again. He then calls me back and says that is his private number (even though he called me from it different times about delivery) and said I had to call the office. He also said he would call his supervisor and make sure he calls me back today to set up appointment. Waited about 5 hours to give them time and never got a call so I called the main number myself. I think I may finally get my rug back. Needless to say, this was the worst customer service I know of. If you are going on vacation, then make sure someone competent is handling things and can answer questions and ensure that business operations continue. I have told them that I will never use them again and will never recommend them. I am sure there are other companies in my area who can provide the same service but are more dependable. read more

I recently reached out to Chen-Dry by Miller's to have a wool area rug cleaned. During pick up, I specifically asked about their ability to remove the lights stains. I got a vague response, so I called the office the next day asking for a 2nd opinion before they start. I didn't want to put money into a rug that couldn't get cleaned when I could put that money towards a new rug. After 6 days, they neither answered my question nor cleaned my rug. Instead, they left a message saying it would cost $139 for pick up and delivery. My receipt shows a charge of $195 for services I never received. With these numbers, the cost of the actual carpet cleaning is only $56! The greatest cost was in the pick up and delivery. That didn't give me any confidence that they could clean my rug. I told them to keep the rug. I will be disputing the charges with my c card company. read more

I wish I read these reviews before I spent $325 on getting my carpets cleaned. I also believe they strategically "guarantee" thier services for 3 day because the carpets dont complete dry and settle in that time. All of the minor stains I had prior to being washed, still there. I'm so mad at myself for using this company. I should have just purchased a machine of my own and washed the carpets myself. After speaking with the company, they were generous enough to come back and rewash the carpets free of charge. I really appreciate them trying to make it right. read more

Paid $300+ for a 30 minute cleaning of one small room, stairs, and small hallway. Paid for the PURT treatment ($200+) which did not work. They had to come back a second time to fix the "seam separation" (their words) that occured during the original cleaning. Came back a third time to treat an area that came back. Came back a fourth time to treat the same area again. Then they gave up and told me it is a permanent stain. Gave them 2 stars for friendly staff and attempts to remedy the situations. I had my carpets cleaned today by the company. When I set up the appointment, I said "3 rooms on main floor, 4 bedrooms upstairs, one upstairs hall, one set of stairs, ". When the technicians arrived, I told them "3 rooms on main floor,4 bedrooms upstairs, one upstairs hall, one set of stairs". The bill I paid after the technicians did the pre-cleaning walk-through reflected "8 areas plus stairs". I assumed, as I always do since I have used this company before, that the 8 areas were the 3 rooms on the main floor, the 4 bedrooms upstairs, and the upstairs hall. After they left, I realized that they did not clean 1 of the 4 bedrooms. I have no idea how they missed it - it is in front of you as you are walking up the stairs and literally 3 feet to the right of a bedroom that they did clean. I called the technician on the road and he said that they would return as he agreed that he only cleaned 3 bedrooms. I was fine with that. I then received a call one hour later from his co-worker saying that they could not return immediately after all. He also informed me that I did not pay for 4 bedrooms - only 3. He said they counted the master bedroom as 2 since it is larger. That has never happened before and was not explained to me when the bill was paid, but, if that is the case, so be it. He said that since I didn't pay for it yet, did I still want them to return as "the owner" said it would be a $90 charge to return for the 1 bedroom. I called the office to dispute the proposed charge, saying it should be $29 as they state that additional rooms above the "base rate" are billed at $29 - so why would I be charged $90 for a room that they should have done when they were here? She said that since I got "such a great deal" on what they did do, they were charging me the higher rate to return. Not sure what the great deal was - I was quoted $268 on the phone and ended up paying $333 without any "bells and whistles" - i.e. stain guard, deodorizer, anti-allegen, etc. PLUS I only got 3 of the 4 bedrooms done. Technicians were nice enough. I still don't get how they missed the bedroom - but that is okay. I don't have a problem with them. They were timely and did a fine enough job and were willing to return. Whoever I spoke to on the phone today at the office needs an attitude adjustment though. I agree with other people's comments - she was pretty rude. I have used this company for years but will no longer...but whoever I spoke to on the phone at the company didn't seem to care anyway, so, good riddance. read more

My elderly parents used this company to remove peanut oil from their very clean and 1 year old home to prevent my 2 year old from reacting to possible residual peanut oil. There was ONE stain on their couch (not a peanut oil stain), which they did not remove. Of course, they offer a "money back guarantee" (the only way this company is still thriving). They also completely failed to clean one side of an area rug. We look forward to them keeping their word and coming out to properly finish the job next week. What really disturbed me was the complete lack of customer service and repugnant behavior via phone from the "owner". When I explained that my mom was given a completely, and much lower, quote when she initially called to inquire about pricing, he and his counterpart (with whom I spoke to earlier) kept repeating, "they signed for it." Typical response of companies who quote a service for much lower by intentionally lying by omission. They charged for each extra throw pillow and charged extra because my parents' couch cushions aren't attached to the couch. Perhaps the woman should've specified this extra charge during the initial phone call. Additionally, they charged them a 50 dollar "oil and grease remover treatment" charge which was never mentioned on the phone. The ONLY reason my mom signed this (BEFORE they completed the job) was because she knew her 2 year old grandson was going to be visiting in less than 24 hours. Suffice it to say, she got stuck with a much higher bill than what she was quoted on the phone (410 bucks versus 250 bucks). Again, the "owner" gave me some standard excuse along the lines of "our technician must have seen the oil or felt it." This is a complete and utter falsehood because you could not see or feel ANY oil. Like I said, my parents' home is extremely clean as they have a cleaning lady come to their home weekly. Keep in mind, the company admittedly did not take before and after pictures to back up their egregious claims. I, however, did take pictures. I'd like to inform this company that the only reason I'm even writing a review is due to their awful customer service. Never ONCE did Linda or the "owner" simply apologize and say, "I'm sorry you aren't happy." They incessantly repeated (while yelling), "Your mom signed." Yes, she is elderly and signed (under duress) for a cleaning service for which she so desperately needed and she got taken advantage of. The most disconcerting aspect of all of this? When I basically said, "Ok we'll have to agree to disagree but I will be posting an unfavorable review of your company on social media", he yelled, "IF YOU DO THAT THEN I'LL SUE YOU FOR SLANDER." Unfortunately for him, I'm well educated on civil law and I know he hasn't a leg to stand on, but I have to wonder how many other times this company has threatened slander to those who didn't know better? It's evident this company knows nothing about treating their customers with respect and dignity. At the very least, someone should've apologized for the very misleading quote, but instead, we were met with anger and hostile verbiage along threats. Completely unacceptable. BEWARE!!! They have harassed me on Facebook because I posted this review. They have now somehow managed to delete my comment but that wasn't after they wouldn't stop berating me and the fact that "I" wasn't a customer, when in fact, I was. I paid for some of the cleaning since my mom was using them for MY son's allergies. Not only are thew people dishonest, but they're crazy too. They have all their friends write "reviews" on Facebook to deceive the general public. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. Furthermore, when my husband posted on Facebook on behalf of my mom since they had anticipated a negative review and had blocked her from posting, they responded to my husband with his last name (not listed on Facebook) and his job title. Horrible experience! I hired ChemDry by the Millers to clean and sanitize 2,000 SQ feet of carpet in my home I just purchased. Two employees were there for 15 minutes tops and charged me over $400. They told me carpet would dry in 2-4 hours, took almost 24hrs and once my carpet dried it was covered in a rough crust! Zero stains were removed. I called the company and a lady who was very defensive told me someone would come out that afternoon to take a look. No one ever showed up. My carpets are worse than before they were "cleaned". Went with this company after a recommendation. Have to say it was some of the worst customer service and product ever. The first crew that came out was here about 20mins. One of the guys was extremely rude while the other was nice. Didn't see a change at all. Actually a stain that happened the morning of was still there. I later got it out with soap myself. Called and they came out again. Second crew was much nicer and actually validated that the first guy is rude and is known to be rude. Did more on the carpets but still looked the same. Had family members come for the holidays and commented the carpets look worse. Called again over a month and never heard back. Finally called again and they are now coming back a third time. This is the second time I have had Chem-Dry by the Millers provide a cleaning service. Once again paid extra for sport cleaning and was disappointed with results. Took them 20 minutes to clean the basement (600 square feet) and steps. I was not happy with results but it is an older carpet. Well its been a few weeks and I decided to try and get a stain out that they were not able to, took me 5 minutes with my own carpet cleaner- it's gone, completely gone. The Lancaster Division of ChemDry by the Millers is under serious scrutiny. My daughter is victim of their trickery and dishonesty. Her carpet cleaning included the basement, a living/dining area, two sizeable flights of carpeted stairs, and 3 bedrooms. It took a total of 15 minutes to complete the entire job. The owner argues that the van GPS indicates the van was parked at my daughter's home for over an hour. IF that is true, then the van was parked outside for some time before making their arrival known to the homeowner. Shameful practice! He was going to charge me extra for the stairs AND count them as a room. When it came to the services, they will try to upsell everything. And, when you say you don't want certain specialized services, they somehow get added back in after they try to upsell you on something else. Even when you say you only want a certain treatment and only that extra treatment, in one area, they continue to add things in. Ended up asking them to leave. read more

Worst company ever! Avoid at all costs! We had our carpets cleaned that were one year old, very few stains. They came out and removed zero (yes zero) stains. The carpets were wet for three days and we actually noticed new stains that we believe the machines caused. I called to complain and the receptionist was very rude and defensive. She said the owner was "away" and would call me but to email him. I emailed detailed pictures and asked him to call me. He never did. My wife finally called and he said he would send someone to redo the job but they are "not in the business of giving refunds." Someone came out to "redo" the job and had no idea about the situation. He said he would not ""redo" the job but would just spot clean. He tried to called the owner who he was very upset with but again, the owner was "away" on vacation. I had them few years ago for carpet and sofa. this time only for sofa which is dry clean only. Once all dried the entire beige sofa has a pink sheen. They say it is not their solution and that it must be the liner of the sofa. Really?? Ironically day of cleaning technician kept talking about a customer that pink splotches were left on sofa. When talking on the phone and describing the job, they estimated it would take about 2 hours. When they arrived, it was at least 20 minutes of up selling spot removers, odor removers, grout cleaners, etc. I declined all of them. I only wanted my carpets cleaned, as they advertise. If they can't clean your carpets with their normal solution, then they shouldn't say that they can. They actually walked around each carpeted room, pointing to every spot that they could find, indicating that they wouldn't be held responsible for removing those spots since I didn't purchase the spot remover. They then took only about 1 hour to actually do the job. I feel like I paid an incredibly high price for someone to simply vacuum my carpets. I guess they used some water also because the carpets were damp afterwards. Were they hurrying because they were mad that I didn't buy any additional products, or because they didn't care about doing a good job, or because it simply doesn't take that long to vacuum carpets when you don't actually try to clean them at the same time? I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that they didn't actually clean any of the carpets, as all of the spots were still there after the carpets were dried. I feel like they quote to you that it will take a long time to do the job (in my case about 2 hours, but only actually took 1 hour) so that you think they will take that long since they will be doing a thorough job, so that you feel it is worth the quoted price. Do yourself a favor, if you have ANY spots in your carpets, go to Dollar Tree, and spend $1, yes, only one dollar for a product called LA's Totally Awesome Carpet Spot & Stain Remover. It's 32 oz, and is the same thing sold on Amazon for $7.45. It had no problem at all removing EVERY stain on my carpets. Spray it on, let it soak for 30 seconds, briskly rub a clean white cloth on the spot, and you will see the results on the white cloth. What can you lose, it's only $1. If it doesn't work, then search for an alternative to clean your carpets, but read other's reviews of this product. It works. I have since found out that it is great for removing stains from clothing. You could probably mix this in some water and rent one of those big box store carpet cleaning machines and do an incredible job on the carpets in your entire house. I only had some spots that needed removed, a lot of small to medium sized spots, and a few larger ones, and it worked great on all of them. I can't stress enough that Chem-Dry by the Millers made no difference at all with our carpets. I only used them because I felt compelled to clean the carpets before we moved into the new house, before furniture was covering carpets of unknown history. read more

I had an appointment for 10:30-11:00 and the tech finally showed up after 12:00. I wanted the 3 room special for $99.99. The tech looked at my carpets and made several calculation on his calculator then gave me a quote of over $600.00! I reminded him I had a coupon that listed the $99.99 for 3 rooms. He went back to his calculator and gave me a revised quote of over $300.00! I asked him if any of his other customers "went for " this tactic and he said yes, a lot of them! I thanked him for his time and escorted him out the door. I then called a competitor and they showed up on time, cleaned my carpets and charged me the exact amount I had been quoted over the phone. Used Chem Dry to clean pet urine out of carpets (unfortunately, previous tenants did not clean up after their pets!). The first time they came to our house, they were prompt and courteous and the job was finished in about an hour. Several days passed and one of the rooms that was treated still had an odor to it so we called them up and within a few days they were back to retreat. Again, prompt and courteous service. The carpets themselves cleaned up nicely after the treatments and the guys that came really seemed to know what needed to be done for the problems. The technician tried to up sell me (by 50%) on a pre-treat for the carpet - I declined. In all fairness, my carpet is 10 years old with moderate wear. I have had them cleaned before and saw an immediate improvement in appearance. After the "cleaning" was complete, I told the technician I thought the carpets look exactly the same, and not at all like they have been cleaned. He said he'd call me back. Called me back at 2:50 to inform me they would be there at 3:30. No apology, no discount offered for screwing up. I am a long-term customer, they actually used to be good but lately I don't know who's in charge, it's not the same as it used to be. I am unable to write a negative review from my FB page nor my husband's. For whatever reason I am blocked from writing a review of Chem Dry by Millers. I'm asking my son in law to post this review for me. The company anticipated this negative review and must have blocked me. I want to warn future customers to be very hesitant to use this service. I recently had two new couches and a three small area rugs cleaned to remove any possible peanut butter residue on the fabric. I called for an estimate of services and was very misinformed of the cost. The service should have been around $250 with the tax. We ended up paying $410. We were not told about several add on charges being led to believe that these were included with the service. The representative was insistent that I signed for the service and by the way I was expected to pay for the work before it was even started. Yes I did sign and pay because my severely allergic grandson was visiting later that day. They do guarantee their work and I did have to ask them to return to clean some areas again. But that is as far as good customer service goes. The blatant omission of charges is not acceptable. When we stated that we weren't happy and felt ripped off the serviceman said that he would talk to the lady who quoted the service. I'm sure he had no intention of doing this. That is their "mo". Obviously if I was quoted that much to clean two sofas and three very small area rugs I would have moved on to another company. Absolutely terrible! Arrived to set up and discovered equipment broken. Returned the following day with equipment missing a part. My job was slate floor tile and grout cleaning...2 rooms. They were inexperienced, sloppy, and succeeded in doing nothing more than pushing the dirt around....a filthy floor remained once the drying took place...a wet stone floor looks great however and that's when the invoice is presented. Almost $900! I need to have my head examined...the first equipment malfunction should have been enough to send them packing. Instead, I spent 3 hours scrubbing and rinsing and cleaning up the mess they left behind. Don't be tricked by the great reviews on their website...they have no clue what they're doing. read more

We hired Chem-Dry by the Millers to clean our hardwood, tile and vinyl floors. I had vacuumed the floors prior to their arrival, and they left so much debris on the floors that I had to vacuum again after they left. They also left soap scum marks all over the floor as well as footprints from them stepping on the floor before it was dry. So, I had to mop the floor after they left as well. Then, they poured the dirty water from their cleaning machines on our freshly resealed driveway, and now there are stains that we were unable to remove after trying to clean it. AND THEN, they charged our credit card for over $49,000 (thankfully our credit card company alerted us immediately). We called to complain several times, and we were completely dismissed by the owner, Mark Miller. This was a horrible experience, and I would not recommend them to anyone. We had an appt scheduled and received a call 5 minutes before the scheduled time "asking" if they can come later. Was told they would be there in an hour. An hour in a half passes and no call/no show. I called to find out where they were and was then told they would be about another 1/2 hour. We were not able to commit a whole day waiting around for them to decide when they would like to show so we had to cancel the service. Completely unprofessional and would not recommend. read more

Wish I had read some of these comments before my carpet cleaning appt. will not use them again!!!! Carpets have a scum on them that make your feet sticky ? Im sure it is to draw more dirt in so they make more money in a few months ... NOT... Very rude phone staff . They still have not called to rectify the situation . BIG WASTE OF MONEY. Now I have to hire someone to clean their mess up. Oh BTW the house smelled for a week. read more
