Chicken wings, chicken fingers, chicken cordon bleu balls, fried mushrooms, pizza logs, cheese sticks, and fried pickles. Oh my!
Edwin R.

The Cherry Lounge has been around downtown for a long time and they have a solid reputation for two things: chicken wings and the place you'll most likely run into one of your high school teachers after graduation. All that fun stuff aside, I've had about everything on the menu at one point or another and their food is decent. Most recently, my cousin and I went in minutes before the kitchen closed down on a Saturday night. Now, most places would turn you away or offer you whatever was leftover in the fridge... but the server was polite and could tell we weren't there to cause trouble... we just needed some grub. "We can make you just about anything on our fried appetizer menu," she said. Our response was "Ok!" Needing clarification, she asked what we would like and we literally ordered every fried appetizer on the menu. DISCLAIMER: Don't do this... unless you really want to, then definitely do it! It was fun, something to scratch off our bucket list, and I still have people ask about it. We tried them all; cheese sticks, pizza logs, you name it. The best parts were the fried mushrooms and chicken cordon bleu balls... you gotta try em! The cook even came by our table to hang out for a few to meet the two guys who "ordered everything" and turned a slow night into a fun time.

Double order of hot buffalo wings

It's a dive but they have the best wings in Jamestown - good size, amply sauced, good balance of flavor & heat. Friendly service. My go-to spot for buffalo wings when I'm home.

Please don't order a burger there. There from sams club, nasty bad burger. Might be good wings but bad burgers.

I honestly think our last experience was just a fluke or off night for the wait staff and kitchen. This time everything we ordered was accurate and well seasoned. Our waitress was super fast and friendly. Our food was delicious in every single way. We loved the shrimp scampi, the salad was crisp, and the loaded jalapeño potato bites with white cheddar and tender juicy pulled pork were absolutely mouth watering. Our in house made desserts were out of this world, especially the addictive coconut cream! The owner came over and served us our desserts, she was such a nice lady. She's also a very talented cook because she makes the pulled pork and desserts herself. I highly recommend! We'll be back!

Today we arrived and we're greeted by Mindy. I was cautiously optimistic, but right off the bat things we're looking promising. She seated us in our favorite area and advised us on the menu and specials. We ordered drinks and Shrimp Cocktail and Lobster Bisque app. The drinks, ambience, appetizers and company were all perfect. Then we ordered the mains. We had the Seafood Medley with asparagus and broiled Cajun haddock with broccoli. Both arrived in good time, cooked perfectly. We were given good portions, not skimpy like some places. We don't often get dessert, but when Mindy told us they were made in-house and the coconut pie was gluten free, we had to. I ordered the peanut butter pie. Both were a perfect ending to a wonderful experience. I don't often review, but I had to this time because it was so good. I also don't believe in 5-star reviews but I can't think of anything that was wrong. Go there, you won't be disappointed.

For my drive back to Cleveland from skiing at Holiday Valley I was looking for a place along the…read moreroute to grab some fish and chips for dinner. Steener's Pub popped up and the reviews were good. Located in Bemus Point just a couple of miles from I 86 made for a convenient stop. Steener's is located a bit outside of the Bemus Point main drag, but there are a couple of other businesses nearby. The building looks modern from the outside, inside it looks like the original bar area has been there quite a while, they then added a dining room and later a second dining room. The decor is casual tavern style, lots of wood and mellow colors without much extra. The menu is a nice mix of typical bar food with a good selection of fish and seafood which makes sense for a place so near to Chautauqua Lake. Service was good, the waitress was friendly. I ordered the fish and chips since it was highlighted in the menu. The order came out quickly, a huge batter fried fish fillet on top of a load of fries with side cups of tarter sauce and coleslaw. The fries and coleslaw were just what you expect, good but nothing special. The fish was outstanding, mild flaky white fish in a perfectly crunchy coating; delicious and very satisfying. My only complaint was that while it was nicely presented on a square plate, having the huge fish fillet on top of the fries made it difficult to eat since I had to move the fish around to get to the fries and cutting the fish with the fries underneath did not work well. I appreciate attractive food presentation is important, but this was too much food for the size of the plate. I really liked my dinner at Steener's, if they could raise the level of the side dishes to match the fried fish this would be truly exceptional. Keep making great fish, just upgrade the rest of food to match.

The ranch dressing is so good with the wings and salads. It's not runny and must be made in-house. On a cool night, I'll also order the French onion soup. Service is always friendly and quick. The remodel gives them more space and the patio is great when we bring our dog with us. The bathroom in the expanded space is newer and more spacious. We love supporting this local restaurant. We'll see you soon! Thank you for staying open all year!

When you walk into Johnny's you kinda feel like you've been transported back to the good ole days when you were a kid. It's the same. It's comfort. You walk in, they take your order at the counter, you pay at the register (cash only but ATM on site), you give them your name and go find a table. Once your name is called you head back up to the counter to grab your food. It's just a cool, back in the day vibe. Your order comes on a standard red tray. Which is an added touch I just love. The owners are the same family owners since the beginning and I LOVE THAT! I love the food but I could not eat it everyday. Well, then again, maybe I could. I always order 1 with E. Despite busy lunch rushes, the staff at always greet you with a smile and work quickly to deliver your order. There is a reason this small family run restaurant has thrived for decades and it is a must stop for everyone visiting Lakewood.
