I went in for highlights and a cut. After she was done doing the color and the cut she curled my hair before I could see the end result. Therefore, I left the salon feeling relatively happy with the end result. However, as I eventually washed my hair and put it up on a ponytail I realized exactly what she'd done to my hair. The highlights (or balayage as she had recommended instead) seem very chunky and you can very clearly tell they look unnatural and do not go all the way to the root of my hair. I've had balayage a few times before an I'm quite sure that's not what it's supposed to look like.
