Dr. Cherise has been my dentist for almost three years and has helped me through some serious dental issues. She is calm, friendly, reassuring, kind, intelligent, professional and knowledgeable about how to treat a variety of dental issues. I have had cavities drilled, bridges made, two painless root canals by dentists Dr. Wong recommended, Invisalign and last, but not least, many new crowns across the front on both top and bottom which made my smile beautiful after having years and years of crooked teeth with numerous holes where my teeth were pulled as a child and not replaced. Now my mouth and smile are straight, whiter and brighter, and I feel more confident smiling. Dr. Culp, the office orthodontist works with Dr. Cherise as well as several more dentists in the office so that they are holistic in their approach to dental health and demonstrate the a team approach. I see some people are not happy with the prices here. I did spend a lot of money on my teeth at this office, but not a penny was wasted. I would recommend Dr. Wong and Dr. Culp as well as the two other dentists at this office to anyone. Dental work is expensive these days and insurance coverage is the absolute worst. If you are not happy with the prices, attack the dental insurance companies who won't cover anything! These companies are terrible. read more

I hope you are willing to pay $400 for a new patient first visit out of pocket even if you have insurance. No cavities, no issues. Wanted to sell me braces (I already had braces 3 times). 1) they don't take MetLife coverage, but also won't tell you on the phone or at the appointment if your coverage is out of network, even if you ask. They will happily make your appointment and send you a large bill. YOU have to do research to see if you are out of network. 2) they gave me two x rays on the same day. Didn't ask if I wanted them. Metlife told me when I called that those two X-rays cannot be billed on the same day. So, in addition to being out of network, I also had to pay for 2 X-rays in full that seemed like part of a routine first visit to a new provider. When I asked, Robin told me it was my responsibility to call my insurance to learn about what is covered and what isn't. So before you go, ask them everything they plan to do, then call your insurance and make sure it is covered. They won't give you a heads up. (they told me this was not possible on their end. however, my last dentist always had his staff call before he provided expensive x rays and services and would tell me we had to wait before he gave it to me because it was only covered 1 a year etc.) SO, IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THE COSTS YOUR PATIENTS WILL INCUR AS THEY TRUST YOU TO NOT OVER CHARGE THEM FOR A BASIC CLEANING. 3) they have no payment plans available, but offered to send me information on opening a credit card. 4) it's a nice office, high quality machines and friendly staff, now I know how they afford it. The staff was pretty nice, and the cleaning they did a decent job but they were extremely pushy on sales in a little bit shady in my opinion. On my first time visit in there they were pushing braces and a ton of dental work that was unnecessary. (As confirmed by the dentist I saw right after I cancelled my second appt with them after finding out pricing differences and upfront costs before my insurance was billed) The second time I came in the prices were different more expensive and wanted me to pay upfront before they found out how much my insurance covered. They had also wanted to do dental work without any kind of x-rays whatsoever because I am pregnant and was pushing to get it done immediately. I talk to my physician and she said that was very strange and most dentists consult with her before doing any work usually.... overall they gave me a shady vibe and were very sales oriented over patient care. read more

I have been going to this office since I was a child. I have always felt cared for, safe and as if they were doing the best for my dental health. As I got older, Dr. Cherise kept talking to me about invisalign. I really wasnt sure about it at first, and to he honest, I thought she was trying to sell me. I figured I could benefit from it but I didnt think I really needed it. Until I ended up with broken teeth, a sever earache and TMJ from clenching my teeth at night while my bite wasnt properly aligned. So I decided to give the invisalign a try and it was SOOO worth it. I am kicking myself for not listening to Dr. Cherise earlier. I have had some extensive dental work and when I am there I feel like the office knows me, they are all kind and provide me with good care. Dr. Cherise always makes sure to numb my mouth appropriately (which I appreciate greatly!) and she gives me time for the medication to take full effect before starting her work. Theres does my cleanings and she is very thorough and gently. I appreciate our visits and her diligent work. If your looking for a good dental practice that cares about the quality of work that they are performing, dont look any further. Dr. Wongs office is it. read more

I've been going to Doctor Aaron Wong since Doctor Dempsey retired. (7-8 years ago) He explains everything and is a perfectionist. His is patient and gentle with novocaine injections-which is important to me. I've been very pleased with the crowns he's replaced that were old and failing. Last December while visiting Sonoma a crown fell out the week between Christmas & New Years. After many calls to dentists, Wong gave me a 12:30 appt the next day, 12/29/16. I told them I didn't need an x-Ray, just needed the crown glued back on....their estimate $118, which included an x-Ray. Waited 30 minutes & someone told me " sorry for delay but we have regular patients needing to get stuff done before year end". Should have left & gone to drugstore & got their glue. Waited an hour, they insisted on x-Ray & dentist glued clown on which probably took 5-10 minutes. TOTAL:$235!!! $39 x-Ray & $196 to glue crown, which came loose in March and I had to go to my own dentist. Just a heads up to tourists to read reviews before going here. I wish I had. read more

I have been going to Dr. Wong for a few years now and she is wonderful! I recently just had to have a dental procedure that took multiple appointments, the receptionists were on it when it came to scheduling those appointments and Dr. Wong and her hygienists always make sure to give you the care and time you need and answer all your questions and concerns. Doctor Cherise Wong is an excellent dentist. I am the worst patient, I come in and then disappear. My fear of dentists is real but Dr. Cherise was patient and compassionate and she earned my respect and helped me get over my dental phobia. She is conservative in her treatment approach, conscientious about cost and a perfectionist about results. There is no doubt in my mind that she cares about her patients and their dental health. She is surrounded by top notch dental hygienists who complement her professionally. The chairside manner of Dr. Cherise and her entire staff leave you feeling like you are in competent hands and they genuinely care about you. They are not constantly up selling. Many dentist offices today are very focused on cosmetics trying to make patients invest in perfection. If you have a great Dentist like Cherise Wong you will have beautiful healthy teeth and you will smile proudly. I really liked the hygienist, she was nice, complimented me on my dental care which I'm good at, but all Dr. Cherise wanted to do is cap more of my teeth. If it were possible to put no stars, I would. This is the worst dentistry practice I have ever encountered. Please do not go there. 1. Appointments are canceled at the last minute. 2. Though you might have only one dentist, the other dentist (the female doctor's STRANGE brother) might just drift in and act as your dentist. 3. My husband went there last year for dental work and all was alright. This year our insurance changed to Blue Shield PPO from Guardian PPO and they told him while in the chair that they "don't take" our insurance. It's a PPO which any reputable medical office knows means that we can choose our own dentist and they cover. They told him that he would need a pre-auth (for a painful broken tooth) because Blue Shield sometimes is bad about paying. What?! No, that's not the way it works. You bill them, they pay a lower amount because its out of network and WE THE PATIENT are responsible for the rest. Either way you get your money. Shady all around. The office staff is the issue here however, not Dr Cherise Wong. read more

I love these guys and am really sad to leave after 12 years with them. Unfortunately I moved away and it's just not convenient to drive all the way back to Sonoma for cleanings and stuff. Let me start by saying that I have horrible teeth (a genetic trait one of my sons inherited). I have a bridge, 2 crowns, and lost count of all the fillings. Though the bridge is from a fall. I love that they really truly care about their patients and take the time to get to know them. Cherise has always treated me like family. She works from the heart and does a great job. The dental hygienist have always done a great job as well, and I've never had any surprises as far as costs are concerned. Truly a great dentist office run by a loving family. read more

Most awful dentist office I've ever been to. To start, they over charge and over treat. 27 dollars for a toothpaste that was supposed to magically fix my cavities and it was barely enough for a months supply. Second, I told them several times that I was on a budget and needed to know my expense before continuing with the work. So I sign an agreement saying how much I will owe at the time of the treatment, receive my treatment, pay my dues, and leave. Two weeks later a bill shows up in the mail for a couple hundred dollars!! It took me weeks to sort it out and get it revoked only to find out that "the dentist saw more work that needed to be done so she did it while she was already in there" ummm....No?!?! Why would you not tell me first before doing anything extra??? I had to go back twice to get my jaw fixed/aligned because they couldn't do it right the first time and kept saying "it should feel more normal as time goes by"....now today I received a 60 dollar bill for a "missed appointment" that I never even scheduled....What the hell is wrong with these people? I'm never going here again. Overpriced. Over diagnosed. Overly pathetic. read more

Wonderful office. I was a new patient in the Wongs' office. The staff are all very courteous, professional and friendly. As soon as I filled out my new patient paperwork, I was called back to get my teeth cleaned and x-rays. They explained every step of the cleaning and x-rays, and made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. I then inquired about having some teeth cosmetically altered, as I am a grinder, and a few of my teeth I had worn down and chipped. After consulting with Dr. Aaron, he recommended composite, instead of the veneers I was wanting. I also decided to do a bleaching treatment. The end result was perfect, more dramatic than I ever expected, without being too over-the-top-Hollywood-blindingly-white. Dr. Aaron is the BEST!! I can't thank these people enough! read more

Dr. Dempsey retired and Aaron and Cherise Wong have take over his practice, the inside now has scuff marks and paint chips. The fish tank now has just a few fish left and the tank is often dirty. Long gone are the flowers Bernadette loved. The hygienists now run from patient to patient w/o much time between them. I had a filling done but it wasn't done correctly and the surface is rough, I hate the daily reminder that the two need more experience. I hate to leave the dedicated staff but I can't stand my filling. You can find their full color ad in expensive Sonoma magazines that no Sonoman would read, you can find their elderly relative in the airstream located in the back parking lot with the extension cord running from it to the building. I had a dental emergency today, they were able to get me right in, everyone there was so sweet and compassionate, the office is very nice. Dr. Culp was my doctor and was amazing with her bedside manner knowing how much I despise dental work. I am in the middle of getting replacement veneers and so far I have to say I have no complaints and was happy with the service all around! read more

I recently moved to Sonoma and decided to try a local dentist. Somebody recommended Dr. Cherise Wong so I made an appointment. Everything was fine until she came in to discuss what I would need. That would be $7,200 worth of dental work. Having had long time treatment from a superior dentist in Oakland I was dubious of this conclusion. She showed me the dental x-rays to make her case. I have considerable experience in x-ray and saw that my teeth were sound except for one obvious defect. She said the defect was a cavity which would need an immediate crown. I took these conclusions back to my old dentist. He completely disagreed that I needed the work and said that my teeth were in fine shape. He also pointed out that the "cavity" was actually a filling using material that was clear on x-ray. That Dr. Wong would tell me that a filling was a cavity seemed a deception. I consider my experience with Dr. Wong as very unfortunate and I learned a lesson about the difficulty of giving up a good dentist. read more

We moved to Sonoma in 2012 and in Feb 2013 I went to Dr Wongs office for whitening trays.(there are 3 Wongs in that office a father(Richard, who I used and his two children). Xrays were made and trays were not offered nor discussed. Two days later I got a call from the receiptionist and she said"we have and opening tomorrow can you come?". I went to the appt expecting to get sized for trays. Dr Wong Said,"Let me see what is happening here and he began knocking off my crowns! He did not numb me so I was not expecting him to do this and we had not discussed it. I was shocked when I went to pay my co-pay and was told "We have used up your allowance with your Delta Dental insurance for the year(it was Feb) and you cant even have your teeth cleaned again until 2014 and your balance her is now 1250.00!My how I felt run over by a train! I paid 400.00(all I had) and left. The temp crown fell off away and I went back to Dr Wong and got another temp crown and paid 400.00 more.that crown fell off in 2 days and I went back and was told by the hygienist that my permanant crown was in. I said "great please put it on". She said "Only if you pay your balance of 389.00".I did not have the last installment that day and could not pay so she did not put the permanent one on. It required another trip to see Dr Wong after I got the money for the balance. I am staying as far away from there as I can now. Those people think money grows on trees! read more
