What a gem! I was in town for a quick work trip and one of my coworkers suggested this spot when I was looking for somewhere to grab breakfast. Kind of in a weird area in a sort of strip mall, but don't that let you deter you! Down home diner vibes for sure! Loved the cute wallpaper and vintage decor. I was solo and they only had 4-top seating so I always feel a little weird taking up a whole table by myself, but the place was pretty empty so it was no big deal. Honestly didn't interact with the server much - she basically just took my order, brought my food, dropped the check, and that was it. The food was awesome and exactly what you expect from a breakfast diner! I got the sausage gravy and biscuits, which came with 2 eggs and fruit. It was a TON of food, I think I maybe ate half of it (don't worry, the leftovers were consumed back in my hotel room later). The biscuits were big and fluffy, the sausage gravy was thick and filling but needed some salt and pepper to spruce it up. Eggs were great, fruit was fresh! Frenzied is the state of being for the kitchen and severs; the solo male at the counter is contributing to the frenzy-- Someone needs to institute a workable system. The star of my visit was Laney. She rocks! She kept my water glass full, thank you very much. Yelp considers 3-stars Okay, but there was nothing that Laney could do to fix the multiple kitchen snafus. Otherwise; the kitchen failed me. The bun was nicely toasted. The cheese was dully melted. The beef had a good beefy flavor and the seasoning was spot-on, but I ordered medium rare and it was served well done and dry as a desert. I assumed that this was a kitchen that only cooks beef to well done temps inspite of the customer's order; I was wrong, more later. Nor am I a fan of spring mix greens on a burger - leaf lettuce, please. The cherry sauce was terrific. The pasta salad was a dry-seasoned macaroni salad. The seasoning was an unexpected blend; not bad, just very unexpected. I would not order it again. My dining companions ... the chicken salad daily special was a home run. The other burger meal was another miss. The broccoli raisin salad portion was generous and had a tasty dressing, but only two lonely raisins in the generous serving. The burger? He ordered well done and three bites in discovered that it was medium rare. Yup; the kitchen had swapped the patties on our different burger orders. He took half of it home to finish in the micro for a midnight snack. Will I return? Almost certainly, yes. We were in the vicinity on another errand and wanted to try a new place for lunch. This turned out a fine choice. It's quaint and cheerful with definitely an old school vibe. The cherry decor theme is everywhere you look. My husband had a Reuben sandwich that he really loved. I had a chicken salad on croissant, which was good though not great. We decided to take home a meatloaf for tomorrow's dinner and that was nice and moist though it really needed much more seasoning. A lot of salt and ketchup were added at home. Service was friendly and prompt and the cookies were out of this world. Soft drinks only. The macaroni and cheese bites were probably the best I've ever had. I'm not a fan of them usually but theirs are very good! The only downside was everything on the table was sticky. Clint was a good waiter when in front of me. Very informative of the menu and specials but left me hanging a lot, other waitresses came by surrounding tables way more often while he worked the side room. Was there again very recently, first time for breakfast there, and had a very mixed experience. Server was great, as always here. They hire excellent wait staff. Sat in the back room to get away from the cold, and noticed a lot of issues with cleanliness. Walls were dirty with old food spatters, and there are several places where delayed maintenance/repairs has caused the place to look uncared for. Bathroom needs a very thorough cleaning/upgrade. Other than the fruit plate, which was very fresh, my breakfast meal was not good and as a result I ate a few bites and left the rest. My dining partner said her food was very good, except for the biscuits and gravy which had no flavor other than tasting like undercooked sausage. The baked goods were all excellent, as always. Coffee was weak but tasted fresh. Hoping management addresses some of these issues soon. Cherry House has long been a family favorite when we're in the area, and it is so disappointing for it to not live up to the great experiences we've had there in the past. read more

The Cherry House Cafe has always been one of my favorite local businesses in Beavercreek, but this is my first time reviewing it. We stopped in for breakfast, and we were helped quickly. The servers here are incredibly friendly and attentive, so she took our orders and got our food in right off the bat. The food always comes out hot, and I've never gotten the wrong thing. The breakfast is definitely a greasy spoon vibe, so my pancakes were oozing grease, but delicious. You can't beat these prices either. She enjoyed everything, especially the loaded potato salad. Service: For how busy the place was, our server was wonderful and food came out pretty fast! My wife and I are so excited for finding this sweet spot off the main road. It's fantastic, but like seriously fantastic. We had lunch there the other day and enjoyed everything they offered. I settled for the 4 cheese grilled cheese, but they had a grilled cheese with apple's in it too that I must go back and try. How bout this for unique a cheeseburger pie? Yep, they've got some things you don't see other places, but everything was amazing. Great cheddar and broccoli soup that comes thick and full of goodness. I like it better than a dinner, because dinners can feel rushed and not be in the greatest settings. But this place is cute and has character. You can even book a private event. We are for sure going to be back at the Cherry House Cafe, it's a winner. When you walk into a restaurant on a Monday of all days for lunch and the parking lot is packed, you know you are on to something good. There is nothing fancy about Cherry House (oo, but they do have a drive thru window and lunch boxes you can order), but their food is fancy and that is the main reason we come right Yelpers?
