We had a great experience renting bikes from Trailblaze! Before renting, I emailed several times…read morewith many questions, and I received an answer back within a couple of hours every time. The process of renting was very easy - you can reserve and pay all online! Then, I simply emailed the address of our rental in Cherry Grove, and the owner Van himself both delivered and picked up our bikes (if you rent for 3 days or more they deliver and pickup free of charge). The entire process was so effortless and really made our vacation even more carefree. The bikes themselves were in great condition, and we rode for miles on the beach. They came with a bike lock, water bottle holder and basket (free but on request). If you're going to rent bikes while in North Myrtle Beach or Cherry Grove for 3 days or more (and I highly recommend doing so!), then you can't get better customer service than renting through Trailblaze.

The electric bikes that we rented were absolutely perfect for the windy day that we were riding. We were able to ride at the shore of the beach and explore neighborhoods of South Carolina. If one needs to feel more active, keep the speed at 1 but if you want more cruising, keep the speed at 5. This was perfect. The wind would have deterred us but the electric bike and Van Rowell came through. Rent these bikes from here. You won't be sorry.

We were greeted by a polite and knowledgable young man who asked questions to get my daughter fitted for the correct boots, board and helmet. Being the busiest weekend of the year for them we were able to get her the gear she needed. Thinking they were out of helmets the manager hunted several places in the store to find a helmet that fit my daughter correctly. While paying for the rental we met the owner who gave us invaluable advice about the 3 ski resorts we intended to visit for the first time. We're so grateful for that advice because it put us at the best resort for our family and our first experience turned out even better than we ever expected! We always ask for our guide, Chris, as he is super friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel safe as he looks out for the group, but there is plenty of time to zoom around on your own, too. My favorite part last year was coming up on a pod of dolphins near a shrimp boat. There had to be at least 15 of them (even a baby)! They were close enough you could have touched them. The best things for me as the parent were 1) the price and 2) the flexibility. $10/ hr can't be beat. And for novice surfers, the fact that they could try and then come back and switch boards if needed took a lot of stress off of us to pick the perfect size or shape. Very happy we chose Jack's. *note that driving directions took us to a different business parking lot. Jack's is a kiosk in the parking lot in front of the pier.

The surf lesson hut is right at the edge of the beach and the parking lot near the hotel's water park area. Check in and signing waivers are at the surf shack. Open cubbies (not secure) to leave towels, sandals, small ice cooler etc behind the shack. Outdoor open shower for general use to rinse off afterwards located behind the shack on the way to the beach also. Parking: Booking instructions say that there is a white 2-story parking structure across the street (unknown cost) as I did free street parking.

The owner, and tour guide, Kay Lynn was great. Very knowledgeable about the ecosystems and the river. We selected the Eagles Island kayak tour. Kay Lynn made it very easy for us. Supplied everything we needed, outside of water (note, do not bring plastic bottles). We had a blast. I would highly recommend WOA. Kay Lynn has three main tours, Eagles Island, Masonboro Island and Greenfield Lake. You can book and pay for a tour using the WOA website. I highly recommend WOA.

We saw several birds native to the area, including an anhinga and several egrets. We also saw two alligators!! I felt completely safe the entire tour. Kay gave us lot of fun facts and info about the landscape, including information about the rice canals, the plants, and different invasive species. You can tell she has serious passion for the environment! Great experience- HIGHLY recommend!
