My family was looking for a kid/pet friendly place to stay for our Spring Break vacation get away. We Googled, and found this wonderful place. The picture I saw were very interesting, so I showed my kids. We agreed to give this place a try, as we usually stick to hotels and motels when we visit LA. All I can say is WOW!! The place was a beautiful, tropical wonderland. It was well kept, fun and I felt like I was in a tropical island somewhere. Cheri and her daughter Regina were friendly add very helpful. They even gave my kids toys from the toy barrel they have in the office! If you have kids, travel with your pets, and are into adventure ( and want something way more fun than a motel) I would give this place a try! We loved it and plan on coming back! read more

Found this place when we were displaced in the Woolsey Fire evacuation. Honestly, I was amazed that anything here was available, being pet friendly and very reasonably priced and in a most accessible location between Calabasas and Woodland Hills. We stayed for 4 nights with 2 Tibetan Spaniels. My overall impression is that this is an Airbnb that was ahead of it's time. It's too boutique and not meant to compete with the large chains. Compared with Airbnbs, I would rate this a 4-5; compared to pet friendly motel/hotel chains, I would rate this a 2-3 as there is no daily housekeeping or onsite services. Cheri is very helpful and accommodating. The décor in the Loft unit is entertainment industry, with memorabilia of singers and entertainers. She has strict house rules and procedures to self check-in/check-out, which are on par with Airbnbs. The Loft and Hacienda units have private and safe outdoor areas for pets, with drought landscaping. Cheri has a dog, to be sure, and she is very pet loving, but this is a pet friendly 'hotel' and if Cheri's dog isn't barking, other dogs might be if at all. If some of the other reviewers expected onsite concierge, housekeeping that's a phone call away, they should have looked elsewhere and quite frankly, their reviews reveal this mismatch. It's unfair and a disservice to blame a provider for a client's missed expectations. The only issue I had was that you can hear everything said or done in the other unit. I'm not sure this is because the door adjoining the two units (Hacienda and Loft) was a single door on top of a tile floor, but it was an annoyance. Everything else is Airbnb standard, such as the refrigerator, microwave, toaster, K-cup and drip coffee makers, hot plate, tableware and silverware, TV and free wifi. The keypad locks would be wifi-enabled in some Airbnbs, however, and this isn't a tech haven overloaded with digital cameras. Great privacy, good on street parking, awesome location, attentive host, and the pet friendliness is a bonus! I will return if I need a pet friendly hotel in the Valley. I would feel safe leaving my pets in my bungalow/cottage without me, as there wouldn't be any housekeeping or other onsite staff opening the door on them. It was my first time using VRBO and unfortunately, I did not have a good experience.  In fact, I've never had such a BAD experience in all of the times I've ever rented at a hotel or AirBnB!   I came across this rental and looked like it had a nice ambience, which it did, until you meet the owner.  I have to admit, it was my fault for booking this rental last minute as I was looking for a place to have a small gathering for my bf & his twin's bday.  When I came across this listing, it specifically said in the House Rules that Parties & Events were allowed.  Most places don't allow it and so I was excited to find such a cool property allowing them.  Yes, it is during COVID times and I was only going to invite a small group gathering that we normally quarantine with so I was not trying to have a crazy party.  Because the place said YES to gatherings, I went ahead and told the owner of my plans.  The bad thing was, I already booked it ahead of time and was aware of the No Refund Policy rule.  Some insurance was offered to me, but I thought, I'm not going to cancel because this looks like such cool place and we are going through with it.  The owner comes back with we have to see if we can approve the party and asks me detailed questions about the party.  I think I might have scared her by saying party but I told her between 7-10 people as an estimate and I was willing to pay her $10 per guest visitor.  Money was not an issue.  Then the way she answered me over messaging, sounded like she was annoyed and I was worried that I was not going to have this gathering as I planned which I solely booked her property specifically for that reason.  I called her over the phone to clear things up that can be miscommunicated through writing.  When she spoke to me, she spoke to me with a strong tone, not welcoming, and almost demeaning.  I stayed agreeable and quiet since it was her property, her rules.  I just wanted to confirm everything with her.  I figured I'll give her an estimate and will gladly pay once it is confirmed.  The issue with her was she wanted every single person's name and that was why I had a difficult time confirming who will be coming last minute if any at all.  She made it so difficult and made it seem like she wasn't going to approve any of my guests that I called her out on False Advertising about having Events allowed.  I checked her listing recently, and it seemed like she learned her lesson about putting events/parties allowed now saying "advance permission, restricts, guest fee."  Good for her.  Well see, if she had that written in her listing to begin with, I would have asked her permission prior to booking.  Well too late, I already booked and she was so insistent and yelling there are no refunds.  I went ahead and sent her the final count, names, in detail regarding # of guests by the deadline she told me.   Come the day of our stay, I wanted to check in earlier just so I can speak to her because she said she did not want to deal with the 4 additional guests that will just be visitors for the day.  This whole time, speaking to her nicely and kindly, and she starts blaming me and yelling at me regarding me being wishy washy, etc.. Ok I'll admit, I did not give her definite answers but I gave her an estimate with a range.  I told her already I'll gladly pay for those guests.  So I don't know what the big deal was.  No rental place has ever asked every single name of the people staying.  You would just tell them the #.  How am I supposed to know these things when it is not the norm?  Anyway, she goes on screaming and yelling (even in front of another guest staying in the other bungalow - unprofessional and no tact whatsoever).  I just wanted to pay for my 4 guests, which I ended up paying for 5 just incase, kept going on about her rules, her property, and she definitely acted like she didn't even want us there to begin with when we haven't even done anything, haven't been to the unit, just asking nicely to add our 4 guests.  It went to the point, where she made me cry and I never cry!  I just wanted to have a nice small gathering for my bf's bday and this has been hell to just even have happened to the point where I had nightmares about it prior to coming to her place.  If anything, she should be more welcoming and the fact that it's someone's birthday, treat us even more special so that we can have a good experience and come back.  She finally approved. read more

I'm shocked at how many positive reviews this property has. I have to assume that they were either paid to write these good reviews or they are friends that she had write reviews. Although the common areas of this property- the pool, hot tub, eating area are nice and relaxing (if you are ok with her small dog constantly yapping if you go by the glass door) the rooms and customer service are well below the one star that I am giving it. We had a small gathering near the bar area in the common area which is right outside of her home. We spent most of the evening watching her as she ate her dinner near the window glaring at us. At 8:00 she came outside to tell us to be quiet because she was trying to watch a tv show. My boyfriend and I and our four boys stayed in the Hollywood room. There was no toilet paper roll in the bathroom, not even the cardboard roll so I can only assume that toilet paper was NOT included in the rental and asking for a roll proved to be an ordeal. My boyfriend's brother and girlfriend stayed in the next room, the Spanish themed room and their toilet didn't work. Apparently toilet paper and a working toilet are things that don't come standard with renting these rooms. I'm not sure how old the pull out couch was that we slept on but it was slanted and our heads slanted down towards the floor. The bedding was disgusting and old and probably has never been washed. If the poor amenities aren't enough to turn you away then Cheri's attitude should. She is loud, rude, obnoxious and a control freak. In my opinion, someone like this shouldn't be renting out her property since she obviously doesn't want anyone on her property. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. I've read the negative reviews and I agree with them 100%. read more

I stayed here in the Hollywood loft for 4 days and I really enjoy it very much. I was looking for a quite place and was perfect for me and my dog. The loft is very pretty and they have a space the backyard for pet relief area. One day we walked to Starbucks for our breakfast, the shopping center is very close. Horrible customer service. She lies and misrepresents her services. She completely ruined an event we had scheduled hundreds of people show up except her and the rental. She claimed her bed ridden mother cause the issue. But we are out a ton of money and she never even apologized. We will let everyone know how horrible her company is. She even records customers without them knowing. Don't be Chrri's next victim, just rent somewhere else. read more

I just recently stayed here with my 2 dogs while my apartment was being worked on, and had a wonderful experience! There was a private, secure, outdoor area for my dogs to run and play, and the loft was so charming and cozy. I would definitely stay here again! read more

So at first everything seemed like a dream come true, but you know what they say about that! Let me start from the beginning my fiance and I we're going down to Southern California May-04 till May-07 to visit her daughters that live in Woodland Hills, California. We found celebrity rentals.us online, I called the number and a lady by the name of Cheri Woods answer the phone, we started talking and she explained that she was the owner and a real estate broker. I explained that I'm a Firefighter, but all my family is in real estate and what our intentions were and that we were coming down to visit her daughters and they would be staying with us there and the only persons that would be visiting would be the kids father and their stepmother. I knew that there was something amiss when on the first day when the kids came on the property Cheri waved me over to her office and said "it's going to be $10 per person for unregistered guests, and I replied "no they're not unregistered, we registered them there supposed to be here. So she then proceeded to pulled out her paperwork and said "oh your right, but it's going to be $10 for the kids father so we paid that mind you that Cheri has over 8 cameras on this little piece of property that she constantly looks at, there was even one that was pointing into our room. I was born and raised in Southern California, so I know how crazy It can get at times, but that's a little intrusive, if you ask me. My fiance even pointed one out and said "babe is that camera pointing right in our room?" and I said "no it's a motion light sweetheart". Then about 10 minutes later, I sat down where she was sitting and low and behold there was a camera point exactly in our room! My fiance helps run her family's professional house cleaning business. We were very displeased at the way the up keeping was in the rooms if you rent the Hollywood Suite or the Spanish Hacienda they connect doors and you can hear somebody just like they were in the same room with you, not very private. The barbecue was broken. Oh must I add that if you have small children or are a male that her will go crazy and not just crazy like viciously crazy if I could post video I would. And mind you my fiance and I are in our late 30s and do not party we are adults. She was very disrespectful to us and kids she yelled at us in front of our, 5 + 6 year old, all while her dog was barking at the window. One morning as we we're sitting out front enjoying the sunlight, Cheri's daughter (her only housekeeper) went in to clean one of the other units, that just became vacant and we realize that she didn't have any new linens in her hand or even carried out old ones! oh, and mind you all of the bedding has duvet covers with down comforters, and if you're asking yourself, so what? Then you have obviously never had bed bugs. And once again if I could upload pictures I would. My fiance and I now have bed bugs. I'm writing this review to help other people that are thinking about renting a property from Cheri seriously think about it, or at least take into consideration the things I've said if you do decide to stay at her properties, we thought it would be less hassle then staying at a hotel, but she has some many rules like you are in prison! My wife and I stayed at the Woodland Hills Los Angeles location on the 5th -9th of June 2019. It proved to be a wonderful location. We were in a beautiful,very quiet neighborhood. Lots of free parking on the street, and we both felt very safe. the 'Bungalow' was clean, well stocked with bath toiletries, small appliances (microwave, toaster coffee pot, hot plates, etc.) The location had outside amenites as well (hot tub, pool, BBQ area) as was well. Saw this initially on airbnb and then later on craigslist, when I was looking to find a temporary place to stay upon my move to L.A. I went to her website and saw that there were no consecutive days in 1 space from 4/20-4/30. So, I made 2 different bookings on 4/5: 1. 7 days @ $ 70 each 4/24-4/30 - with deposits and fees = $ 813.75 I sent her an email through her website, telling her that I had just paid for this particular unit for these dates. 2. 4 days @ $ 50 each 4/20-4/23 - I deducted the deposits ($ 200) = 252.00 I sent her and email through her website, explaining that I had paid and deducted the deposits, because they already had deposit with the other unit, which was not being used simultaneously. Today, 4/13 I looked at the website and noticed that the smaller unit was still shown as available for the days that I had booked, so I sent an email. I was told that she had no booking from me for that unit. I gave her the paypal details and was told that she never got my email (which went through her website) and that she's too busy with her 14 units to look at whatever money she's getting and if it correlates with her bookings. She then demanded an extra $ 210, which is $ 200 for deposit and $ 10 for handling fee. I explained to her that I was using the units consecutively , not simultaneously, and I paid 2 cleaning fees , so there shouldn't be 2 deposits necessary, because they would have the deposit from 1 unit. But she insisted that that's what she had to have. I felt that was completely unreasonable to require me to pay 2 deposits, when she's not able to accommodate me in the same unit the whole time and I'm already paying 2 cleaning fees of $ 40 each. Any other place would just roll the deposit from one into the next unit when I'm moving into it. I was not willing to pay 2 deposits and asked her to cancel my reservation (1 of which she never made, but accepted the money) and she responded that my reservations are now canceled, but she doesn't give refunds. And while I was typing this, I looked at her calendar and the dates for the 4/24-4/30 are open again. So, she will now collect twice the money for the same unit. And the unit 4/20-23 was never reserved anyway, but she took my money. I've already filed complaints with paypal and will take her to small claims court as soon as I'm in L.A. Cheri Woods operates this Motel/Cabin rental. At first it seems like it's a great deal and a nice place to stay at. The reality is, it's old, dirty and has bed bugs. Cheri has the worst attitude and seems like she lives onsite and rents these rooms to make some extra cash. However I don't think she like hosting. This is one of the best rental properties I have stayed at this far. Beautiful greenery easy access once you establish and confirm your stay. I stayed at the Hollywood Loft and it was modern, bright and well put together. I must say for the amount of space it worked. Comfortable bedding and there's a pullout couch if needed which in my stay we did. There's a private pool, jacuzzi, bbq and outside dining. You don't really get to see the property owner/ manager during your stay but who really needs to. But once meetings with her and her staff "Cheri" is a beautiful inside and out person down to earth very understanding and open to any questions or concerns that you may have. Nice area and I would definitely stay again! Just walking distance from the popular Calabasas. Sooo all and all I would give her 5 out of 5 stars.... this place deserves it. I have stayed a few times and had no issues at all, Cheri is warm and welcoming host with reasonable rules as any home owner has. The accomodation is clean and thoughtfully equiped, the security is excellent . I found it a haven!! I did notice on occasions that some guests are either trying it on or breaking rules and really need to get a life. Cheri has to deal with some difficult people at times . she does it as professionally as possible , I would recommend it as a very reasonable place to stay and look forward to a home away from home at Cheri Woods rental. DJ the tiny dog that barks is just a darling and part of the experience, he just barks when there is some action . Cute really . One review mentioned smoking!!!! Cheri doesn't smoke !!! Guests are provided ashtrays, for smoking outdoors, What do people expect? A butler? Lol If you want five star, pay triple the price!!! read more
