Love this place. If you're looking for something different this is the one. Way better value than any hotel at the same price.

We never actually ended up meeting Michael in person, as we were a very last minute booking, and over a holiday weekend while Michael was with family. He had some friends staying at his property who hosted us and we had a great experience. Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean, and the communication from Michael and his friends was great. To set expectations, this is not only a designated Bed and Breakfast, but also Michael's full time home and as such looks like a home that is lived in. It felt similar to staying over at a family members house, and we were extremely comfortable and felt welcome. If we are ever in the area again for work or fun I would not hesitate to see if Malibu Bella Vista is available.

We stayed in the room with private bath and very much enjoyed the cozy ambiance and well-appointed bathroom. Michael was a delightful host with a warm sense of humor, and he made a killer breakfast served on china and crystal, which we enjoyed overlooking his dramatic mountain views. If you're dining at Saddle Peak, staying with Michael is a real bonus. Also, Michael has installed locks on each rooms and provides a key, so your belongings are safe while you're out enjoying the area.

Unfortunately, unlike that experience, our stay here at Woodland Hills was less than satisfactory. The front desk personnel were not friendly. I completely understand that their job is not easy, but is it too much to expect some warmth from someone whose job is to be warm and friendly? Breakfast seemed like a nice spread but was not replenished, so you were often left with the dregs of the food. There were no staff members to attend the guests, so no bowls/plates was quite the norm at breakfast during our 3-day stay. The valet parking of $31+ a day was an annoyance; the valets were the only friendly staff that we encountered. When I called the hotel about a billing question, I kept getting an annoying AI responder. Why can't a real person answer phone calls? Overall, this Home2Suites did not live up to Hilton's standards.

The front desk initially suggested that might have been the reason, but I clarified it was not on the door. When I spoke to another staff member, I was told the cleaning staff might be on strike, which sounded completely made up--especially since someone else had already apologized and admitted my room was simply overlooked. The shower gel in the bathroom was nearly empty upon arrival. For a three-night stay, basic items like this should be checked and fully stocked in advance. Breakfast was also very disappointing. Many items were gone, and staff did not replenish them. You are left with banana, yogurt, oatmeal. Additionally, the elevator service was extremely slow. With only two elevators available, one broke down at one point, causing chaos and long wait times as lines quickly formed. They offer tea in the lobby, but unfortunately, the water was cold--another small detail that reflects poor attention to guest experience. The valet staff was friendly--and frankly, they should be, given the $31 per night charge, which felt like a complete rip-off. Overall, the service and maintenance fell below expectations, and I hope the hotel improves its attention to detail and communication moving forward.

We like that it is located on the edge of town and not right up against the busy #101 freeway. The landscape is pretty, the parking is ample and free, and the lobby is warm and welcoming. The front desk staff knows who we are and greets us with a smile. Some of them even know how to sign in American Sign Language - - which is so very nice considering that my sister is deaf. During our most recent stay, there was something not quite right with our plumbing. After the very kind maintenance staffer named Angel tried to repair it, we were told that he would need to return the following day. Though it was quite inconvenient for us to relocate to another room after already having unpacked and settled in, Maritza made sure that we were compensated for the inconvenience, and we were relocated into another quiet area of the hotel so that we could continue to prepare for our business meeting the following morning. We consider this hotel to be a home away from home, and we always look forward to seeing the very friendly and helpful staff and to enjoying the tasty breakfast buffet (best bacon I've ever had). My experience in the room ( I wish I would've asked more questions) My room was next to the outside door and attached to someone else's. Breakfast is not free If you need to be up early like I was I would not recommend this room I got. My two nights there, I kept my curtains closed because people can see inside if you leave them open. The people walking in and out were pretty loud and the door caused a lot of noise. The guest around me were noisy The bathroom was pretty clean Coffee and fridge + closet essentials Comfortable beds Nice tv size (you can hear the guest next to you if their tv is loud) I wish I would've brought a night time tea to sleep better. I wish I would've tried the top floor or paid better attention to the reviews. Overall I just need a place to sleep and close to my job. Would I stay here again - maybe I'd give it another shot.

First of all, we misjudged our stay and needed a night getting off the plane. Fortunately they hooked us up. It was a little pricey at $270.00 for a few hours of sleep but normally check out is at 11am and Jeff was so kind to us-he let us check out at 12:30 knowing how exhausted we were without us even asking. Thanks Jeff! The kindness doesn't stop there: Upon checking out we got Steve, and Steve noticed we had reservations for the week and said we could keep the same room and go right back if we wanted. Not that the room wasn't nice-it was clean and right off the courtyard pool side, but we are tech friendly and none of the charging ports worked next to the beds so we wanted another room. (We didn't say that to Steve, but that's why.) Steve asked if we didn't mind waiting till normal check in time- I believe 3pm, and he would give us a nice room at no extra charge since we were staying all week. We didn't mind since we were hungry and heading out to meet up with our daughter for lunch. We came back and he really did hook us up. He upgraded our basic to the suite in #203 and it was clean, had two tv's and a fold out couch, huge bathroom, clean linens and towels, and super comfy bed and pillows! Nice mini fridge and Keurig with complimentary coffees and teas which is standard but still nice! Oh and I love that the Holiday Inns give shampoo/conditioner/lotion next to the sink and in the shower because it makes it so nice not to have to pack it. I can't believe I snoozed on taking pics of the room but it looked exactly as the photos show online. We felt like we had extended family during our visit. Everyone was so friendly to us, and gave us wonderful suggestions for parking and food and chit chat. I can't end this review without complimenting the girls that kept the lobby so clean!! It seemed like we managed to come down several times per day as they were mopping and had to walk on their floor-but they were so nice and not at all upset. Oh!! And FYI their complimentary coffee is the bomb! I can't drink coffee black, but theirs was so consistently good that I could actually drink it black although I didn't hahaha. They have hazelnut and french vanilla in the pumps with regular cream and sugar and all the accoutrements at the coffee bar which is available all day! The free breakfast was very good-your typical Holiday Inn brekky which I love. Veggie or cheese omelettes, potato chunks, sausage, biscuits and gravy, warm cinnamon rolls, cereal/oatmeal, Oikos brand greek yogurts (my fav brand), almond/coconut milk, dairy milk, muffins, french toast, pancakes, fresh fruit. I think they had just about something for everyone lol. And it was clean and well maintained. Ends at 10am so sleep on it! I saw some bad reviews on Trip Advisor but I feel they didn't reflect this family run business at all. In fact, my hubby and I witnessed a man checking out and yelling at Jeff over something so petty. Jeff remained calm and cool not raising his voice and the guy said he didn't appreciate Jeffs tone. Honestly, we started laughing because as someone looking on we thought his tone was nice given the circumstances and I couldn't help but think of some of the Trip Advisor reviews lol. Bottom line: we will be back especially because our kid recently moved to Woodland Hills and we'll need to stay somewhere close that makes good coffee and makes us feel like family. Thanks so much Steve and Jeff and all the lovely ladies at Woodland Hills Holiday Inn! PS: Jeff said we could have gotten a better rate if we didn't book through Expedia and called the front desk instead. We will do that next time. :)
