I know about color and what colors match w/different skin tones and so when I requested certain colors he really studied my face to make sure it would be complimenting to my face. I appreciated it, as I know sometimes we as customers may not always know what's best for us. So, he listened, he studied and he performed. He did highlights on me and I was very happy w/the results. Faith took her time and talked me through different hair and makeup options. I did a trial run just a couple of days before the wedding, and I'm so glad I did. I feel like some HMUA would get upset if you ask for changes, but Faith was so receptive and professional when I told her about adjustments I would want for the day, and she really took it seriously and made sure that I was 100% happy with my wedding look. We made slight changes to the makeup and ended up doing a different hairstyle which was perfect. Ask for Faith, you won't be disappointed! She's seriously the BEST. She also takes care to set the right tone/vibe for the experience to make it more fun-- it is a celebration, after all! :D If I could go back and change something, it wouldn't be with my makeup or skin prep but my husband's-- after our "first kiss," my makeup "cracked" and we had to do a little emergency fixer-upper makeup before taking photos. It was a little stressful, but I sincerely don't believe it was the fault of my makeup or the artist-- I think she primed and set my makeup well. But I think the oil on my husband's skin was what ruined my makeup. So just a pro tip to any future brides reading: Have your fiancé blot his nose and T-zone before the ceremony and thank me later! ;) I worked with Erika and Ipo arranging the dates and what I wanted for my package and they were very kind and helpful. Book with this company for your wedding, you won't regret it. If I could go back and do it again, the only thing I would change would be to add services for my mom and other family to get their hair and makeup done with me, too, but it just wasn't in my budget nor would it fit into our wedding day timeline. The services here are pricey, but you WILL get professional quality in return. You get what you pay for, and I feel that this was money well spent so that I could look my best on my wedding day. I do admit, I wish that the trial was not as expensive as the wedding day as that doesn't really make sense to me since there's not the same "pressure," but I still felt the trial was worth the money spent at the same time.

I had an initial call with Erika before I signed the contract and shared the concerns I had with my skin and hair to get recommendations. Leading up to the wedding day, they have an online platform to fill out details like the type of skin you have, hair type, and an option to include inspo photos for hair and makeup. They were always quick to respond via email and I thoroughly enjoyed my interaction leading up to the wedding. I requested 3 hair and makeup, 1 bride hair and makeup + trial session, and groom pampering. The services were expected to be completed between 9-12:30 pm. I had my hair and make up trial a few days before my wedding with Erika and it was a wonderful experience. I timed my trial and it took 1.5 hrs to do makeup then hair. I shared some changes I wanted for the wedding day after the fact via email and reminded them of the changes and feedback I shared during the wedding day. Fast forward to the wedding day. We drove over an hour with traffic to the venue, on my way there and received a call and text from Erika informing me that her hair stylist was running late. This is understandable, we are human and traffic is unpredictable so okay that's fine. They were expected to be set up at 8:45 am, with us arriving at 9 am. We all arrived at 9 am ready to go and make up started. However, hair was delayed and I could tell that they were getting stressed with the time. There were some comments made while I was getting ready that didn't sit right with me and I brushed it off at the time. After having a really good vibe during the trial, the wedding day felt off. I was also disappointed neither me nor my bridal party were informed they were leaving before doing touch ups and putting my veil in. I ran back after photos and they were gone :( After the fact, someone from my bridal party mentioned to me how they said they wished they spent more time on me and how they just ran out of time. They're definitely great at what they do and have tons of experience in the bridal industry. I think and hope I had an isolated experience. I shared my grievances with Erika after the wedding and appreciated her response and understanding.

From my very first meeting with Leslie, I could tell she was experienced and professional, which put me at ease. She is also very kind, and listened to my preferences and what kind of look I was going for. I went to Leslie's house a few days before my wedding for a trial run with my hair and makeup. My mom also wanted a trial run with her makeup, and Leslie did an amazing job with both of us. I told Leslie I wanted a dramatic smoky eye look with fake eyelashes, and she knew exactly what to do. My mom loved her makeup too, because Leslie was able to make her eyes look bigger, which normally squint when she smiles. My mom raves about Leslie's work to this day, that it was the best makeup she has ever had! The day of the wedding, Leslie arrived to the house promptly and ready to go! She was calm and cheerful, and did hair and makeup for myself, my mom, and my 3 bridesmaids with ease. She stayed around while our photographer was taking pictures of me, touching up my lipstick and making sure everything was perfect. She helped me feel relaxed and confident, and even added some last minute orchids to my hair which was the perfect touch! I communicated with the team via phone (but left a voice message) then communicated via texts (which seemed faster and convenient for everyone). I was able to set a makeup and hair trial session 6 days before my big day. I was set up with the amazing Moana! I am a person who does not wear makeup a lot nor has great makeup skills lol. So I will admit, I was nervous. I mean, I had my share of experiences from Sephora and I was not always satisfied. So yes, I was skeptic. BUT...Moana did an amazing job with my hair and makeup trial! I loved it! She is friendly and hilarious. And she was honest with me. I showed her inspiration pictures and she let me know that the pictures I showed her were AI and reminded me that their skin is flawless and that she cannot make it exactly like the picture but she can work with what I have and make it beautiful in my own way. And she asked me questions and opinions on how I wanted to look. And the results of the trial session was amazing. For the rest of the day I walked outside and felt beautiful hehe. The day of, Moana, made me look and feel beautiful. I loved my makeup and my hair!! And my bridesmaids and my mom and mother-in-law were glammed up by the other amazing girls from DMA and omg...they all looked amazing! And they all loved it! And we were ready on time when the limo was to pick us up...okay, maybe a few minutes late. But the driver was not complaining hehe. Last minute changes. Lack of communication. Surprise fees…read more The week before the wedding was stressful, but I didn't expect to cry the most over Delish. We were looking to book Heather, the owner of the business, and were given 2 options - a standard package to book with the team or the more expensive LUX package to lock down Heather. For the standard package, they said Heather was available, scheduled herself for our wedding, and it's rare that another bride will book LUX package on the same day and cause Heather to move off. So, we felt comfortable to go with the first option thinking they would communicate if anything changes. Nothing changed for almost a year - until the week before the wedding. We were notified that another bride is interested in Heather, but nothing was confirmed so we could still upgrade the package. We were in the middle of work meetings, panicked, and decided that we would! It's the week before the wedding and we would throw money at any stability as we knew nothing about the other artist. We took out our credit card and our heart sank when we saw "Ok so we just got booked for a LUX from the other bride for this day". They didn't tell us this was a race!? We were given only 34 minutes to decide!? We thought they'd at least have the courtesy to wait for the initial client to make decisions. Sure it's not *illegal* but it's definitely unkind for Delish to pit 2 brides against each other the week before the wedding. Our wedding coordinator suggested to Heather that she should call us. We heard nothing, waited, and only got text messages 2 days later that they would make it up to us by doing the trial at our hotel instead of their studio. Then, they charged us $30 for parking tickets, which we would not have agreed to if we knew about it. We also requested to see the artist's portfolio to get over the feeling that I was going with a fallback option. It took 4 days for Heather to say "Sorry, completely forgot to send those over". 2-4 days is not a long time in a non-wedding settings, but keep in mind that this was 1 week before the wedding. That was 4 days of me crying convinced I was not going to look my best at my wedding. We considered not tipping with all the stress they put us through but we decided that the makeup artist is not a part of the admin team, so we still did. In the end, the artist was nice but the tears and nightmare they put us through was not worth it.

She tailored the ceremony to us and also added a few traditional Hawaiian wedding vows, which was really special and unique. During the ceremony, her partner Mark (who is also super nice and talented) takes pictures, so every moment is captured. After the ceremony: Gigi and Mark took absolutely stunning photographs for our wedding. We had a blast taking pictures with them. She did a great job instructing us on how to pose for a shot, while at the same time making us feel comfortable and look natural. Dhyana is not only amazing at her craft, but she also carries a calm presence with her that makes you feel at ease on stressful big days. Jessica and Nori helped take great care of my wedding party, all of whom also looked dashing! Jessica was so friendly that one of my friends (who's a dog fanatic) chatted with her about dogs the whole session and they later followed each other on Instagram! I also chose to have a makeup trial for an engagement photoshoot, which I'm glad I did because I got to see what I liked and didn't like.
