The provider then stepped out to ask another doctor if it was eczema and came back. Regarding phototherapy, I was told there is a 75 deposit before each session and if insurance doesn't pay, the deposit is kept. That was not provided in writing. Instead of the clinical team addressing medical necessity requirements and handling the insurer process, the provider had no input and deferred.

The facility is clean, the receptionists are kind, and the dermatologist know what they are talking about. For me specifically, Dr. Janice Ma has been amazing. She is so kind, talented, knowledgeable and most of all caring. She helped me with all my skin and rash issues so well. My skin is clearer than ever and I couldn't be happier! She did so well that I recommended her to a colleague of mine and my colleague said the exact same thing - she is the best! I was referred to them by altamed and the first time I went in, I was seen by their physician assistant Sakina who would constantly cut me off from speaking. She kept making guesses as to what my skin condition was and what caused it, even though I have had testing done to rule out things she mentioned. They then gave me an appointment 6 WEEKS AWAY to get my biopsy done, when you are meant to get it done immediately when the sample is fresh for a definitive diagnosis. Of course, when it came time for the appointment, my skin was healed and there was nothing left to biopsy. The PA essentially shrugged her shoulders and said to wait until I had another breakout, which is just absurd negligence. Now that my skin is starting to break out again, I have called numerous times only for them to not answer the phone even if I call early. The time I got through, I had a very short conversation where the receptionist was very short and blunt, and essentially dismissed my concerns. The few times I have gone into their office, there have only been at most a handful of people, which really shows the incompetence of the receptionists. I've sat in the lobby and listened to them do nothing but yap and cackle and they always talk to you with an attitude, whether in person or on the phone. It's obvious these people don't want to do their jobs, and why they chose this line of work where one is expected to help people in a courteous manner is beyond me.
