I went in to have a clasp replaced on a necklace that has a ton of sentimental value andneeded by a specific date. I was told they could expedite it and I was willing to pay the extra so it was ready for my daughters trip to Greece and Italy. I called the day it was supposed to be ready and was told they were too busy with a bunch a people in the store to help me. They said they would call back in a few minutes and still haven't as of right now. The repair would only take minutes to solder and they have had the necklace a week and a half and still didn't meet their promised commitment. I left a review a year ago regarding the shabby treatment we received. The owner countered with a BS response. I did not have earrings made. If items were "heavily discounted", we were not apprised of same. A bracelet we purchased broke. Brought it in for repair and was told the pins are too thin, that it would keep breaking. In no way would I look forward to visiting a jewelry store. However, when your wife decides that it is time to get her wedding ring resized, the decision to visit such a place is pretty much made for you. In doing her due diligence, she created a short list of "highly recommended" jewelers to check out. The first store we went to reinforced my (I think disdain is perhaps too strong a word) reluctance. The person seemed knowledgeable, experienced, and earnest, but not very open to my wife's suggestions and possible alternative opinions of getting a wedding ring back on her finger. The next stop was Cheryl Burchell Goldsmiths. The first lady who assisted us was friendly and nice and patiently listened to my wife as she expressed the situation. After a few minutes of discussion and brainstorming, another lady came up and took part in the conversation. This one was the eponymous "Cheryl." Together, the three of them decided to order a ring that could be used as a new setting for the diamonds that were in the 32 year old ring that currently did not fit my wife's beautiful (in case she reads this) finger. Fewer than 48 hours later the order arrived, but the ring was not exactly what was requested. We continued discussing the options, this time with another employee who was equally helpful, friendly, and patient to my frequent sardonic comments and observations. We (my wife) came to a long-awaited decision and there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Cheryl Burchell Goldsmiths (not sure why it's not "Jewelers") resized a mother's ring that also did not fit (darn shrinking rings) in very quick fasten, but also was able to resize the "new" wedding ring that we (my wife), decided upon, set our diamonds into the setting, and mailed it to us in an extremely timely manner. All this is to say that if I HAD to go to a jewelry (goldsmith?) store for some reason, it would definitely be this one. Is this some place I would just pop in and hang out just for the heck of it? Probably not. Although the ladies there were all great, knowledgeable, and fun to talk with, unless they served Guinness on tap, they next time I go will probably be when my wife says so. I was on vacation in Cd'A from San Francisco with my fiance and noticed a ring in Cheryl's shop, which turned out to be one she had designed herself. She worked with us over the course of a year (with a phone call from one of us every few months) and we ultimately walked out of her shop with my perfect engagement ring. I truly cannot say enough about how fantastic this jeweler is. Denise worked really hard to help us find rings that we liked, but that we could also afford. They also have really beautiful consignment and estate jewelry that are great prices! Even though my engagement ring wasn't purchased here, they still fixed it up and cleaned it before my wedding, which was so kind of them. I also had a necklace for my wedding that was a couple inches too long, and Cheryl took care of it in just a few minutes as I waited for my ring to be cleaned!!!
