I really have to say Dr. Cheryl B. gives her heart and soul for her patients. In all my years living I never met a doctor anything like her. Very emotional to write about her. It seems like a dream. To be referred to Dr Cheryl B, she is so passionate about her patients. It is a big obligation and responsibility to decide to become a doctor. I believe if you decide to be a doctor you must give it 200%. God definitely has his hands on her life. To give her the strength and energy to take care of the world. I'm sorry, but I left very upset after my first visit with Dr. Brewer today! At first, the office was running behind, which I understood due to the Dr having surgery earlier & running late. I waited at the office an excessive amount of time afterward, with a few incompetent staff in observance and taking patients accidentally before me as I overheard. Young staff out of training school, still training, but do not know anything medical. If you work at an an Oncologist specialty, you need to know medical terms, medical information, proper procedures, the specialty, etc. The absolute worst part was when I was getting my genetic bloodwork test done. The assistant got out gloves and the kit for the doctor then left the room. Dr. Brewer came in with her trainee. Dr. Brewer tied the blue turnicket around my right arm, as I was making a fist for my vein. She opened the butterfly needle with her bare hands, and proceeded to stick me with the needle with absolutely NO GLOVES on still!!!! I said to her "put gloves on"! She continued to draw my blood with no gloves on! Then I get, get her saying "huh, that's the first time I haven't gotten it" she continued to move the needle with her bare hands touching the butterfly part and the needle under my skin, moving it around with her thumb which was dirty under her finger nail! She didn't wash her hands either beforehand! She tried to school me about not having to wear gloves as long as your not touching the needle, or the hole where you stuck the needle, etc and going on about gloves have more contaminants, and washing hands develop more MRSA, people with masks tangent... I was a medical professional, I told her you are touching other patients skin too, they could have infections, bacteria, mrsa, many unclean looking people there who could have skin conditions. And, she's teaching this to her trainee who was not wearing gloves as well, touching everything. She then put my arm down and my blood started flowing. As the doctor was removing my needle, I started to bleed, her trainee put on an alcohol pad over my area with no gloves on, it fell onto the blue seat part I was sitting on that was uncovered with no paper. The trainee picked it up bare hands and put it back on my arm that started bleeding. I said "that just dropped on the dirty uncovered part of the chair"! Dr. Brewer took my blood, the trainee opened a wrong vile to put it in, they took my blood out of the room in the larger syringe to transfer it into another vile. All improper protocols & procedures were done. I have never been so upset with unprofessional PPE / blood & infection control protocols in my life! I worked as a State & Federal employee in the medical field for years and in the ER. OSHA should be contacted, they are putting people at risk and violating medical ethics and laws. Dr. Brewer's excuses of not wearing gloves for any type of blood draw can turn into serious malpractice if she causes health complications with people. When I saw her she was touching door knobs, picked up her phone during our consultation to talk to her mother, the office didn't look very sanitary overall. She didn't wash her hands before doing my pap smear earlier and just put on the pink gloves. This is nasty and unethical! When your patient tells you to put on gloves for a blood draw who has a serious autoimmune condition Lupus, and you ignore that, there is something wrong with your thinking / ethics as a doctor. I do not trust then going forward if protocols and sanitary conditions are not in place if I had to have surgery or other testing procedures. She may be great at her knowledge of Gynecology Oncology, but her safety practices are terrible and so unsafe. Would you want someone with dry bare hands with dirty fingernails who does not wash their hands taking blood from you with no gloves on??!! And not putting them on after you the "patient" tells them too? This just ruined it for me ever coming back to this place!! Seriously, they need OSHA and other health investigations here! read more

Dr Brewer and her staff is an amazing example of what good medical practice should be. I was recommended to her as an oncological specialist from my regular GYN and the level of care was surprisingly unexpected given the amount of negativity given to Vegas health care. She delivers on patient care, knowledge and everything you would want and need from a doctor. I appreciate that every visit was a 1:1 with her and not a NP or other staff member. I had a prior doctor that just went full into surgery without giving any alternatives so I appreciate Dr. Brewer's conservative and alternative approach. She gave me the reassurance I needed and when I finally decided to do my surgery with her, the surgery and recovery could not have gone any better. Dr. Brewer is an exceptional physician, and the level of care she provides to her patients is truly outstanding. My feedback is not about her at all, but about the externship structure. The externship experience was disappointing because I was placed there for hands‑on billing and coding, yet no billing is actually performed in this office. As a result, I was limited to front‑office duties, which was not the intent of my placement. I also observed that some of the staff members who assist with running the office were not very welcoming, which made the environment less positive than it could be. Additionally, the Office Manager appeared overworked and under‑supported, especially given the patient volume and the demands of the specialty. This is not meant as criticism, but as a working suggestion: with more attention to staff support, communication, and alignment between externship expectations and actual duties, the experience could be greatly improved for both students and employees. read more

Had our first appointment here. Dr Brewer and her medical assistant (Leticia? Maybe) was absolutely amazing. My wife was very nervous. Her assistant was so funny and made it such a more relaxed atmosphere. She took the time to talk to us and wasn't just rushing us in and out. Dr Brewer was the same. She took the time to explain everything to us, and walk us through the pros and cons. This place wasn't an assembly line of patients like most places. We weren't just rushed in and out. Unfortunately we are moving out of state, but if we weren't we would definitely be going back and sticking with her. (I apologize if I got the assistants name wrong! Dammit. I was referred to Dr Brewer because I had a botched labia plasty my stitches had come out and I was left with an open cut in my private area....She fixed it and you'd never know I was in such bad shape and or ever had such a horrible experience with another Dr. Her staff and everyone I've encountered in the last year of visiting the office has treated me as if I were family. I know i am a difficult patient, I am a doctors worst nightmare, autoimmune disorder, allergic to half the antibiotics, and if its a 1 in a million chance of an adverse reaction I am the 1 in a million, and let me tell you when I say this Doctor is truly a caring, patient, understanding and wonderful Doctor. She takes the time to answer all your question. Dr. Brewer makes sure all your worries are put at ease. Yes when I first start going to her it was issues with the staff who worked for her but that is no longer the case. Her office is not like your typical doctor's office, it is welcoming, and beautifully decorated, it is such a calming and relaxing environment., not that you are ever in the waiting room for longer then a few minutes. I am so greatful and thankful she took my case because I couldnt have asked for a more caring doctor then Dr. Brewer. Honestly with her knowledge and dedication yo her skill you couldnt find a better Doctor anywhere. I was referred to Dr Brewer by my oncologist for suspected endometrial/uterine cancer that has metastasized to bone. Obviously urgent. When I called to follow up for an appt I was told she needed to review my referral and they would call me "tomorrow". Three days later I went into the office (in a wheelchair) to drop off my most recent MRI and again was told "tomorrow". It has now been one month and no call backs. My oncologist texted her at my last appt, stunned that I had not heard from her office. She must be a wonderful doctor to be so busy. She should just say she is not accepting new patients to save people with urgent needs some grief in an already difficult time. read more

What was delayed by the other office for months, Dr Brewers office got me in and biopsied right away. She was recommended to me shortly after I moved to Las Vegas. She is amazing. Very caring about her patients. Her staff is absolutely amazing. Again very thoughtful and caring. I have had to wait for a very long time in the office before I was able to see her for a schedule appointment. However I have also been the patient who needed to get in to see her very badly on an urgent call and they fit me in. So I am very understanding normally you get right in but occasionally someone may need her a little worse than I do that day. They're amazing. read more

I did not go back to the original MD who first treated me because I felt confident in Dr Brewer and her team. Dr Brewer is a wonderful, caring, and compassionate doctor. I greatly admire all that she does for her patients as she tirelessy works and goes over and beyond in her efforts to meet her pts needs. She performed surgery on my mother successfully in 2016 and overseered her chemo treatment as well as consulted with her radiation oncologist for her radiation treatment and my family and I are forever grateful. Esmeralda, Dr Brewer's former assistant, was exceptional and godsend in getting the necessary paperwork and prior auth approval in a meticulous and timely matter, and we really do miss her. Dr Brewer brought in new assistants to her office and this would be my complaint and only negative experience so far. The new staff do not pick up their phones and it would go straight to vm. I would leave messages on their vm but no return phone calls on multiple days. I do not know if Dr Brewer is aware of the situation but i do hope this problem does remediate soon because Dr Brewer's pts, such as my mom, are relying on her expertise skills and medical guidance for their health. I LOVE Dr. Brewer, she is amazing!! After today's visit I have more respect for her as a medical professional than any other doctor in Las Vegas because she listens! I've seen several doctors over the last few months that like the sound of their own voices rather than mine, the patient. So many words spew out which doesn't give me a chance to speak, or they think they know my body after 5-10 minutes of evaluation. I'm not a textbook case. Hands down the best Obgyn in Nevada. Her knowledge, caring demeanor and kind bedside manner is outstanding. Her front desk medical assistant, Esmeralda is so helpful from beginning to end. I have had two surgeries scheduled quickly with my insurance organized and quickly submitted in time to get me operated on, by her. Esmerelda was an absolute god-send! I was back on my feet within a few months and had the best experience at this office! Although a 45 minute drive from where I live now... Dr. Brewer is one of "the" best doctors ever! She is extremely knowledgeable, very caring and is very throuough. She KNOWS her stuff! She is my daughter's, my mom's and my doctor. You will be very, very lucky to have her as your doctor. I beyond highly reccomend her. She helped my daughter with her cancer diagnosis and walked through it with her. My daughter is doing well today. She helped my mom who at the time was 82 years old, she performed a hysterectomy because of a massive of growth which we thought was cancer but thank Our Dear Lord it wasn't. But the surgery was very delicate because of my mom's pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Brewer was aware and coordinated everything for my mom to a T. My mom is doing well today and is now 86 yrs old! She is also my doctor and is very aware of my age and has me complete all tests needed to be done for someone my age. She is the awesomest and we are so very, very thankful to have her.
