When I got to the dinning area, the place was desolate, which should have been my sign to leave. When my husband and I were walking around to grab some food from the buffet, which had food that had been sitting out for hours, we saw a working CLIPPING HIS NAILS BY THE FOOD. They are charging $10 for children to eat, the service still sucks even after the remodel, the food is still the same mostly. The only good thing there is the coconut shrimp. Plenty of seating but when we go there we are always seated too close to other people. The food is not always fresh and I witnessed a man spit in the trash across from the buffet...GROSS and poor manners, do that in the bathroom!!! Also feels like we are being rushed out by the waitresses as if it's crowded in the restaurant...it's not at all crowded it's closer to empty and in the middle of the day. My daughter and mother got food poison here. Vomiting and all the fun stuff that goes with food poisoning. My daughter stated that instead of taking out the empty trays (when the food was consumed) and bringing out FRESH food and clean serving utensils, they would just dump "fresh" food into the serving containers. We all know that after a couple of hours food poisoning can start up. They should remove the serving trays and replace the food with FRESH food and CLEAN serving utensils each time and NEVER mix the fresh hot food with the old food. read more

Great New Chinese Buffet in Oakwood Mall. Everything we tried was really good and it was very clean. Not only does it have more buffet items than the other Chinese Buffet places across the street but it also has a Hibachi Grill and Sushi bar right in the buffet. You can just pick the items you want cooked on the Hibachi Grill and stand and watch them cook it. There is some wait time for it, but it was also their Grand Opening and it was very busy. There is more seating than any other restaurant I have been in here in Enid. My story of love, loss, and heartbreak with Chen Garden "hibachi/sushi" restaurant begins about three weeks before it was opened. I saw the neon sign go up and immediately called my mother. Me: "MOM! There is a new restaurant in Enid!! A HIBACHI PLACE!!! Maybe this will finally make the move from Dallas worthwhile..." Mom: "Oh that's nice honey, just wonderful... I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but you do this to yourself every time you think there is a hip place to go in Enid... I just don't want to see you get hurt again." Me: "How could I be hurt again?!? Hibachi is one of my favorite eating pastimes... the large grill surrounded by front row seating, the flying knives, the singed eyebrows, the flaming volcano onion... it will be my little smalltown Benihana!!!" A few weeks later, I was in the mall despairingly sorting through the same sequined rompers I saw two months ago.... and I saw that they were almost open! I peered through the dark glass and saw tables, a fountain, a bridge!!! The hibachi tables must be in the back, I told myself. Opening day arrives! I round up my compadres, give some thought to making reservations, but then just decide to wing it and show up ready for a great night of food and entertainment... What the.... sneeze guards? Where are the hibachi tables? Where are the entertaining chefs? I could not believe this... Chen Garden is a glorified buffet with a neon sign of LIES! LIES!!!! For a buffet, and it IS a buffet, it is the best one in Enid. Avoid the sushi and take at least one trip through the hibachi buffet line, because the ingredients are fresh and correctly prepared by less than entertaining chefs. As for me... Went here at 1:00 Sunday for lunch. Food was terrible. They would not refill any of the buffet pans with fresh until they had mabey a spoon of food left in them. Not a good selection of items to choose to eat from. The hibachi grill food was just as bad. Not a good choice of vegetables to choose from for your stir fry. And the sauce they use is taste less. Nice looking place with plenty of seating and a large buffet. The sushi is typical Chinese buffet - doesn't amount to much. The hibachi doesn't have many ingredients to choose from. The rest of the buffet is standard Chinese buffet food. Good flavor but the same old thing. They do have a dish called cream shrimp that is unusual and very tasty. They have a nice fruit bar. The place is reasonably clean and there are a lot of staff so you can get refills, etc. Very average. read more

It's a pretty average Chinese buffet. Definitely less risk of getting sick here than that roach infested Imperial Garden on Van Buren. Anyway, the hibachi doesn't have much to choose from but it does exist. All of the dishes I had were hot and the place stays clean. The fruit bar is always the best part for me. read more

This in my opinion is the best place to get a chinese buffet in Enid. The hibachi grill... AMAZING! no its not the ones that are at the tables but you still pick what you want and they grill it up right there and its GOOD! I usually just eat off the hibachi line and not much off the actual buffet section, but there are tons of options, so you can find things for the little ones to eat too. I like to get lunch there because its cheaper and the hibachi line is usually shorter. I've been to several chinese buffets with hibachi grills in OKC area and I think this one is nicer than all but one of them that I've been to. My most recent trip to Chen Garden was as reasonably enjoyable as before. Clearly, my advice was taken by no small number of people as evidenced by a lengthy line for the hibachi grill. To their credit, the Chinese buffet side of the restaurant has improved slightly. The lack of vegetables is disappointing, but frog legs and unique specialty fried rolls make up for that to an extent. The frog legs were not the best I have had, but they were still fairly tasty. While the Chinese buffet side has improved, there are still two glaring weaknesses which can sour someone's experience at the restaurant. First is the "sushi" offering. I know Chinese buffets offer a handful of sushi rolls in order to take advantage of the positive reputation of sushi. I also know that every attempt is reliably miserable and inferior to grocery store sushi. I keep thinking that eventually, one buffet or another will manage to accidentally fail to be terrible at sushi. No such luck here, the sushi plate at Chen Garden is really a waste of their money that would be better served by a pan of green beans fried in soy sauce or a mix of stir-fried Chinese vegetables. The second weakness is one that stings me personally. I find myself wounded every time I have mediocre hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup here is loaded with mushrooms and tofu, but it is neither tangy nor spicy. It's not a terrible soup, but it is not a hot and sour soup by any means. The egg drop soup is decent if not particularly great. Honestly, both soups are just good enough that I'll have some if I am already at the restaurant, but neither are good enough to be something I would actively pursue. Here's a quick recap for everyone. Hibachi lines are long, buffet is a little better, still needs more vegetables, sushi offering is dismal, soup really could be better, and it's still a three star rating. The prices are a bit higher than before, enough that it's a touch expensive for a Chinese buffet but still a great deal for hibachi grill. Don't let my three stars scare you away. If your expectations are modest, you'll walk away satisfied. Just don't look here for the elusive hot and sour soup that can satisfy my cravings. read more

Forget the "hibachi" grill. Forget the "sushi", while you're at it. In fact, call the whole eating-out experience off, call 'em up and order same takeout. Chickeny! Yes, actually good Chinese food can be had in this overgrown military base of a town! We have eaten in-restaurant once, and the food was mediocre and half-cold. We have been traveling through Enid for years, usually arriving around lunch time. This place is the best we have found. We reviewed all of their offerings, starting with a small "sample" plate and honing in on our favorites. There are plenty of choices. Though it might not appeal to the oriental food purist, for Enid, it is something to look forward to when you're on the road. If I could give this a zero star I would. This was the most disgusting food u have ever eaten in my life. The wontons looked like stuffed fried wax paper and the egg drop soup tasted like I was eating straight egg folks with oil in it. Although the sushi was not completely horrible sakura definitely has better. Seriously horrible. Unless this is the first Asian food you have eaten in your life, you will be completely grossed out by this. Its a buffet style hibachi but they wont let u take ur left overs i pay about $10 a plate but i cant take left overs one of their new cooks cant cook worth a crap he burns the egg in the rice everytime he cooks and it takes him a long tine the other guys can have 2 sets of food done and hes still on the first if theres no point in asking for no onions because they still do it half the time and they mix all the rice from everyone and cook it at once so u never get the same amount back personally i love the rice more than anything but i never get alot back the buffet isnt all that great but all in all it pretty good read more

I am speaking for myself as for several other business workers in the Oakwood Mall. When the restaurant first opened it was great! Friendly Service, wait staff and the food was awesome, for a competitive price.Since then it has made a drastic turn. Most of the employees at the mall, only have a few choices for their lunch breaks, as well as only a short time to eat. I went thru the Hibachi for a FRESH fast lunch a couple of days ago, only to be told that unless I was eating in....I could NOT get a small container to use for the salad/dessert bar. Only one small box was allowed. So that meant mixing my cold things, pudding,fruit,cookies, etc in with my Hot stir fry?? (I don't think so) And yet, I have to pay full price, and get only one serving?The woman that is currently running the business, is rude! You can't get the waitress's to service your table, and the restrooms are disgusting!! Makes you want to know what the kitchen looks like?
