It's not all flat either, there are some parts that are going up and down in the trees, a few trees you have to climb under or over on the trail. Part of it is covered, but part of us is very open and near a construction area. However, the falls are beautiful. And since it is such a trek, it's not super crowded. If you don't mind the hike and want a nice little spot to cool off and jump off a rock, I would highly recommend this place.

Another cute park area in this charming small town…read more It's a cozy park, perfect for reading, having a coffee with a friend or letting the kids play for awhile. I thought it was clean, shady and was in a decent location near the local neighborhoods. My wife and I hung out here for a bit while we were visiting her family. It's quiet and worth a stop, especially if you have small children or just want to hang out with a coffee and talk.

Check the city's website http://www.woodstockga.gov/90/Special-Events This charming place located in the center of downtown Woodstock features a gazebo, a water fountain, a war memorial tribute as well as a 9/11 memorial. There is also a time capsule as well as a centennial clock. Towards the front there are two drinkable water fountains for public use. This area is very family friendly as it is close to all the shops and restaurants in the downtown area. It's well maintained and gets lots of use on the weekend...hope you'll stop by and check it out.

We headed downtown and hung out here on black Friday while shopping downtown in the 70 ish degree balmy weather. Why wife and I took total advantage of the non northern-like warm weather and took a nice stroll through here. Very relaxing and rather nice... it was actually quiet and I wouldn't imagine it could be so quaint and quiet being in the center of town, however, really it was nice... Well maintained grounds, kept up well, very clean, no littering, and full of beautiful Christmas decorations and lighting. It seemed excellent backdrop for an impromptu holiday photo session, so we took advantage and took selfies with the pretty background seasonal decorations.

This is an incredible park very close to downtown Cartersville, Georgia…read more The park has a public pool which is well maintained and clean, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, football, baseball and soccer fields, an oval running track, lots of asphalt and gravel trails and a beautiful pond in the center with ducks and turtles. An amazing walking trail to honor the US veterans, and all laid out in a beautiful manner. I really enjoy coming here to ride my bike or walk my dog.

After being kicked about 50 times from people going up and down the bleachers I was done. Not to mention the amount of REALLY young kids walking back and forth. I have 3 kids of my own and I get they get board but when they are up and down the bleachers multiple times in an hour and I am getting kicked in the back (they are young, not babies) i am not happy. We also paid over $50 for our tickets combined. I was so frustrated I just left. You shouldn't have to tell grown people to watch their kids, but apparently you really should. It wasn't necessarily the park or the event that ruined it but the people that let their kids run wild. I never comment on kids but these were not babies, these were 10 plus that were constantly up and down the cheap bleachers and were totally distracting and also blocking the view. They did ask people that were standing in front to sit down at one point but that didn't help. Simple reminders throughout might help. I won't be going back anytime soon.

The main loop is flat dirt & gravel but the back trails are definitely for the advanced mountain bikers- so you will get a good work out. (The advanced uphill rugged terrain trails are comparable to Blankets Creek mountain bike trails also in Canton- only it's more desolate there so it can feel creepy if you're by yourself- you start to imagine bears and coyotes & snakes.) The good thing is there are always people around so it's safe park. There's tons of parking being its right next to the high school and on weekends there are always soccer teams playing or people going for a walk.

Directions: to get here you want to take I-575 N to exit 24 (Airport Dr.) and then go east. You'll see signs for Cherokee county. At Ball Ground highway make a left. Go about a mile and you'll see East Cherokee Dr. Make a right. The park is about 2 and a half miles on the right. Hope you'll visit...it's a bit secluded so it's pretty peaceful....

Time to find free power to charge up! Plugshare indicated that this was a spot and so here I am. After plugging the van into an outlet in the park, I took the time to wander around the park. Lots of great walking space as evidenced by three people who were walking the look with and without dogs. On a Sunday afternoon, not much going on but it's clear that this is ready for festivals and such with smooth grass areas and power outlets throughout. Lovely park, I enjoyed my time here for sure. You can enter the Depot (free) which is now the welcome center and check out the history behind Kennesaw (which was originally named Big Shanty). They're going to soon break ground in front of the depot to build an amphitheater (very exciting!) which means more space to gather for the community and for events. It's a short walk to the Frozen Cow Creamery and it's directly across from the Southern Museum and Locomotive History. Great park with so much history in downtown Kennesaw.
