I had several fillings and a crown done 5 months ago. I received the bill, paid it off in 5 months and that was it. The dental office called me 5 months later and stated I owe them $1000. They gave me a crown that my dental insurance stated I never needed. I have been to this dental office before and they knew my insurance. They never checked to see if my insurance would cover it and now they are expecting me to pay $1000. I will never come back here again. read more

I had been a patient at this dental office years ago and stopped going only because they no longer accepted my insurance Delta Dental. Recently, I was glad to hear they were accepting it again and decided to return, specifically hoping to see Dr. Husein, who is truly excellent. My teeth were in perfect condition; I had no pain or discomfort--my visit was only meant to be a routine checkup and cleaning. However, after my X-rays, I was unexpectedly seen by Dr. Nadia. She told me I needed to replace several fillings, even though I wasn't experiencing any issues at all. During the first treatment, I was given anesthesia, but Dr. Nadia began drilling while I could still feel the right side of my mouth. She waited to see if I would show signs of pain, which I did--especially when she drilled deep into one of my molars. She stopped at that point and started filling the tooth. The next day, the filling from that third-to-last molar fell out. When I returned to get it fixed, Dr. Nadia denied that she had worked on that tooth. According to their records, she had only treated my wisdom tooth, which is clearly not accurate. I felt dental work on both upper and lower molars, not just one. It's extremely disappointing that not all procedures were properly recorded. I'm now dealing with the consequences of unnecessary and poorly executed dental work. This office is disgusting. They will only accept patients over 55, but they only tell you after they find out what type of insurance you have. This is total discrimination and I have reported them to my insurance carrier DeltaDental. The front office lady was very rude and refused to answer my questions. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was given the run around. This is not an office I would EVER trust to treat me. My advice is to call the next option on your list! I was so impressed with the level of treatment by the next office I called, in comparison . The front desk lady was kind, informative, and scheduled me an appointment for the same week. You'll be sitting in a chair maybe in pain with your bib on and someone from the office will come in and tell you to pull that tooth even though your insurance said it was free a large sum for me it was a 170 dollar for a tiny collegen pretty small to fit in tooth. My journey to find a great dentist to fix my crowded front teeth was extremely difficult. I almost never smiled. I was SO embarrassed. My teeth overlapped in the front and I had really bad cavities. I was calling to make my bonus son an appointment. He has an abscessed tooth. His dental insurance has PVD as his Current Primary Dentist. As soon as I mentioned that he had DeltaCare USA the receptionist said we are NOT accepting new patients, unless they are 55 years or older. I said but Delta Dental said you are accepting new patients and you are listed as his primary. She said "Like I said 55 or older is all we are accepting, try these dentists", she gave me the names of 2 dentists in Rohnert Park that are not accepting new patients, and hung up. I call Delta Dental the woman there said them telling me they will not accept new patients unless they are 55 years or older is considered age discrimination. Then she told me that if I change his primary now it will be a month before I can take him to his new primary... she said to call PVD back and ask them to have the dentist (since they will not take a minor) to send a referral to a pediatric dentist so he can be seen right away because it is the only way they can cover it. So I called PVD back and told the receptionist and she said, "We will not do that." I told her that is the only way for him to be able to be seen right now. She responded with "Like I said call the other dentists that I gave you earlier." I told her they were not accepting new patients. She said I don't know what to tell you We won't accept him." Then she hung up on me AGAIN. This woman has no customer service skills at all and was very rude I would never refer ANYONE there even if they were taking patients under 55!! I use to drive for a dental prosthetics company and deal with the sweetest young woman that worked there, then she had a baby... the female that I had to deal with after her was very rude.... This review is my personal opinion & personal experience. This office cancelled or rescheduled my appointment on several occasions. I did my best to accommodate this office and the Dentist. They tried to reschedule my May 1st appointment. I tried to accommodate them. But had to call and leave a message on voice mail that I could not make the appointment, they should reschedule me. No call back from anyone. Three months later I Received an invoice in the mail for $150.00. no show appointment. When I spoke to Amber she did not remember the voice mail. She stated I did not leave one, although my cell phone bill shows the time, date & duration of the call. When I asked for the owner's name and spelling, she asked me why I could not remember my own dentist's name! Very rude. Amber refused to give me the name of the Dr that owns the practice or how to spell it. She was only willing to give me the web site, told me to look it up myself. I am 73 years old and do not know the computer very well. Maybe Amber only treats Seniors in this manner. Shame on you, you will be a Senior one day! read more

I came here as a second opinion, and was I ever pleased! I have been to a half a dozen or so dentists in recent memory, and unfortunately their stereotypical reputation tends to hold true. This place is different. Sierra was the "hook", for me, she would follow up, answer questions, kept me engaged, made me feel like I was wanted to be there, not just another "patient", of course, "doc", has a great relaxed bedside manner, a dentist that actually smiles and jokes with you, he doesn't sugar coat the facts, but wants to work with you on your goals, Romi the hygienist is as gentle as can be, half the time you don't even know you are going though a procedure, Amber is up front, the first you see coming in, the last you see going out, warm and friendly, puts you at ease the moment you walk in. Just had an implant put in, obviously a bit apprehensive that someone is going to drill in my jaw and put in a screw, but with doc's skilled hands and Sierra in to assist assuring a smooth and pain free process, it was as smooth as one could expect, your comfort level is a high priority, and it shows. There follow up is also exceptional! Bottom line, no one likes going to the dentist, but this team is so awesome, I am actually going to get back to twice a year like we all should!!!!! Having struggled with finding a good dentist, I found one. Super happy with PVD's office and work. I needed two crowns and wanted my old, black fillings replaced with white. Extremely professional group at PVD, friendly, too. I met Sierra, Sylvia, Ashley and Amber, all made my visits comfortable and believe it or not, kind of fun. Doc is a talented and caring dentist, and personable, couldn't ask for better. Their office worked well with my insurance. Dr. Firas Husein ripped me and my dad off.  They overcharge, changed pricing after issuing quotes, and they kept our Medicare reimbursement from my dad's surgery.  They kept 75% of what Medicare paid stating it was for "billing fees".  Complete fraud.  And then he wanted to charge us $30K to finish my dad's dentures.  I went to two other dentists - both quoted me $14K for everything.  Dr. Firas's prices are 2x higher than anyone else in Petaluma. I am so disappointed with our experience at this place. We had high hopes based on some of the reviews but it turns out that we had a horrible experience not once, but TWICE. Both of my daughters went here a week apart and BOTH were treated with blatant disrespect. The dental assistant is kind but the dentist himself was misogynistic and disrespectful. He called my daughter a boy, he made fun of her name and he was overall rude to her. The front desk cancelled on me and then denied cancelling because they did not have record of it in their system. really? I would urge you to consider another dentist. Unbelievable. Did over $5,000 dollars of work in the last six months with FIRAS HUSEIN and it appears he will only do cleanings when it is in conjunction with a crown or other work. Impossible to book a cleaning by itself. Told it is at least a year wait, but they could put you on a wait list. Calling around to other dentists and they will not do a cleaning without scheduling an exam first and x-rays. Which probably will not be covered as this HUSEIN just did this 6 months ago. Hope FIRAS HUSEIN, DDS will rethink this, or at least find a dental hygienist I could use without having to fill out reams of paperwork all over again. i had my 2 implant bridges done with Dr Firas Husein , in Petaluma valley dental, it took me one year', and i had the worst experience in my life with this place ,i paid $ 18,874 for this job Andy he signed the contract to do one missing tooth bridge for $ 1874 . After he kept my money for a year , he have sent me an email and fired me as his patient, because of my survey that he had sent me to do it, and he didn't like . this Dr's office, manager Amanda is the most unprofessional and cruel as well as incompetent personal staff, that works under dr's supervision. I got diagnosed with cancer, during my visit, Every time I did go to this office , Ms. Amanda treated me and my sister that she is my caregiver , without greeting and zero professional behavior, and I asked Dr Hussein to train his staff and he didn't like and he didn't finish his job with all the Health challenges that I am going through, still I have missing tooth Just because he didn't like my survey about his secretary. Well, after reading a few of the reviews, glowing and not so glowing, I thought I'd share my experience with this office. This was the dentist I was assigned to with my Senior Advantage Plus plan with Kaiser. There are so many plans out there and this is the one that includes two cleanings per year, and even more if you get two within six months I just recently found out, plus a yearly exam and bite wings yearly and panoramic I think every three years. So after getting a cleaning from the dentist, Dr. Husein, lasting fifteen minutes and not up to par with having a hygienist clean your teeth whatsoever, I was told I needed a crown in the only molar that did not have one which I since found out was not true. I did find out my hygienist from the dental office I was going to previously worked there one day a week and proceeded to book an appointment with her. When I called to confirm and make sure I would get my appointment with Nicole, who is very good, by the way, and pleasant and a joy to have your teeth cleaned by, I was told by the very rude front desk gal whose name I have forgotten that I am booked with the dentist! Why she didn't tell me Nicole was on maternity leave is beyond me. So I ended up seeing someone named Flora and I was told she was a dentist but is now a hygienist which seemed weird. That was a cleaning I will never forget, fluoride in my hair on top of it and just an overall very unprofessional from a cleaning from somebody I'm not even sure is licensed. I'd like to have proof of that and a reply if that is the case. So after that visit, and asking me how was my cleaning, and me just saying "Fine" I receive a letter from Dr. Husein telling me to seek out another dentist on the plan because apparently he does not like the fact I prefer a licensed hygienist like Nicole to clean my teeth instead of incompetent people or a dentist. So this Delta Dental plan is really questionable and I feel the dentists on this plan need the patients. They pad the bill for sure I think since the experience I had with the second dentist and her plan would cost the same as at a regular dentist for a crown. Then they also bill the insurance company on top of it. She even charged $71 to the insurance company when I went for an exam and x-rays to say it was for "oral hygiene instructions." Right. After 65 years, she has to tell me how to take care of my teeth. I use the Waterpik, Sonic toothbrush, floss twice daily and use mouth wash a.m. and p.m. and even the Sulca brush which they did not hear about. This was at another dentist on this plan named Dr. Achychuta who would not book a cleaning for me since I did not spend the $3700 for the plan she had for me for work she said needed to be done. I went to my regular dentist since it would be less than what she was going to charge and did have two crowns replaced and another one done on a tooth that was not the one Dr. Husein said I needed it done on. That tooth is fine. So that is my experience thus far with two dentists I find incompetent to even be in practice. By the way, Dr. Husein sent a letter to my 90 year old mom telling her to seek another dentist and he did a crown on her she probably didn't need and sent her out for a root canal to a specialist and she had that done and then was told the tooth next to it needed a root canal also. Funny thing is that tooth already had been done by another dentist who performed a root canal. Do they just want to take advantage of the elderly and do work on them because they are in their 90s or what. Run, don't walk, from this office and the other office I mentioned. read more

He also does excellent dental work with the least discomfort possible. I was told that my visit would be a $2000 and insurance would pay half. I paid $1000 and scheduled the work. Dr. Husein told me I had the worst teeth he had ever seen once he started working on me. His assistants were talking about sensitive HIPPA information within earshot of me and other clients in other rooms. After the work was done. I was told that insurance was not going to pay for the other half of the bill and that I owed them $1000. I got another call a few days later saying that I owed them another $1000 dollars on top of that, because the original amount was based on insurance rates. read more

This dentist does not schedule cleaning appointments. For the past few years my husband & I could not schedule regular appts to have our teeth cleaned. Initally they said it was due to the lack of hygienists. Now it is due to COVID. They have cancelled my husband's cleaning appts several times. They did however, get me in because I now need periodontal cleanings which cost $249 per cleaning. It should be noted that I need the periodontal cleanings because I couldn't get in for regular cleaning appts previously. I was very satisfied with the work Dr. Husein provided but if you can't get your teeth cleaned on a regular basis, you will need additional dental care & be forced to pay much more for dental care in the long run. read more

I really like this place. I haven't been to a dentist for over 5 years and have a slight fear for it. However, I was having a toothache and realized it is time to finally go back. Overall, everything was great. The service was superb. The front desk work really hard to make sure the client is welcomed. I was having some issues with my insurance because the place said they couldn't find me on their records. The front desk worked super hard to find me and have a few phone calls they did. They believed me and were determined to help me. I am glad they were so sweet on that because that honestly sold me on the place. I didn't even enter for the check-up when they were doing this. As for the check-up, the dental assistant was very nice and guiding. Made it easier on me since I have forgotten how it felt to be in a dentist chair. As for the dentist, Dr. Husein was very good. He checked and found the issue. He even told me what I need to start improving on (i.e., flossing, seeing the dentist more often, etc.). However, he said it in a very kind and nonjudgmental way. I knew at the same time he was on my ass to make sure I take care of myself, but at the same time I didn't feel like I didn't want to come back. I felt it needed to be heard and thought he did a good way of not sounding judgmental doing it. Now I have to go back and get some treatment done. I am honestly not surprised because it has been years since I've been in a chair and it is my fault. I am just glad I found a place that helped me ease my way back into the process. 24Jan2017 In my teen's, (during the late '90's) I had to get braces. That was a horrible experience, and it made a lasting impression on me on how I disliked dentists. The dentists while I was in the military were equally as bad. Needless to say, I had a less than positive impression of dentists, and I avoided them. In 2014 my military filling came out I need to get it fixed. However, I avoided dealing with it., In 2015 the filling had been out for about 9 months (because I hated dentists) but I gave Dr. Hussein a try. At the exam I found out my tooth was dying. The necessary root-canal was shockingly not traumatic at all, and hardly painful. In early 2016 I went back in for the other tooth, but it had died (my fault), so I had to have it pulled and get an implant. While a weird experience (of literally having someone pull a tooth out of my jaw, then later wrench a bolt into the hole) the experience was AGAIN not bad at all. Following that, I had to get a filling. Not a problem. Dr. Husein and his AMAZINGLY polite, professional, and overall awesome staff have taken EXCELLENT care of me. Cleanings, fillings, root canal, dental implant. ALL have been excellent and all dental improvements have lasted great thus far. It was even pointed out in my initial x-rays, that the braces I wore in my youth had literally stressed my teeth, and that the stress marks were easily visible in the images. Explains why I was always in such pain from my original orthodontist. Dr. Hussein is absolutely worth giving a try. I have never had such a great experience in the dental chair and am a repeat customer. I am VERY happy with ALL care provided by his office. HUGE Thumbs up! read more

I called 1-800-Dentist to find a dentist willing to work with our Little League's insurance for an injury and one person said yes and worked with me for 3 days and then another "office manager" said no and now they won't accept my son or the insurance company even if they send them proof of coverage and payment prior to the work being done.
